Chapter 64 I Can't Forgive You

Chapter 64 I Can't Forgive You

The word "fairness" was all too familiar. Just an hour ago, the Storm Leader had heard this unpleasant word from one of his own men. Now, hearing it from his beloved's lips, even the Storm Leader, who had no doubt about his charm, felt an unbearable pang of jealousy.

Buster was afraid to hear anything else from Reinhardt, but he was desperate for an answer. So he suppressed his impatience and waited quietly for Reinhardt to speak.

His potatoes were sprouting, and at this crucial moment, he absolutely could not be disturbed in the slightest.

In fact, Reinhard hadn't originally intended to say it. It was his nature; he tended to keep many thoughts and words to himself, striving to understand and process them. If something was beyond his comprehension, or something he instinctively didn't want to perceive, he would selectively ignore it.

But under Buster's subtle influence, he gradually learned to speak.

Even if it can't be resolved right now, at least we should speak out.

The hot-tempered storm leader learned patience, and the taciturn son of the god learned honesty.

"Unfair?" Buster asked in a low voice, like a patient and encouraging teacher offering his sincerity and patience.

Reinhardt was also a good student.

“Yes, it’s unfair.” The silence finally ended, and he nodded and said.

"I still can't say whether my feelings for you are love or hate, but if you're here, I feel very safe, and I even look forward to your touch. Buster, before this, I didn't like having another person next to me, and I couldn't fall asleep peacefully knowing that another person was there."

Reinhardt spoke slowly, his voice soft, like a sliver of light filtering through the dense foliage of a misty forest, gentle and soothing. He calmly recounted feelings that were both unfamiliar and real to him, attempting to entrust his trust and sincerity to another person.

"I feel relaxed and happy when I'm with you or waiting for you. I only feel this way with you, so there's a high probability that I like you."

……!

He likes me!

Buster's heart was about to burst. At that moment, he almost couldn't resist pulling Reinhardt into his arms and sucking on him fiercely! But his joy didn't last two seconds before it was interrupted by Reinhardt's slightly furrowed brow and his turning his head away.

The beautiful god's radiant golden hair slid across his shoulder, cascading down in strands that obscured his slightly melancholy face.

"But I'm actually unwilling to admit it."

Reinhardt murmured softly.

Buster was stunned, his mind racing with all sorts of chaotic thoughts. He even wondered if Reinhardt looked down on him for being a robber!

"Why?" He knelt on one knee on the carpeted floor.

This rug was originally placed there by Buster after he cleared away the surrounding clutter to make it easier for Reinhardt to move around in his room. Now, it unexpectedly supports Buster's knees.

The calm Reinhardt had already prepared his explanation, and without much hesitation, he quickly gave an answer.

“I think it’s unfair,” he said. “Given that you can’t possibly feel the same way about me, I think my liking for you is very unfair.”

Buster's tightly clenched heart was filled with question marks at this moment.

"I, the Holy Father, don't like you? That's impossible! Was it that fox-orc who was gossiping about you while I was away?" Buster's anger flared up even more than the ship's lookout tower, and his already unruly hair stood on end in a rage.

But Reinhardt's next words were a real slap in the face, successfully extinguishing his anger.

Reinhardt shook his head and said, "It has nothing to do with him. You said it yourself that it's impossible."

“Me?” Buster’s face contorted in disgust. “When did I ever say such a thing?”

Is he really that damned?

As the saying goes, "What you ask for, you get," and Reinhardt delivered another powerful slap to his face.

“During the conversation when Mr. Mark thanked me, you personally refuted his question.”

With key figures serving as supporting clues, Buster successfully recalled everything that happened at that time, including Mark's provocative questioning and his jealousy over their pleasant conversation.

Buster wanted to slap himself across the face as a sign of his own stupidity.

It's estimated that around that time, or rather, even earlier, he had already developed a different kind of affection for Reinhardt than for anyone else.

Take the example of touching someone's waist and pinching their buttocks (?). The Storm Leader claims to be no good person, yet he has never been so interested in another person's body.

He was incredibly comfortable touching this and that, and he paid special attention to their diet and daily life, all without any romantic entanglement between them.

Now that he thinks about it carefully, even the Storm Leader doesn't think he's a rogue, but rather a rogue who fell in love at first sight.

Then, he figured out something else.

Having spent so much time together, Buster had come to know Reinhardt quite well, realizing that this potato was rather weak in both emotion and morality.

Logically speaking, he shouldn't have cared about that insignificant remark, because Buster should have been an insignificant person to him at that time.

But he remembered his words, and because of them, he developed a resistance that he couldn't explain.

In other words, Reinhardt at that time may have developed feelings for him that were different from those for others.

Buster belatedly realized that his stubborn rebuttal had hurt Reinhardt.

To be honest, he was happy that Reinhardt had given him a positive response. But at the same time, he felt more heartache and guilt.

Buster had never hated the aggressiveness of his foul mouth so much. Because he had almost buried his own love with his own words, and the hurt Reinhardt had suffered.

If he hadn't been so stubborn and defiant, or if he had clarified his own thoughts sooner, Reinhardt probably wouldn't have been so upset about it.

He must have been upset and couldn't find the right words to express himself, which is why he wanted to seek fairness.

Buster took Reinhardt's hand, raised the back of his hand, and leaned down to gently kiss it.

Then, he took control of the other's hand, letting the golden-haired god's fingertips fall on his face, providing the other with a clear view.

The Storm Leader sincerely apologized, saying, "I'm sorry, I was being a fool back then and made you feel wronged. Can you forgive me?"

Is this feeling of heartache what it means to feel wronged?

Reinhardt nodded, indicating that he understood. But soon after, he shook his head and gave a very precise answer:

"I cannot forgive you, Buster."

"These words weren't actually that hurtful, so much so that they're irreparable or unforgivable. But they're still in my mind, and whenever I think about them, I feel...unhappy."

“I don’t think I should be bearing these strange feelings, but they are indeed caused by you, so Buster, I think I can’t forgive you.”

"..."

Before the Storm Leader could answer, he thought for a moment and then silently added a sentence.

Even if you say 'maybe' now, it won't work.

-----------------------

Author's note: Buster (kissing the back of his hand) (kissing his calf) (kissing his belly): Please forgive me.

Reinhardt: ...

Whether I forgive you or not doesn't affect your taking advantage of me.
