"A fruit basket?" Nangong Ao's lips twitched, a sinister glint flashing in his eyes. "Do you think I'm a three-year-old?"
His left hand, hidden under the blanket, quietly formed a hand seal, a barely perceptible blue light emanating from his fingertips. However, just as his true energy was about to condense, Han Feng's palm lightly pressed down on his wrist.
"Click."
With a soft click, Nangong Ao's wrist groaned in unbearable pain. The half-condensed true energy dissipated like bubbles, replaced by excruciating agony.
"Ah! You—" Nangong Ao's pupils suddenly contracted as he stared at Han Feng in disbelief, "Innate Realm?!"
Han Feng's smile remained unchanged, but he tightened his grip slightly: "Young Master Nangong has a good eye." He turned and beckoned to Liu Mengran, "Bring the fruit basket."
Liu Mengran handed over a beautifully packaged fruit basket; apples and oranges, framed by vibrant ribbons, exuded a sweet aroma. Han Feng took it with one hand and waved it in front of Nangong Ao: "See? I wasn't lying to you, was I?"
Nangong Ao's gaze swept back and forth between the fruit basket and Liu Mengran, then suddenly widened his eyes: "You're not a nurse from the sanatorium!"
"Tsk tsk, you guessed it all." Han Feng shook his head regretfully, "Too bad there's no reward."
Cold sweat trickled down Nangong Ao's temples. He tried to remain calm, but his voice began to tremble: "What exactly do you want? I'm the young master of the Nangong family! Do you know what the consequences are of offending me?"
"I know." Han Feng casually pulled an apple from the fruit basket, wiped it on his sleeve, and said, "At best, it'll result in broken arms and legs; at worst, it'll lead to the destruction of your family—isn't this always the routine of your Nangong family?"
"Crunch." He took a big bite of the apple, juice splashing everywhere.
Nangong Ao's face turned from white to ashen. He stared intently at Han Feng's chewing motion, then suddenly realized something: "You...you're Han Feng?"
Han Feng didn't answer immediately. Instead, he slowly finished eating the apple and precisely tossed the core into a trash can three meters away. This casual action sent a shiver down Nangong Ao's spine—the core traced a perfect arc, without the slightest fluctuation of true energy along the way. Pure physical control, terrifying indeed.
Han Feng placed his fingers behind his ear and gently lifted it, revealing the meticulously crafted human skin mask. Nangong Ao's pupils contracted sharply, as if he were witnessing the most terrifying nightmare.
"Surprised?" Han Feng grinned, revealing his gleaming white teeth.
Nangong Ao's Adam's apple bobbed, and his back was instantly soaked with cold sweat. He instinctively wanted to back away, but found that his body was as if nailed to the spot and unable to move—Han Feng's finger, which was pressed against his chin, had at some point released an invisible energy field that sealed off all the meridians in his body.
"Ugh..." Nangong Ao could only let out muffled sobs, his eyes filled with terror. Only now did he truly realize how terrifying the man before him was.
Han Feng admired Nangong Ao's expression for a while, then suddenly raised his foot and stomped heavily on the other man's left knee.
"Snap!"
The crisp sound of bones cracking was particularly jarring in the ward. Nangong Ao's eyes instantly turned bloodshot, and although he opened his mouth wide, he couldn't utter a scream—Han Feng's energy precisely controlled his pain receptors, making even fainting a luxury.
"This is the price you paid for what you said to my wife at the Liu family's house that day." Han Feng leaned down and whispered in Nangong Ao's ear, his voice as gentle as if he were speaking sweet nothings.
Nangong Ao blinked frantically, tears mingling with cold sweat as they streamed down his face. It was just a casual, teasing remark; he never imagined it would provoke such retribution.
Han Feng's fingers moved slightly downwards, pinching Nangong Ao's Adam's apple: "Go back and tell your grandfather that I'll personally pay him a visit in a couple of days." He released his grip, wiping non-existent dust off Nangong Ao's clothes. "Of course, I'll compensate you for your medical expenses."
A precise chop to the side of Nangong Ao's neck sent the young master of the Nangong family sprawling to the ground like a puppet with its strings cut. Han Feng turned around and met Liu Mengran's shocked expression, who was covering her mouth.
"Let's go, business is done." Han Feng clapped his hands casually, as if he had just thrown away a bag of trash.
Liu Mengran pointed to the unconscious Nangong Ao on the ground: "He... he'll be alright, won't he?"
"She'll wake up in half an hour." Han Feng put his arm around her shoulder and led her outside. "I controlled my strength; it's just a common fracture. With the medical expertise of this ancient martial arts family, she'll be back to her old self in three days."
At the end of the corridor, Dongfang Wantang was already leaning against the door of room 608: "Is it all done inside?"
Han Feng nodded: "Has the Nangong family made any moves?"
"No, the entire sanatorium is perfectly normal right now," Dongfang Wantang said.
Han Feng nodded and quickly left the sanatorium with the two women to meet up with Su Wanwan.
Upon arriving at the parking area, Han Feng opened the car door and let the three ladies get in first. Dongfang Wantang glanced thoughtfully at the rearview mirror, and only fastened her seatbelt after confirming that there were no followers.
She answered Han Feng's question one last time, "Our trip to the Nangong family might encounter unexpected changes..."
Han Feng started the car, a cold smile playing on his lips: "Perfect timing, I also need time to prepare a 'gift'."
Sitting in the passenger seat, Liu Mengran would steal glances at Han Feng's profile from time to time. The cold and decisive Han Feng from just now was completely different from the gentle boyfriend she knew, yet he inexplicably made her heart race.
"What are you looking at?" Han Feng pinched her cheek while the light was red.
"What you just did..." Liu Mengran lowered her voice, "wasn't that a bit too mean?"
Su Wanwan, sitting in the back seat, immediately leaned forward: "Exactly! I heard what you said in the earpiece, and I thought you were really going to let him go!" She gestured exaggeratedly, "Then—" making a snapping motion with her fingers, "I didn't expect you to be so cunning!"
Han Feng chuckled, turning the steering wheel into the residential area: "What can I do? He did something wrong himself." The streetlights cast flickering shadows on his face. "Dealing with this kind of person, reasoning with them is less effective than just beating them into submission."
The car pulled into the garage, and the four of them filed into the villa. The warm light instantly dispelled the chill of the night. Su Wanwan kicked off her shoes and collapsed onto the sofa: "I'm exhausted! I'm never going to that coffee shop again. The signal was so bad, I almost hacked into the surveillance system..."
Han Feng casually caught Liu Mengran's coat and hung it up, then naturally opened his arms as if to embrace both girls at the same time. Just then, Dongfang Wantang, who was walking at the back, coughed lightly and tapped her hand on the door frame, making a crisp "click" sound.
The air suddenly froze. Liu Mengran and Su Wanwan's cheeks flushed red at a visible speed, while Han Feng's arm hung awkwardly in mid-air.
"Uh..." Han Feng scratched his head, "I forgot there were still people around."
