The Miyamoto family's black sedan drove smoothly through the streets of Tokyo. Han Feng looked out the window at the street scene, while Miyamoto Kojiro's excited voice rang in his ears.
"Miss Aya, you didn't see Makino's face!" Miyamoto Kojiro gestured wildly, his meticulously styled hair trembling slightly with each movement. "The first time I saw Makino Tenki in the hall, his expression was worse than if he'd eaten shit!"
Aya Ikegami sat upright in a leather chair, her wrist, visible through the cuff of her kimono, dazzlingly white. As Miyamoto spoke, her slender eyebrows gradually furrowed, forming a shallow furrow between them.
Han Feng observed her reaction discreetly. This young lady from the Chishang family was far more perceptive than he had imagined; her tightly pursed lips and slightly flickering eyes revealed her concern about how things were developing.
"Miyamoto-kun," Aya Ikegami suddenly spoke, her voice as clear as a wind chime yet carrying an undeniable force, "Please stop now. You've gone a bit too far this time."
The car fell silent instantly. Miyamoto Kojiro stared, taken aback by Aya Ikegami's sudden words.
Aya Ikegami turned to Han Feng, placed her hands clasped on her knees, and gave a proper bow: "Mr. Zhang, I apologize for Miyamoto-kun's rash behavior."
Han Feng feigned a perfectly timed expression of surprise: "Miss Chishang is exaggerating... and it shouldn't be that serious, right?"
"No, this is very serious." Aya Ikegami raised her head, her eyes flashing with a light Han Feng couldn't decipher. "Although the Miyamoto and Ikegami families are partners, Makino Tenki might still have some reservations. But you are merely an envoy from the Chinese delegation, and to be dragged into our family feud..." She paused, "...is tantamount to pushing you into a dangerous situation."
Miyamoto Kojiro then realized the problem; his face gradually paled, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead: "Miss Aya, I..."
"Miyamoto-kun should understand the rules of the game between families," Aya Ikegami's voice turned colder. "Once outsiders intervene, the consequences are unimaginable."
Han Feng noticed that Miyamoto Kojiro's fingers were unconsciously rubbing the creases of his trousers. This second son of the Miyamoto family was experiencing a rare moment of panic, a proud scion of the family. It seemed that Ikegami Aya's position in the two families was more important than the intelligence indicated.
"Miss Ikegami is overthinking it." Han Feng smiled easily, seemingly oblivious to the tense atmosphere in the car. "We'll be leaving R Country after the summit. Besides..." His eyes turned cold, "Makino Tenki has been rude to my girlfriend multiple times, and I personally despise him."
These words were like a key that unlocked Miyamoto Kojiro's expression. He slapped his thigh sharply: "I knew Zhang-kun wasn't an ordinary person!" Turning to Ikegami Aya, he said, "Miss Aya, Zhang-kun possesses the integrity of a samurai!"
Aya Ikegami gave Han Feng a deep look, her gaze seemingly able to pierce through his disguise and see right into his soul. Han Feng maintained a calm smile, but his back was tense. This woman's intuition was frighteningly accurate, and he was worried that she might have seen through something.
"Regardless," Miyamoto Kojiro suddenly said, turning serious and bowing to Han Feng, "what happened today was due to my oversight. Mr. Zhang, during the summit, I guarantee your safety in the name of the Miyamoto family!"
Han Feng returned a polite smile: "Thank you, Miyamoto-kun." But in his heart, he sneered: If you knew that I came here to blow up your laboratory and deliberately stirred up conflict among the three, you would probably be so angry that you would commit seppuku.
The car slowly pulled up in front of a giant shopping mall. Aya Ikegami's expression softened instantly: "We're here. I heard they've recently received a lot of limited-edition pieces from French designers."
Su Wanwan, who had been silent all along, suddenly brightened up, instantly transforming from a well-behaved friend into a shopaholic: "Really? I saw it in a magazine; the French designer's work is so appealing!"
The two women smiled at each other, a tacit understanding that transcended national boundaries flowing in the air. Han Feng and Miyamoto Kojiro exchanged a helpless glance; it seemed they couldn't escape the hard labor that was about to begin.
Upon entering the mall, Aya Ikegami and Wanwan disappeared into the sea of luxury stores like fish returning to the sea. Han Feng and Kojiro Miyamoto, carrying more and more shopping bags, gradually became walking shelves.
"Women's fighting power...it's terrifying." Miyamoto Kojiro loosened his tie, sweat beading on his forehead. "Zhang-kun, how about we go grab a coffee? Let them wander around on their own."
Just as Han Feng was about to agree, Su Wanwan's voice came again: "Darling! Come and help me take a look at this dress!"
Han Feng glanced at Miyamoto Kojiro with a helpless expression: "Mr. Miyamoto, it seems our beautiful dream is about to be shattered."
As time went by, Han Feng lost count of how many shops they had visited. Now, he and Miyamoto Kojiro slumped into their chairs.
"Miyamoto-kun, how about this one?" Aya Ikegami walked out of the fitting room and twirled around. She was wearing a cherry blossom pink Japanese-style modified dress, which made her skin look as white as snow.
"It's beautiful." Miyamoto Kojiro answered mechanically, this being the seventeenth time he had said "it's beautiful" today. Han Feng, meanwhile, was watching the barely concealed schadenfreude in his eyes.
Su Wanwan jumped out of another shop, carrying two more paper bags: "Miss Ling! This shop is having a sale!" She waved her spoils happily and winked at Han Feng.
"Zhang Jun, it looks like you're not doing too well either," Miyamoto Kojiro teased Han Feng.
Han Feng responded with a barely perceptible wry smile. This "accompanying a lady shopping" charade had been going on for four hours, and his ankle was starting to ache. Suddenly, Liu Xiaoran's voice came through the earpiece: "Your location data shows that the mall's control center is located in the fire escape behind the restrooms."
Just then, Miyamoto Kojiro noticed that Ikegami Aya was heading towards the shop Su Wanwan had just mentioned. He jumped up from his chair as if electrocuted and quickly walked to her side: "Miss Aya, you must be tired after shopping for so long?" His face was plastered with an ingratiating smile, but fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. "There's a really nice dessert shop up ahead. How about we rest for a bit before continuing?"
After saying that, he gave Su Wanwan an almost pleading look. Han Feng nodded almost imperceptibly.
"Great! I was just thinking about having a matcha parfait!" Su Wanwan readily agreed.
Aya Ikegami glanced at her watch: "Alright, let's rest for a while."
Han Feng and Miyamoto Kojiro secretly breathed a sigh of relief. The four of them arrived at the dessert shop. Miyamoto Kojiro attentively took orders for the ladies, while Han Feng took the opportunity to observe the surroundings. A restroom sign was diagonally opposite the dessert shop, and next to it was an inconspicuous staff entrance.
