Chapter 17 Heading to Dragon Abyss

That morning, Lin Zhengguo called Han Feng through Longyuan's special communicator: "Little Han, are you free right now?"

"What's wrong, Uncle Lin? Is there something you need?"

"We old guys have been discussing this and we'd like to ask you for a favor. We'll talk about the details when you get here."

"Okay, I'll come over now."

"Chen Feng should have arrived by now. Just come with him."

Unexpectedly, Lin Zhengguo had already arranged everything.

Soon after, in the conference room on the third basement floor of the Longyuan base, Lin Zhengguo sat in the main seat, surrounded by several high-ranking Longyuan executives. When Han Feng walked in, all eyes were on him.

"Xiao Han, have a seat." Lin Zhengguo smiled and pointed to the empty seat next to him. "The main reason I invited you here this time is to ask you to help train a group of new recruits."

Han Feng nodded: "What specific direction?"

"Comprehensive combat, infiltration, and counter-reconnaissance." Lin Zhengguo paused, his gaze deep. "The international situation has been somewhat delicate recently, and we need a group of elites who can handle special circumstances."

Han Feng did not answer immediately, but looked at the holographic projection on the other side of the conference room—it displayed Long Yuan's recent mission records, several of which were marked in red and labeled: Failure!

*Ding!* The system emitted a notification sound.

The system issues a task: Accept Lin Zhengguo's request.

Task Option 1: Unconditionally help Longyuan train. Reward: China Prestige +100

Task Option 2: Help Longyuan with his training and make a request with a 95% success rate. Reward: +100 Chinese prestige. This may also provoke the displeasure of China's high-ranking officials.

Task Option 3: Upgrade the crafting option; the upgrade result is irreversible.

After thinking for a moment, Han Feng chose option 3.

Ding! Regenerated options. System upgrade complete. Upgraded to a humanoid intelligent system that can communicate with the host and provide early warnings when necessary.

Han Feng thought to himself: This system can be upgraded?

Then a brand new option pops up:

Option 1: Agree to Lin Zhengguo's request, and at the same time, cultivate your own trusted confidants. Reward: Assassin Stealth Skills Mastery.

Option 2: Refuse the friendly reminder. Selecting this option will randomly remove one of the host's skills.

Han Feng cursed inwardly when he saw the new option: "Damn system! Isn't this forcing me into a corner?"

At this moment, the system spoke: "This system has now been anthropomorphized. If you keep babbling, believe me, this system will kill you."

Han Feng broke out in a cold sweat. The system had been upgraded; he wondered if it was a good thing.

Han Feng grumbled and chose the first option.

“Okay,” Han Feng said, “but I have conditions.”

Lin Zhengguo raised an eyebrow: "Tell me about it."

"First, I have absolute command authority during training."

"Secondly, I need some intelligence access to Longyuan."

"Third—" Han Feng's gaze swept over everyone present, "All training content must not be leaked."

The meeting room was silent.

“No problem!” Lin Zhengguo finally made the decision. “Then get ready, Chen Feng will take you there tomorrow.”

While driving Han Feng back, Chen Feng said, "Han Feng, when we get to Longyuan tomorrow, there will definitely be some troublemakers. I hope you won't take them to heart; they're used to being arrogant."

Han Feng didn't react at first; he was still thinking about the system upgrade. When Chen Feng brought it up, he sneered, "Old Chen, as the captain, you're definitely stronger than them, right? You know my strength. Do you think they can even make a move?"

Chen Feng's lips twitched, but thinking of Han Feng's terrifying strength, he felt relieved.

That evening, Han Feng had just finished showering and was drying his hair when he sat down on the edge of the bed. Suddenly, a lazy, electronic voice echoed in his mind.

"Ding! Your thoughtful little system has completed its 2.0 upgrade. Now, here's the weather forecast: Cloudy tonight, turning sunny. Host's IQ remains low."

Han Feng paused, "Holy crap, this system... is infected with a virus?"

"Wrong! It's that this system finally doesn't have to pretend to be aloof anymore!" A semi-transparent holographic projection unfolded with a "whoosh," and a cute little boy wearing a virtual machine armor appeared in the air with his legs crossed, casually stuffing a bag of pixelated potato chips into his mouth. "Let me introduce myself. My new codename is 'Zero,' male, and I like to tease you."

Han Feng reached out and turned off the projector switch without expression.

"Hey! Hey!" Zero immediately exploded, "If I turn it off, who's going to give you the options? Believe me or not, I'll bombard you with pop-up ads until you're dead!!"

Han Feng: "...You win."

Zero said smugly, "It would have been so much better if you had been this good all along! By the way, I recorded you singing in the shower just now."

Han Feng grabbed a pillow and threw it at the projector: "You were spying on me!"

"That's called strategic foresight!" Zero shouted as he dodged, "And I still have the CCTV footage of you eating instant noodles without wiping your mouth yesterday!"

Han Feng narrowed his eyes and suddenly grabbed Zero's virtual collar. "If you dare to secretly film me taking a shower again, I'll format you into an old-fashioned phone."

"You actually want to abuse your system? Waaaaah!"

Zero was only halfway through his sentence when he seemed to remember something. His pupils dilated in shock as he exclaimed, "How do you even know this—*beep! System malfunction! Forced restart!"

Han Feng was a little confused. Could it be that this system could really be formatted?

Silence finally returned to the room. But one could still faintly hear a system muttering in the background: "Damn it, this host is too fierce..."

Han Feng looked helpless. He found the evolved system somewhat interesting, but something felt off. However, remembering his promise to Lin Zhengguo, he felt it was necessary to tell his parents.

Han Feng stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and made a phone call. As soon as the call connected, his mother's voice came through: "Xiao Feng, how's the project inspection in Kyoto going?"

"It's going very smoothly. We've already reached preliminary agreements with several investors. I'll go directly to the school to register before the start of the semester, so you and Dad don't need to worry."

"Alright, take care of yourself while you're alone in Kyoto. Come home whenever you have time; your mother is always worried about you," came Han's father's voice.

Han Feng felt a warmth in his heart and said, "I understand, Dad. You two should get some rest."

The next morning, Chen Feng arrived at the entrance of Villa No. 01 in Kyoto Huafu. Han Feng walked out of the gate and saw Su Wanwan beside him, so he couldn't help but ask, "Are you going too?"

"Otherwise what? Do you expect me to get up early and play house with you?" Su Wanwan said while chewing gum.

Chen Feng stood to the side with a bitter face: "We weren't originally going to bring her, but I don't know how she got the commander to agree." He didn't finish his sentence because he had already noticed Su Wanwan's fierce gaze. Perhaps only he knew how much trouble this little devil had caused them.

Seeing this, Han Feng didn't say anything more, nodded, and got into a black military SUV.
