Chapter 21 When the young lady is out and about, her identity is something she gives herself. ...

Once ashore, everyone goes their own way, and if anything happens, they'll meet again with a single arrow. This has always been the way the members of the military bandit gang operate, and Victoria says she'll get used to it.

Her passion lies in shopping, and she can enjoy it immensely even without Madonna or Celine by her side. Not to mention this time, she has Reinhardt as the perfect shopping companion.

Reinhardt was a bit taller than her, and after the chief's strict feeding over this period, his physical condition had basically recovered, and he had even gained quite a bit of weight. His thin cheeks had become rounder, and even his skin had a visibly glowing luster.

The black gauze ribbon made his skin appear even whiter, and even walking on a bustling street surrounded by gorgeously dressed beauties, he stood out as the most striking figure.

Unexplained pride.

Victoria, with Reinhardt's arm around her shoulder, exuded a sense of pride, as if to say, "My son is just so handsome."

She smiled, tilted her chin up, and, under the gaze of passersby, took Reinhard's arm as they prepared to enter a jewelry store they had just set their sights on.

Before they could step onto the stairs, a strange man blocked their way.

The man was wearing a fitted blue-gray leather trench coat, a matching top hat, and a cane. He looked very polite and kind.

"Please wait a moment, ladies." He reached out to stop Victoria, his smile perfectly calculated. "Excuse me for interrupting your shopping. My name is Dirk. Could you please give me a few minutes so I can buy you both a cup of coffee?"

Victoria has been approached by many people, and she is very skilled at handling such situations.

She lifted her skirt and politely returned the greeting, just like a noble lady.

“Hello, Mr. Dirk. It’s an honor to have your invitation, but my companion and I just want to look at some nice clothes and enjoy some private time today.” She smiled gently, her tone unlike anything Reinhard had ever heard before… well, composed and aloof.

She knew that Reinhard, the good-natured little god, wouldn't mind accepting the invitation, and if she asked him carefully, he would definitely agree to accompany her. But precisely because of this, she couldn't let Reinhard ask.

He had such a good personality; they wouldn't get angry or resist no matter how much he stroked or petted them, indulging them without any limits. This kind of good nature was entirely altruistic, but it wasn't a good thing for Reinhardt.

Blindly obeying others will only lead to them taking advantage of you more and more, gradually eroding your true nature as a human being.

Although the leader always bullied him and acted incredibly childishly, Victoria knew very well that the leader did this purely to motivate Reinhardt.

I want to stir up some emotions in this apathetic guy, to gradually rouse him, and to teach him to resist.

While a large part of it stems from the leader's personality—he's just a bit of a jerk—at least it's having some effect! Under the villain's oppression, Reinhardt has begun to show slight signs of resistance—he'll sneak snacks when the leader isn't around!

Just thinking about it makes me so happy. Victoria's smile became even more genuine, while she continued to politely decline the invitation.

"I believe we will have the opportunity to meet again. Next time, I can treat you to a cup of coffee."

Logically speaking, now that things have come to this point, any polite person who understands the unspoken meaning should tactfully leave.

Dirk, however, was still unwilling to back down.

He quickly pulled a card from the inside pocket of his coat and handed it to Reinhardt. Realizing that the other man was blindfolded and might have difficulty seeing, he then passed the card to Victoria.

Victoria took the card and read the words on it aloud.

"A film company? Are you a talent scout?" She remained calm, her question conveying a composed and unflappable air.

Normally, girls his age would look on with envy and longing when they saw his talent scout identity. This time, Dirk thought he would get the same response, but he didn't expect the other party to look completely disdainful.

She seemed to be a girl from a very powerful family background, or at least very experienced. Dirk's gaze revealed a hint of scrutiny.

Dirk smiled and nodded, revealing his identity: "Yes, I wonder if you remember that actress, Retiger?"

Victoria remained uninterested.

She nodded, then shook her head, and said, "I've probably heard of her name, but unfortunately, I'm not interested in this industry. If my father knew I was useless, he would break my legs."

The pretty girl with pigtails greeted them politely, then stopped talking and pulled Reinhardt straight into the clothing store.

The latter probably didn't follow him again, because Victoria was currently nagging beside him.

"So clingy, even though I said I wasn't interested."

Reinhardt remained silent for a while, but his head was tilting towards Victoria.

Victoria sensed his curiosity, chuckled, and affectionately took Reinhardt's arm.

"You didn't actually believe what I said, did you?"

Reinhardt nodded obediently and asked her in return, "...Isn't it true?"

He genuinely believed that Victoria was a noblewoman who had been living away from home.

“When you’re out and about, you give yourself an identity,” Victoria said. “Don’t reveal all your secrets to strangers when you’re chatting with them, or you’ll easily be taken advantage of.”

I see.

Reinhardt was confused, but he still felt he had benefited greatly.

"What an adorable short skirt!" Victoria exclaimed, her eyes lighting up like a shark that had stumbled onto a fishing boat, her voice involuntarily rising in a high-pitched voice.

He pulled Reinhardt quickly to the clothes rack and began gesturing to him.

Having spotted a dress she liked, Victoria led Reinhardt to the tea table reserved for guests and gently instructed him, "Please sit here for a while, I'll try on the clothes."

The blindfolded blonde beauty obediently nodded.

Worried that Reinhardt might be bored, the waiter served him tea and pastries, which Reinhardt initially found quite interesting. However, during his time on the ship, his appetite had gradually become more discerning, and with formal mealtimes approaching soon, he was in a bit of trouble.

To avoid Buster's nagging, Reinhardt quietly put down his dessert spoon.

He's not that greedy.

real.

The wait was rather long; Reinhardt sat there quietly for a long time, but Victoria still didn't come out of the dressing room.

Is this dress really that hard to wear?

Reinhardt's fingers clenched slightly as he hesitated whether to go to the locker room door to ask.

Footsteps suddenly came from the direction of the doorway, and Reinhardt heard them seem to be heading straight for him. But they quickly stopped at least three or four meters away. After that, there was no further movement, as if they had been standing there the whole time.

Reinhardt had a keen intuition and felt that the new guest was watching him, even though he didn't say anything.

He felt inexplicably uneasy.

Although the handsome guy with his eyes covered didn't show it, his head, which was tilted towards the locker room, seemed a little lost.

With his hand on the table, Reinhardt tentatively called out, "Victoria."

However, the expected response did not arrive; instead, a deep, sneer came from a strange man.

A note from the author:

----------------------

Victoria asked curiously: Are you afraid of the chief? Do you think he's fierce?

Buster silently pricked up his ears.

Reinhardt shook his head: No.

Buster crossed his arms, tilted his chin up, and looked smug.

Victoria (annoyed): Then why do you care about him? Just eat what you want!

Reinhardt (hesitantly) (shyly) (honestly): Because... it will be noisy.

Madonna, Victoria, and Celine all burst into laughter simultaneously.

Buster [angry]
