Chapter 6 People from the Zheng Family Arrive

Outside the hospital emergency room at this time.

A man in a police uniform strode over, and a man who looked like a secretary outside the emergency room quickly stood up: "Director Zheng, you've arrived."

Zheng Weimin asked anxiously, "Secretary Zhao, how is my father?" The policeman named Zheng Qiang was the deputy director of the Jiang City Public Security Bureau and also Zheng Guodong's eldest son.

"Secretary Zheng is out of danger and is currently undergoing some examinations. He's fine," Secretary Zhao replied truthfully.

"Do you know who sent my father here?"

"I just found out. It's a high school student named Han Feng. He attends Jiang City No. 1 High School." Secretary Zhao handed the newly obtained information to Zheng Weimin.

Zheng Weimin carefully examined Han Feng's information, resting his chin on his hand. "That's interesting. A high school sophomore won a big lottery prize and even received emergency treatment. Tomorrow we'll go to Jiang City No. 1 High School; I want to thank him properly."

The next day, as soon as Han Feng arrived at school, the head of the teaching department came to his classroom: "Han Feng, come with me, someone is looking for you."

Han Feng followed Director Wang into the principal's office, where he saw two policemen, Zhou Zihao, and Zhang Meng.

The air in the principal's office was so thick it felt like you could wring water out of it. Two uniformed police officers sat opposite Han Feng, the younger one constantly tapping his fingers on the table, making an annoying "tap-tap" sound.

"Han Feng, please recount what happened after school yesterday." The older police officer, Zhao Zhiyong, flipped through his notebook, his voice deliberately impatient.

Han Feng glanced at Zhou Zihao and Zhang Meng standing by the window—the former had a cast on his right arm and a bandage on his face; the latter had a black eye on his left and bruises on his lips. Both of them looked pitiful victims.

"I've said it three times already," Han Feng replied calmly. "They attacked first; I acted in self-defense."

"Bullshit!" Zhang slammed his fist on the table and stood up abruptly. "You attacked us first!"

"Sit down!" the principal snapped, then turned to Han Feng, frowning. "Han Feng, this is serious. Zhou Zihao's medical report shows he has a fractured right hand, and Zhang Meng also has a mild concussion."

System notification: Abnormal law enforcement behavior detected.

"The police officer involved has an 87% connection to the Zhou family."

Recommendation: Request to view the surveillance footage.

"Since we each have our own version of events," Han Feng looked directly into the police officer's eyes, "I request to see the parking lot surveillance footage."

The young police officer immediately sneered: "We already checked; the surveillance system was malfunctioning that day."

"What a coincidence?" Han Feng raised an eyebrow. "It just happened to malfunction right when I was being ganged up on?"

"Unlawful search warrant detected"

"The police officer who signed the document had financial dealings with Zhou Zihao's father."

"Options are being generated..."

[Option 1] Cooperate with the investigation (Risk: Being framed)

[Option 2] Refuse to cooperate (Risk: Escalate conflict)

[Option 3] Delay time and wait for a turning point (requires 1 prediction value) Just as Feng was about to choose option three, the office door was suddenly pushed open.

"So lively?"

A deep male voice made everyone turn their heads. Standing at the door was a middle-aged man of about thirty, dressed in a crisp police uniform, the olive branches and four-pointed stars on his epaulets gleaming with an air of authority.

Zhao Zhiyong jumped to his feet, his face deathly pale: "Director Zheng? What brings you here...?"

"I heard my nephew is having some trouble at school." Zheng Weimin's voice wasn't loud, but it instantly silenced the entire office. "Come and take a look."

Han Feng's pupils contracted slightly—he didn't recognize this Director Zheng at all. But a sudden system notification startled him:

Zheng Weimin, Deputy Director of the Jiang City Public Security Bureau

Relationship with Zheng Guodong: Father and son

"Host affinity: 75%"

The two police officers from the local station turned deathly pale. Zheng Weimin walked over to Han Feng and patted him on the shoulder: "Young man, we meet again."

Han Feng immediately understood: "Hello, Uncle Zheng."

The sound of "Uncle" made Zhou Zihao and Zhang Meng turn pale.

Zhao Zhiyong's legs went weak, and he almost knelt down: "Director Zheng, this...this is normal case handling..."

"Normal?" Zheng Weimin took a tablet computer from his secretary. "Then explain why the complete parking lot surveillance footage from the day of the incident is on the provincial department's technical section server?"

A high-definition video began playing on the screen—clearly showing Zhang Meng and others first surrounding Han Feng with knives.

"And this too." Zheng Weimin pulled up another recording, a conversation between Zhou Zihao's father and Zhao Zhiyong regarding a money transfer.

Zheng Weimin turned to the two police officers: "Which station are you from? Let me see the case files."

The older police officer's hands were visibly trembling: "Chief Zheng, this is just a simple student dispute..."

"Does a simple dispute require your director to personally call me and plead for leniency?" Zheng Weimin sneered, taking a USB drive from his briefcase. "Perfect, I have some parking lot surveillance footage from that day."

The projector lit up, and the image clearly showed how Zhang Meng and his two companions surrounded Han Feng, how Zhou Zihao launched a sneak attack from behind, and how Han Feng defended himself and fought back when he was surrounded.

"According to Article 20 of the Criminal Law," Zheng Weimin's voice was as cold as ice, "defensive actions taken against ongoing unlawful infringement are not criminally liable. On the contrary, you—" He looked at the two police officers, "are suspected of bending the law for personal gain; you're suspended from duty pending investigation."

Zhou Zihao suddenly broke down and shouted, "Impossible! The surveillance footage clearly shows..." He abruptly covered his mouth halfway through his sentence.

Zheng Weimin smiled meaningfully: "Already what? Already deleted?" He turned to the principal, "It seems your school's students are quite capable; they can even manipulate the surveillance system."

The principal's forehead was beaded with cold sweat: "This...this must be a misunderstanding..."

"Han Feng." Zheng Weimin suddenly changed the subject, "Your Grandpa Zheng asked me to pass on a message: we're making dumplings at home this weekend, and he wants you to come."

Han Feng immediately understood that this referred to Provincial Party Secretary Zheng Guodong, and nodded hurriedly: "I'll definitely go, thank you Uncle Zheng."

Zheng Weimin glanced one last time at Zhou Zihao and Zhang Meng, whose faces were ashen: "These two are suspected of disorderly conduct; we'll take them back for investigation. As for the school..." He gave the principal a meaningful look, "Hopefully, this kind of 'misunderstanding' won't happen again."

As the police car took Zhou Zihao and Zhang Meng away, the entire school crowded into the corridor to watch. Han Feng stood by the window, watching Zhang Meng's disheveled appearance as he was shoved into the police car, when the system notification sounded in his ear:

"Mission Complete"

"Zhou Zihao's hatred level has reached 90%"

"Bonus experience points +20, current experience points 70/500"

"Zheng Weimin's favorability rating +10%, currently at 85%"

"Gain Special Connections: Public Security System Lv.2"

As Han Feng walked out of the office, he brushed past Mu Xiaoxiao. She was trembling all over, and her eyes were no longer filled with arrogance, but with deep fear.

Sunlight streamed through the corridor windows, casting a long shadow of Han Feng. "Just you wait, I'll make sure you all get what you deserve!"
