Chapter 69 IF Line (Continued from Chapter 62) Distance

“So my advice is to stay away from him,” Madonna said. “A little distance might lead to a good outcome.”

*

The warm morning sunlight streamed through the window, falling on Reinhardt's profile and gently caressing his long hair.

Although the two somewhat inexperienced individuals didn't quite make it to the final step, Reinhardt was exhausted by the physically powerful Storm Leader and, unusually, stayed in bed.

With his long golden hair scattered on the bed, Reinhardt, who had been sleeping curled up on his side with his eyes closed, finally stirred after a long while and got out of bed with astonishing willpower.

Just as Reinhardt stepped out of his room, the Storm Lord also opened his door, carrying his breakfast.

Reinhardt turned his head in that direction, then nodded gently and politely, saying, "Good morning."

After a moment of silence, the Storm Leader replied politely.

"morning."

Immediately afterwards, he sat down on the sofa with his breakfast.

Reinhardt slowly crept over as well.

After they were seated, Buster, as always, set out the table for Reinhardt, waiting for him to eat. But this time, Buster was somewhat silent.

The guy who used to chatter incessantly while he ate remained silent until he finished eating, then sat up straight and slowly began to speak.

"The location of the Cloud Library has been basically confirmed. Celine will go with us. If there are no problems, we will set off this afternoon."

Reinhardt, with his extraordinary sensory abilities, was also quite perceptive of the subtle emotions of others, let alone Buster, someone he had spent so much time with.

Even in the simple act of drinking soup, he could sense that something was wrong.

But Reinhardt couldn't quite put his finger on what was strange about it. In behavioral terms, it was probably that the first thing Buster did upon seeing him was to lean in and touch his waist.

Even if he doesn't allow it, this tyrannical bandit leader will still go his own way.

Feeling strange, Reinhardt, who was already silent, couldn't explain his feelings and fell into an even deeper silence.

Looking at the Son of God's dazed expression, Buster across from him had a fleeting impulse to ask him what he really meant by his feelings for him.

But his reason clearly told him that Reinhardt might not be able to give him the answer he wanted. More accurately, he was afraid to face that answer.

Buster never imagined that he could be timid at times.

At the same time, Madonna's words echoed in his mind.

“Reinhardt isn’t stupid, but he needs some time. Chief, we can’t be too aggressive or force him. I hope you can give him some space and time, and give the two of you some time and space as well.”

She said.

"Thinking can make people more determined and rational in facing the future, and perhaps you will reap some unexpected surprises."

Buster, a novice in love, thought about this and felt that the experienced Madonna was quite authoritative, so he decided to trust her opinion.

He pulled his gaze away from Reinhardt, took a deep breath, and forced himself to calm down.

Sensing the somewhat oppressive atmosphere, Reinhard finished his meal, silently put down his chopsticks, and stood up without a word, stroking his hands as he walked towards the door.

Buster's pupils contracted, and he almost instinctively stopped him. But he held back and turned his head away.

After Reinhardt walked out the door, Buster slowly looked at the door, feeling a tightness in his chest.

So this is what being in love feels like—complex and bittersweet? For the first time, Buster had the thought that love was truly heavy.

What's even more frustrating is that Reinhardt remained completely unfazed.

Although he probably didn't know exactly what happened...

Buster sighed, feeling like a fool who was hopelessly in love.

The resentment and frustration welled up from the bottom of his heart, and Buster suddenly felt like he was deliberately being pathetic.

Others might not even care!

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and the angrier he became, the more he thought about it. So Buster simply stopped seeing Reinhardt for the next few days and just had people keep an eye on him to make sure he ate well and rested properly.

He had assumed that Reinhardt might have missed him a little, or perhaps out of habit, come over and ask him what had happened.

But he seriously underestimated the nature of that simmering potato; it was he, the one who started it, who suffered the most.

This strange cold war continued until the morning they decided to set off.

Buster, eager to see Reinhardt, waited at the bottom of the stairs. After a long and agonizing wait, along with two other ladies, he finally saw the sexy and beautiful Reinhardt dressed as the Black Widow.

Buster's eyes lit up, and his heart pounded. Already obsessed with Reinhardt, he was now even more lustful, and felt an exaggerated pain in his pants.

As always, he wanted to go and help Reinhardt up, to pull him into his arms, and to touch the god's slender waist. But Madonna's words still echoed in his ears.

Buster paused slightly with his outstretched hand, clenched his fist, and forced himself to lower it.

Distance, distance, he's being driven to his death by distance.

He turned his face away, so he didn't notice Reinhardt's barely perceptible confusion and hesitation because of his obvious gesture of lowering his arm.

Madonna raised an eyebrow and, taking advantage of Buster's pause, stepped forward and took Reinhardt's hand.

Reinhardt nodded gently to Madonna, then turned somewhat embarrassedly to Victoria.

"This outfit may not be suitable for the upcoming operation. I apologize for disappointing you, but I think it would be more appropriate to change into a simpler and more practical suit."

Victoria paused for a moment, clearly having not considered this question. Subconsciously, she had already linked the chieftain with Reinhardt, believing that wherever they went, the chieftain would bear the responsibility of being their mount.

Reinhardt's words brought her to her senses, and she began to see them as two individuals who would eventually separate.

"Sorry, I didn't consider that..."

Before she could finish speaking, Buster interrupted her as he turned around.

"Just wear this," he said. "As long as you're comfortable, that's all that matters. With me here, you don't need to worry about anything else."

That makes perfect sense. With the Storm Leader around, even if Reinhardt wanted to run around naked, he could cover for him.

He also had his own selfish motives, thinking he could use this as an excuse to hug Reinhardt.

He was extremely agitated. During the short time that Reinhardt went back to his room to leave, the Storm Leader almost lost control of himself and went over to harass Reinhardt.

Since the Storm Leader had spoken, Reinhardt, as an attendant, wisely refrained from saying anything more.

After a brief instruction, Celine had already boarded her aircraft. Buster planned to take this opportunity to ride with Reinhardt again. But when he turned around, the little potato had already taken out his aircraft, was holding onto the control panel, and was slowly leaning upwards.

...

Although he was pleased with Reinhardt's independence, Buster still couldn't hide his disappointment.

Silence lingered among the trio until their aircraft was banned from further travel.

Buster instinctively caught the falling Reinhardt in his arms. After the three landed, Celine realized that they couldn't use the flying vehicle for the rest of the journey and had to proceed on foot.

The Storm Leader was still distracted by finally touching the soft Reinhardt when the latter, for the first time, took the initiative to leave his embrace.

“If I am not hindering your progress, please allow me to leave,” Reinhardt said politely, lifting the hem of her skirt. “I must get used to days without your help.”
