Chapter 23 The Two Women Meet

Han Feng remained unfazed: "My roommate is from the computer science department, she's probably just curious about you."

"Sharing a room?" Liu Mengran narrowed her eyes slightly. Han Feng suddenly smiled. "Otherwise what?"

Liu Mengran's ears turned slightly red, but her tone remained icy: "Stay away from me, or else—"

"Or what?" Han Feng suddenly raised his hand and plucked a cherry blossom petal from her hair. "Should I call the bodyguards to beat me up?"

This overly intimate gesture completely froze Liu Mengran.

The student secretly taking the picture from a distance had shaky hands, resulting in a blurry image. "Holy crap! Looks like we've stumbled upon a huge scoop!"

Su Wanwan huddled in the corner of the sofa, clutching her laptop, looking weak, pitiful, and helpless: "I... I just wanted to help you gather more information..."

Han Feng was pruning the branches and leaves of the potted plant when the scissors snipped past Su Wanwan's fingertips with a "snip".

"Aaaaaah!" she jumped up, her hair standing on end. "Do you even know how insane the Liu family's firewall is?! I was almost counter-tracked!"

Han Feng put down the scissors: "If you act without authorization again, I will send the surveillance footage of your night raid on the boys' dormitory to the principal."

Su Wanwan's eyes widened: "How do you even know this?!"

The doorbell rang suddenly.

The surveillance screen showed Liu Mengran standing outside the door in a white dress, holding the notebook that Han Feng had "accidentally" left in the classroom.

Su Wanwan gasped, "It's over, it's over, the main wife has come knocking!"

Han Feng covered her mouth with his hand: "If you make another sound, I'll put you in the washing machine."

When the doorbell rang again, Han Feng had just shoved Su Wanwan into the wardrobe on the second floor.

"You're dead if you dare to make a sound," he warned in a low voice.

Su Wanwan peeked half her face out from the gap in the wardrobe, gave an "OK" sign, but her eyes sparkled with gossip.

Han Feng straightened his collar and went to open the door.

Outside the door, Liu Mengran stood in a simple white dress, her black hair cascading over her shoulders, holding Han Feng's notebook. The night breeze was slightly cool, making her fingertips a little red, but her expression remained aloof.

"Your things." She handed over the notebook, her tone indifferent.

Han Feng took it, his fingertips inadvertently brushing against the back of her hand, feeling a slightly cool touch.

"Thank you, it's so kind of you to bring it here personally." He stepped aside. "Would you like to come in and have a seat?"

Liu Mengran's gaze swept past him and into the interior of the villa: "Your 'roommate' isn't here?"

Han Feng remained expressionless: "She went out."

Liu Mengran gave a soft "hmm" but showed no intention of leaving.

System warning: Liu Mengran's heart rate is abnormal, and she is suspected of lying!

Han Feng narrowed his eyes.

Sure enough, the next second, Liu Mengran said calmly, "If it weren't for the two glasses of cola on the table, I would have almost believed that it was Su Wanwan from the computer science department."

Han Feng: "..."

(Su Wanwan, inside the closet, covered her mouth and let out a silent "Wow.")

“With technology so advanced these days, there are surveillance systems everywhere.” Liu Mengran raised her eyes. “Plus, I just saw the car she drove during the day in the yard, so why don’t you invite her out to meet us?”

Han Feng remained silent for a moment, then suddenly sighed and called upstairs, "Come out."

"Bang!"

The wardrobe door on the second floor was suddenly pushed open, and Su Wanwan flipped over and jumped down from the railing. Her burgundy short hair drew a flamboyant arc in the air, and when she landed, she deliberately struck a superhero pose and said, "Surprise!"

Liu Mengran took a small step back, her brows furrowing slightly.

Han Feng sighed, "...Did you really have to make that entrance?"

Su Wanwan grinned and approached Liu Mengran, suddenly grabbing her arm. "Senior Liu! Actually, I'm Han Feng's distant cousin! My parents died and I have nowhere to go, so I have to live with relatives..." She blinked her big eyes, which instantly welled up with tears. "Every day, he forces me to study advanced mathematics, and if I get a question wrong, I don't get any food..."

Han Feng: "???"

Liu Mengran looked down at the red-haired girl who was acting like a drama queen, then looked up at Han Feng, her eyes seeming to say, "Your family's genes are quite unpredictable."

"She's lying," Han Feng bluntly exposed.

Su Wanwan's expression immediately changed, and she pouted, saying, "That's boring." Then she winked at Liu Mengran, "But he and I really have nothing else going on. You guys continue your conversation, I'm going to play games!"

Liu Mengran gently withdrew her arm, her tone remaining calm: "I'm not interested in your relationship; I'm just here to return something."

She turned to leave, but Han Feng suddenly spoke up: "Wait."

He took a cashmere scarf from a drawer in the entryway and handed it to him, saying, "The night breeze is cool."

Liu Mengran paused for a moment, then did not answer.

Su Wanwan snatched the scarf and tiptoed to put it around Liu Mengran's neck: "Don't be shy! This is a limited edition. He's so stingy, he usually won't let me touch it."

Liu Mengran was somewhat flustered by her enthusiasm, but eventually reluctantly accepted the scarf. The soft cashmere clung to her skin, carrying a faint scent of cedar, the same scent Han Feng wore.

"Thank you." She nodded slightly, then turned and left.

Inside the black sedan, Liu Mengran took off her scarf, her fingertips unconsciously stroking the fabric.

"Have you found out?" she asked the butler in the front row.

The butler shook his head: "All of Han Feng's information is encrypted; even the military database shows 'insufficient permissions.' As for Su Wanwan..." He handed over a tablet, "On the surface, she's a hacking genius, but her records before the age of sixteen are all blank."

Liu Mengran gazed at the fleeting lights outside the window and whispered, "Two people with no past..."

The butler hesitated for a moment: "Miss, shall we use the family's secret network?"

"No need." Liu Mengran folded the scarf, turned to look out the window, and said nothing more.

Su Wanwan sprawled on the sofa, munching on an apple: "How was it? My acting was pretty good, right?"

Han Feng sneered: "You call that acting? I'm embarrassed for you."

"It's just artistic license!" She sat up abruptly, then jumped to his side, nudged him with her elbow, and grinned mischievously. "Hey, everyone on the forums is guessing whether you two have been secretly dating for three months!"

Han Feng: "..."

"Some people have even dug up a video of your 'academic clash' in your business management class, saying that what you did was 'intellectually crushing flirting'!"

Han Feng finally looked up: "You're very free?"

Su Wanwan chuckled and counted on her fingers: "Look, Liu Mengran—a cold and aloof heiress with an IQ that crushes ordinary people; you—a mysterious tycoon with off-the-charts fighting skills. Isn't this the perfect setting for a melodramatic romance novel set in a wealthy family?" She leaned closer and lowered her voice, "Seriously, if you two were to officially announce your relationship, the forum servers would definitely crash on the spot!"

Han Feng closed his textbook and looked at her expressionlessly: "Looks like you really have a lot of free time."

Su Wanwan stepped back alertly: "Wait! What are you doing?!"

Han Feng slowly took out his phone and opened a recording—

"I, Su Wanwan, swear I will never hack the principal's computer again... unless he provokes me first!"

Su Wanwan: "!!!"

"You know, what if this recording accidentally ends up in the principal's email..."

"Brother Han! God Han! I was wrong!" Su Wanwan instantly slid to her knees, clasping her hands together. "I promise I'll never gossip about you and Liu Mengran again!"

Han Feng raised an eyebrow: "Really?"

Su Wanwan's expression was very sincere: "Really! I'll switch to shipping you and me, okay?"

Han Feng: "...I'm telling Chen Feng this weekend, you need to go back to Longyuan for extra training!"

"You're taking revenge on me!!!" Ignoring Su Wanwan's wails, Han Feng went back to his room on his own.
