Chapter 82 Formidable Rival

"Where is Liu Mengran?" Seeing that the knight did not answer him, Han Feng asked again, but his voice was deep and thunderous, and his eyes burned with cold anger. His knuckles were white from clenching his fist too tightly, and the cement ground under his military boots had cracked.

The knight gave a twisted smile. He didn't answer, but instead gestured to his two equally burly companions beside him, and the three of them turned and moved toward the back door of the warehouse.

"Stop!" Han Feng strode forward, but was dodged by someone.

The knight continued walking without turning his head: "Want to save her? Let's fight somewhere else."

The iron tower and the venomous snake emerged from the shadows, but Han Feng stopped them with a raised hand. "You're no match for them," he whispered quickly. "Go find Liu Mengran. That's an order!"

In the corner, Liu Xiaoran and Yingzi supported each other, barely managing to stay upright, their clothes soaked in blood at the chest. He reached out, his hand trembling, "Han Feng...you must...bring her back..."

Han Feng nodded solemnly, his eyes as hard as tempered steel: "I swear on my life."

In the instant he turned around, he had switched to another state. The sound of police sirens grew louder as they approached the warehouse, but the three knights moved as if they were in an empty field, tearing a gap in the encirclement and speeding towards the outskirts.

Han Feng followed closely, maintaining a distance that was neither too close nor too far. In the darkness, four figures moved through the abandoned factory rooms, each step precise and silent. The knight deliberately slowed down, seemingly guiding this deadly chase.

"Han Feng...can you hear me...?" A broken communication suddenly came through the earpiece; it was Su Wanwan's voice, "Sky Eye System...locked on Liu Mengran...an abandoned building in the suburbs...near you..."

Han Feng looked up, his gaze piercing through the layers of darkness, locking onto a vaguely outlined building in the distance. The three knights were running in that direction.

"Thank you," Han Feng replied briefly, then accelerated his sprint.

After a few seconds of silence on the other end of the earpiece, Su Wanwan's almost choked voice came through: "You... be careful..."

The abandoned building resembled a lurking beast, its dark windows like countless eyes. Han Feng paused briefly at the entrance, noticing fresh bloodstains on the ground, trickling down into the stairwell.

His heart pounded violently in his chest, but Han Feng forced himself to remain calm. He climbed the stairs two steps at a time, heightening his senses on each floor. On the third floor, the stench of blood suddenly intensified.

Kicking open the rusty iron gate, the sight before him made Han Feng's blood freeze instantly—

Liu Mengran was tied to the metal chair in the center, her head hanging limply, her long hair obscuring her face. Her white shirt was stained with blood, and most shockingly, there was a dried wound on her right wrist. Several pieces of blood-stained glass were scattered on the ground.

"What did you do to her?!" Han Feng's voice was no longer human, but roared like that of some kind of wild beast.

The knight, standing in the shadows, slowly emerged and said, "Don't get agitated. When we found her, she was cutting rope with glass." He pointed to the shards on the ground, "She accidentally cut her wrist... If we hadn't stopped the bleeding in time, you'd be seeing a corpse right now."

"If anything happens to her, I'll make you all pay with your lives!" Han Feng said coldly.

"As expected, Miss Mu's analysis was correct. This young lady is very important to you," the knight said with great interest.

Han Feng's gaze swept back and forth between Liu Mengran's pale face and the knight, trying to determine the truth. Just then, Liu Mengran's eyelashes fluttered a few times, and she slowly opened her eyes.

"Han... Feng? Is it really you?" Her voice was as weak as a mosquito's buzz, her eyes were unfocused, as if she was unsure whether this was reality or a hallucination.

The knight suddenly burst into laughter, the sound echoing through the empty factory: "Perfect! Let her watch firsthand how you're tortured to death in my hands!"

He snapped his fingers, and two gene-engineered warriors approached Han Feng from the left and right. Their muscles began to swell unnaturally, and strange blue vein patterns emerged beneath their skin.

Liu Mengran fully regained consciousness, her pupils shrinking sharply: "Han Feng, run! They're not ordinary..."

Before he could finish speaking, one of the gene warriors lunged at Han Feng, his fist whistling through the air as it aimed straight for his face. Han Feng dodged to the side, simultaneously swinging his sword at the opponent's neck. This time, there was no sound of metal clashing; instead, the blow bounced off as if hitting rubber.

"It's no use," the knight said casually, leaning against the wall. "They've entered berserk mode; this is on a completely different level from the previous skirmish."

At that moment, another soldier attacked from behind. Han Feng dodged, but was grazed on the shoulder. The force of that single blow sent him flying, crashing heavily against the wall. Bricks shattered, and dust fell in a flurry.

"No!" Liu Mengran screamed and struggled, her wrists bleeding from the ropes.

Han Feng spat out a mouthful of blood and slowly stood up. His eyes had changed; they were no longer filled with anger, but with a terrifying calm. His right hand reached for his waist, drawing a specially made military knife, its blade gleaming with a ghostly blue light in the moonlight.

"Looks like your potions have made another breakthrough?" Han Feng's voice was as cold as ice. "Then I'll see what kind of monster it is now."

He launched the attack, his military knife tracing a blue arc. The first gene-engineered soldier instinctively raised his hand to block, but Han Feng changed his move mid-strike, the blade precisely slicing into the gap of his elbow joint. With a "crack," his entire forearm drooped down like a broken piece of wood.

The knight's smile froze on his face: "Impossible...that sword is...?"

"The latest nano-vibranium technology, a gift specially prepared for you inhuman bastards." As Han Feng spoke, he flashed behind the second soldier, and with a flash of his blade, the ligament behind the knee snapped.

The two genetically engineered warriors collapsed to the ground. Although they felt no pain, their dysfunctional limbs rendered them unable to continue fighting. The knight's expression finally changed; his initial composure was gone.

"You think this is the end?" The knight took off his coat, and in an instant, he swelled up like a balloon, then instantly returned to normal.

But at this moment, the knight's voice seemed to have the roar of a wild beast, and even his eyes flashed with a scarlet light.

"Just as the intelligence indicated, ordinary gene warriors can't do anything to you. But it's a pity you've met me. So far, I'm one of the few people who are perfectly compatible with the gene serum, and the strength I unleash is far beyond what those low-level gene warriors can match." The knight said coldly, and the next second his body rushed towards Han Feng as if he had teleported.

Han Feng was knocked away by the knight before he could react. He was shocked: there were actually people who were perfectly suited to the potion, and judging from his description, there seemed to be more than one!
