Chapter 65 Another Encounter with Gene Warriors

On the day of his return trip, Han Feng zipped up his suitcase, glanced around the hotel room, and made sure he hadn't forgotten anything. Outside the window, the morning light of Zurich filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a soft golden glow on his soon-to-be-concluded European trip.

"Ding! High-risk alert detected!" Zero's voice suddenly rang in his mind. "Traces of Bloodblade Mercenary Group members detected around the hotel. Danger level: A."

Han Feng's pupils suddenly contracted. Blood Blade? How could they have tracked him all the way to Europe?

"What happened?"

Zero didn't reply to him, but instead projected two semi-transparent option boxes into his field of vision:

Task posting options:

Option 1: Lead the team to evacuate through the hotel's back door to avoid the ambush (upgradeable to: complete concealment).

Option 2: Annihilate all members of the Bloodblade Mercenary Group in this operation (Upgradeable: Capture a squad leader alive for interrogation)

Han Feng's gaze darted quickly between the two options. Option one was safer, but passively escaping wasn't his style. Since Blood Blade had managed to track him here, it meant Mu Xiaoxiao had truly taken action.

"Upgrade Option Two." Han Feng made a decisive decision in his heart, deciding to test the upgrade capabilities of this option.

Option 2 has been upgraded: Annihilate the Bloodblade Mercenary Group and capture one of its squad leaders alive.

"Han Feng, what's wrong?" Liu Mengran's voice came from the doorway. She was already dressed, wearing a beige trench coat, her black hair tied in a neat ponytail, and holding her passport and plane ticket.

Han Feng quickly composed himself. "It's nothing. I just suddenly remembered I might have left a document at the restaurant. You guys wait for me in the lobby; I'll be right down."

Qin Chuan adjusted his glasses. "Do you need my help?"

"No need, you all go down first, I'll be there soon," Han Feng insisted.

After the two left, Han Feng immediately took out a metal box from a hidden compartment in his suitcase, entered his fingerprint to open it. Inside was a miniature pistol and three magazines. He quickly tucked the weapon into his back waistband and then took out two miniature communicators and put them in his ears.

"Zero, scan the area around the hotel for enemy distribution."

"Scanning in progress... 6 people disguised as tourists at the main entrance, 4 people in the parking lot, one of whom has a snake tattoo on his left arm and is the squad leader. Gene serum energy fluctuations detected, caution advised."

Gene serum? Han Feng frowned. The Blood Wolves they encountered last time were troublesome enough; if this group of mercenaries were all injected with the serum...

He glanced at his watch and deliberately lingered in the room for two more minutes before leaving. When the elevator reached the lobby, he saw Qin Chuan and Liu Mengran already standing at the hotel entrance through the revolving glass doors, and a black minivan was slowly pulling up.

The moment the van came to a complete stop, BOOM!

A deafening explosion shattered the morning tranquility. An orange-red fireball soared into the sky, the shockwave rattling the hotel windows. Qin Chuan instinctively tackled Liu Mengran to the ground, while Han Feng had already rushed to their side.

"Lie down and don't move!" Han Feng roared, while keenly noticing the "tourists" around him suddenly pulling submachine guns out of their backpacks and suitcases.

Da da da da!

Bullets rained down like a storm, shattering the glass curtain wall of the lobby instantly. Han Feng dragged the two of them behind a marble pillar, the flying shards of glass leaving a bloody gash on his cheek.

"What...what happened?" Liu Mengran's face was pale and her voice trembled.

"These are mercenaries, and they look like they're after me," Han Feng said calmly, drawing his pistol from his back waist. "Qin Chuan, take Meng Ran and hide behind the front desk. No matter what happens, don't come out."

Qin Chuan nodded, protecting Liu Mengran as he bent down and moved quickly. Han Feng took a deep breath, feeling the upgraded fighting skills granted to him by the system awaken in his muscle memory.

The first mercenary flanked from the left. Han Feng struck with lightning speed, delivering a precise chop to the mercenary's throat. As the mercenary doubled over in pain, Han Feng snatched the submachine gun and knocked him unconscious with the butt of the gun.

"Two people on the right are approaching," Zero prompted.

Han Feng rolled to the side, bullets riddling the spot where he had just stood. He knelt on one knee, calmly pulled the trigger, and fired two bursts, killing two mercenaries instantly.

"Han Feng! Watch out from above!" Liu Mengran's scream came from behind.

Han Feng looked up and saw two mercenaries leaping down from the second-floor corridor with movements far exceeding those of ordinary people. One of them even created a spiderweb-like crack in the marble floor upon landing!

They really did use gene-enhancing drugs! Alarm bells rang in Han Feng's mind. He quickly retreated, but one of the mercenaries had already thrown a punch, moving so fast that he was almost a blur.

Bang!

Han Feng blocked the punch, but because it was a sudden attack, he was still forced back two steps by the huge impact. This power... was already comparable to the Blood Wolf before!

"Han Feng, you can't escape this time!" The squad leader, sporting a snake tattoo, walked in through the main entrance, toying with a military knife in his hand. "Last time, you got away with that piece of trash Blood Wolf, but this time you won't have it so easy with me."

Han Feng sneered, "That depends on whether you have the ability."

Before he finished speaking, he suddenly ducked to avoid a sneak attack from behind, simultaneously elbowing the enemy behind him in the abdomen. The mercenary groaned, but quickly adjusted his stance and lunged again, seemingly oblivious to the pain.

We must finish this quickly! Han Feng's eyes sharpened, and his figure moved swiftly around the squad leader like a ghost, leaving behind afterimages.

"What?!" The squad leader's eyes widened, and he swung his military knife wildly but couldn't touch Han Feng at all.

Han Feng seized the opening and swept a leg kick towards the opponent's knee. The squad leader only staggered slightly before retaliating with a sinister grin.

"The gene serum made you stronger, but your intelligence seems to be somewhat inaccurate," Han Feng said coldly, suddenly changing his move, his three fingers forming a claw, precisely gripping the squad leader's wrist pressure point.

"Ah!" the squad leader screamed, his military knife clattering to the ground. Han Feng seized the opportunity to deliver a chop to the side of his neck, but was surprised to find that the man did not immediately faint.

"It's useless!" the squad leader laughed wildly. "The drug has strengthened our nerve resistance!"

Han Feng narrowed his eyes. He would use something even more ruthless. He suddenly leaped up, slamming his knees into the opponent's chest, while simultaneously using his right hand to strike a hidden pressure point on the back of the squad leader's neck at a special angle.

The squad leader's smile froze, his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed to the ground with a thud. This was because his combat skills had been upgraded, allowing him to easily fight against gene-engineered warriors. In addition, with Weakness Insight, he could specifically target the weaknesses of enhanced human bodies.

Seeing this, the remaining three mercenaries rushed forward simultaneously. Han Feng picked up the submachine gun from the ground, rolled behind the sofa, and calmly fired. Two shots to the head, and one shot to the wrist of the last mercenary holding the gun.

As the last mercenary was subdued, sirens could be heard in the distance. Han Feng quickly used the mercenaries' belts to tie them up, making sure the squad leader was securely bound.

"Han Feng! Are you alright?" Liu Mengran ran out from behind the cover and her eyes instantly reddened when she saw the bloodstains on Han Feng's face.

"I got cut by the glass during the explosion," Han Feng casually wiped his face. "Where's Qin Chuan?"

"I'm fine." Qin Chuan walked over from the other side, a piece of his glasses shattered, but he seemed unharmed. "The police are almost here. How are we going to explain this?"
