Chapter 76 "A long time." "Let's go to bed."...
Celine plunged headlong into the ocean of knowledge, so engrossed that she forgot to eat and sleep, and even forgot that her companions included a leader and a son of the gods.
But she would occasionally regain her senses, her consciousness returning to reality, and she would instinctively turn to look for her two companions. There she found the leader standing at the door, arms crossed, looking impatient.
Like a stone gazing at his wife, the tall, burly man with deep furrows between his brows made Celine want to punch him and flatten him after looking at him for a while.
Out of consideration for her superiors, she took a tissue from her pocket and used it as a bookmark. Closing the book and holding it to her waist, she walked up to the Storm Leader.
"How long have you been inside?"
The Storm Leader was visibly impatient, not even sparing a glance; his head was fixed on the direction Reinhardt had left.
"long time."
How long is "a long time"?
Celine thought about the theory of relativity, but ultimately didn't ask.
Even if it's only a second, it feels like an hour to the person waiting.
Just as she turned her head to look in the direction Buster was gazing, a faint golden light suddenly appeared there.
Before Celine could react, the Storm Leader who had been waiting beside her seemed to walk on the wind, brushing past her in an instant. In the blink of an eye, he reached the corner where the golden light rose and then faded.
The old man... the old man had already come down ahead of time, making way for others to pass.
Celine watched as the Storm Leader slightly raised his hand towards the corner, and the next second, a slender hand covered by a black lace glove gently rested on his palm.
The furrows between his brows relaxed, and the Storm Leader, like a human being, even laughed.
He tightened his grip on Reinhardt's hand, which was wrapped in lace, and led her downstairs, her skirt billowing.
After a thorough and careful inspection, Buster confirmed that Reinhardt was unharmed, and only then did he feel relieved. His hand naturally circled Reinhardt's waist, and under the old man's complex gaze, he stood almost next to Reinhardt, lowered his head, and gently asked.
"Did they do anything to upset you?"
The old man secretly rolled his eyes at him.
Reinhardt, showing no sign of anything amiss, shook his head at Buster, then turned his head toward the old man, following the sound and the outline drawn by the white lines. He gave a composed and polite smile, and nodded slightly, saying, "Thank you."
The old man also bowed slightly, respectfully returning the greeting.
Celine walked over to them, her gaze still fixed on Reinhardt, just as she was with Buster, worried that he was being secretly bullied but keeping quiet. Before she could finish looking him over, Reinhardt took the initiative to speak to her.
Have you found any books you'd like to read?
Celine paused for a moment, then nodded.
"Well, the books here can't be borrowed. I'd like to leave them here. If you're heading back, you can go ahead."
The Storm Leader was about to ask Reinhardt for his opinion, but to his surprise, the quiet little potato turned his head toward him before he could even speak.
"Can we stay here a little longer?"
strangeness.
Buster instinctively sensed something was amiss. Reinhardt was a reserved person; he habitually suppressed his own desires and hid his thoughts. He would think for a long time before slowly bringing them up, and sometimes he wouldn't say anything at all. If Buster hadn't discovered and uncovered it, he might have let those needs slip away.
But at this moment he seemed very calm. Although this was a good thing, Buster still found it a little strange.
But Buster was still very happy; he desperately wanted Reinhardt to express his needs and to open up.
So the Storm Lord nodded readily; in fact, one would say he was excited and responded enthusiastically to Reinhardt's request.
"Can!"
If Reinhardt wanted to, he could call in a gang of military bandits and rob the whole place!
The second half of the sentence was left unsaid, mainly because he was worried that Reinhardt might think he lacked manners and stop liking him later.
Although the old man disliked Buster Grand, a rude man, he greatly admired the polite and scholarly Celine, as well as the beautiful, humble, and courteous Reinhardt. Therefore, he welcomed them to stay.
"Beyond the Cloud Library is the residential area for rest. There are still vacant rooms available. You can stay as long as you want."
The Cloud Library is never xenophobic. They live in seclusion simply because they fear the chaos of the lower world will destroy the precious books in their collection. They are actually very happy to pass on and exchange knowledge. As long as someone truly desires knowledge, everyone and everything here will open their hearts and accept outsiders one hundred percent.
In fact, the people living in the cloud library now are all outsiders like Buster and his group.
Driven by a steadfast belief in pursuing knowledge, they climbed all the way here, finally settling down and becoming one of the guardians.
Celine was delighted and thanked the old man… no, she should call him the librarian. She smiled at Buster and Reinhardt, then eagerly returned to the small area she had found, plunging back into the sea of knowledge.
Reinhardt and Buster, guided by another young man, walked to the rest area behind the library.
The Cloud Library is more than just a library. Cloud is the name of this vast cloud island, which in fact still relies on muddy ground as its foundation.
There is only one library on the island, which occupies almost a quarter of the island's area. The remaining space is used for living and growing food.
Under the protection of a god symbolizing wisdom, the island enjoys a pleasant climate and fertile soil, and the few hundred or so people living on it do not have to worry about food, clothing, shelter, or transportation.
With knowledge as their spiritual pillar, they need no money and have no other desires. They simply spend their days with knowledge and live a carefree and fulfilling life.
The young man who was leading them took them to a secluded little house with few neighbors, but then, being too timid, he hurriedly fled, leaving Reinhardt and Buster behind.
Buster chuckled and looked at the somewhat dilapidated little house in front of him.
“It’s a bit dilapidated, but it looks habitable.” With his hands on his hips, Buster turned to Reinhardt. “Alright, kid. Can you tell me what you heard after you went in? You’ve been sullen the whole way. Don’t think I didn’t notice just because you kept your mouth shut.”
"Did he tell you where the eyes are? Could they have already been destroyed...?"
"sorry."
Buster's heart skipped a beat at Reinhardt's sudden apology.
He was worried that this dullard might say something shocking next, but he was relieved after hearing Reinhardt's words.
"He told me that even if I found the eyes, I would not be able to bring back the souls of the deceased."
Buster, who had been prepared, appeared even more magnanimous at this moment. The handsome, rugged man crossed his arms and took two steps toward Reinhardt.
Maintaining his crossed arms, he bent down and peeked his head under the lady's hat brim, a slight smile on his face.
“It’s alright, Reinhardt.”
“I’ve done my best, and so have you, so there’s no need to blame yourself.” He lifted Reinhardt’s hat up a little and looked gently at Reinhardt’s face.
"I will continue to try other methods and look for other ways. What you need to do is put this matter aside and be happy with me, okay?"
Reinhardt did not answer whether it was yes or no.
"Buster".
He just murmured softly.
"Let's go to bed."

Author's Note: Buster: He should have been relaxed and at ease, but upon hearing the invitation, he hurriedly scrambled to Reinhardt's side.
Madonna: ...What a pathetic pervert.
