Chapter 41 The bounty poster is so flashy, so exaggerated!

Chapter 41 The bounty poster is so flashy, so exaggerated!

The soldier guarding the city turned his gaze to the 'younger brother' shrouded in a blue cloak. His eyes lingered on the rather ordinary-looking face. He remained silent for a moment, then stepped aside to make way for him.

Buster was very good at acting; he also knew how to smile politely and nod slightly as he walked slowly through the ranks of soldiers into the city gate.

The thickness of the city wall is also exaggerated, resembling a short-distance vehicle tunnel, and it is incredibly sturdy.

The arched city gate is roughly estimated to be at least two bustles high, and of course, the thickness of the gate panels is equally astonishing.

Inside the city gate, on each side stood two massive giants, each over two and a half meters tall, resembling two mountains, who were responsible for opening and closing the city gate daily.

The city itself was relatively bustling. Although a layer of snow still covered the ground, there were many people coming and going on the streets. The houses in the snow country all had pointed triangular roofs and were painted with a thick layer of black paint. They lined up along the streets, looking very solemn and somber.

There were signs on the street, so Buster didn't need to ask for directions or ask anyone else for help. He found his target at a glance—the Guild Quest Tower.

Buster figured that Reinhardt, being blind and introverted, probably wouldn't ask him anything he was curious about. But Buster instinctively sensed his curiosity, so the guy smirked and started babbling on.

"Any adventurer or bounty hunter can go there to accept quests, or register their personal information to find guilds, adventure partners, and so on. I'm going to go there to see if there are any quests related to dragon hunting, maybe I can sneak into a party."

Reinhardt was indeed curious. After Buster finished speaking, he asked, "Why aren't you with Ms. Madonna and the others?"

Wouldn't it be better to have a partner you know well?

“Yes, but there’s no need, and it would be too attention-grabbing,” Buster said. “There are too many people on the streets.”

Reinhardt didn't understand, and a question mark silently popped into his head.

“The Snow Country is a cold land. Although the rewards for missions here are high, the mission levels are also very dangerous. Only those who are bored out of their minds or have an adventurous spirit would specifically come to this place. Oh, and of course, there are those like me who are obviously after some kind of treasure.” Buster lowered his voice as his eyes swept over a small team passing by. “Why do you think that is?”

Reinhardt pondered for a moment and then gave a concise two-word answer: "Pursuers."

Buster raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised.

He composed himself and gave Reinhardt's cheek a complimentary pinch: "Not stupid at all, you're so smart."

Although Reinhardt's face had become unremarkable, Buster could still connect the rosy hue he had created on Reinhardt's face to his expressionless and adorable appearance.

Consistent with Reinhardt's conjecture, Buster also felt that the extra people were most likely pursuers from the Harlin Empire. They weren't necessarily soldiers from there; with the Son of God kidnapped, a kill order would likely be issued to various locations, with a hefty bounty.

While the title of Storm Leader was enough to intimidate most timid individuals, it could not quell the restless ambitions of those with lofty aspirations.

They must have all heard the rumors about the Devil's Eye and are trying to use this clue as bait to lure Buster into a trap.

Moreover, Buster was unaware of the Snow Kingdom's attitude. Currently, his abduction of Reinhardt from the Harlem Empire was being viewed by other countries as a mockery of the Harlem Empire. However, if Buster were to openly appear here and provoke a second nation, it would likely arouse suspicion from all nations.

What will happen next is easy to imagine.

Buster is not afraid of fighting, but he dislikes pointless wars.

Privately, he may have long been a target of suspicion for various countries, but at least for now, his presence can maintain a certain balance in the open, and no fool would provoke him.

So Buster didn't choose to bring his other companions along or make things too obvious.

With the guild tower in sight, the Storm Leader, seeing the intelligent robots at the entrance and the floating light screen sign, continued to explain to Reinhardt: "Actually, you can now accept quests through communicators, but a large number of adventurers and bounty hunters still choose to accept them on-site. Do you know why?"

Reinhardt shook his head, clearly also interested in the matter.

Buster continued, "To receive the reward for accepting a mission online, you need to present proof of mission completion. If I accept a mission online to kill someone, the proof is their head, and I have to deliver their head here to complete the mission. Of course, you can also use a special teleportation station to send the mission items, but that will incur a fee. In this case, it's not as good as accepting the mission offline, at least there are no handling fees deducted during on-site settlement."

It was quite complicated; Reinhardt didn't understand some of the technical terms, but he could roughly understand some of them.

"Moreover, online settlement requires real-name authentication, and some adventurers have special identities, such as me and you."

At this point, he started acting like a jerk again, saying, "Do you know why I had to hide my identity?"

Reinhardt turned his head toward him, using his face to tell him the answer.

Buster, however, wagged his finger and made a 'tsk tsk tsk' sound, as if teasing a puppy.

“Not only that,” he said. “Who am I, Buster Grand? What if people know I’m here to take on a mission and they misunderstand and think I’m poor? That would be a huge disgrace!”

Reinhardt, who was used to being poor, remained silent and turned his head back.

There's no need to pay him any attention.

The tower's main door was always open, but a protective barrier was placed at the entrance, preventing the cold air from entering. Upon stepping inside, Buster and Reinhardt immediately felt the warmth.

The Guild Tower has about three floors. The first floor is where you accept quests, the second floor is the rest area for the tower guards, and the third floor is the quest treasure vault.

The stairs leading to the tower are behind the reception desk, which, despite being brightly lit, exudes a sinister chill.

The tower was filled with people, big and small, tall and short, dressed in strange and unusual clothes, each with their own unique characteristics. Most of them were the protagonists of their own stories and were quite worldly-wise. So, while Buster carrying a doll...carrying his younger brother as he entered was eye-catching, it wouldn't garner much attention.

Only a small number of people who like to observe others do so secretly.

Buster patted himself and Reinhardt off the chill and walked straight to a young man at the counter who was in charge of issuing tasks.

"Where is the notice board? I'd like to see the task list."

The man pointed to the mechanical screens standing on either side and said, "You can search for it on the guild network and hand it in at the counter when you need to."

Of course, if someone is illiterate, he can read the words for them. This is also one of the basic duties of a guide.

Without saying a word, the Storm Leader turned and walked towards a machine.

Before he could even open the list, a row of dazzling, sparkling words floating on the screen's homepage almost made Buster burst out laughing on the spot.

[Bounty Notice - The Head of the Son of God]

"So dazzling, so exaggerated! Why can't Reinhardt see it!" Buster sighed in regret, thinking that if he could see it, he would probably go blind again.

Author's Note: Buster: Hahahahahahahaha, this special effect is so tacky!

Madonna: Hahahaha, help!

Victoria quietly covered Reinhardt's ears: "Their sense of humor is too low, don't try to imitate them!"

Referencing an emoji featuring a middle-aged woman holding a wine glass with the words "Cheers" in bright colors floating beside her, this is a meme specifically designed for middle-aged and elderly people.

So rustic, I love it (not really).
