Chapter 32: Thirty-two Untitled
Everything should be done in excess.
Song Fenglin actually understood this truth when he was very young, but he had a deeper understanding after waking up the next day.
The moment his feet touched the ground, he felt his lower limbs were out of control, and his whole body felt like he was stepping on cotton. He couldn't feel whether he had touched the ground or not at all.
For safety reasons, he reached out to hold on to the wall and used the leverage to stand firmly.
It would be even more fatal to actually stand up and take him down. Song Fenglin took a breath of cold air.
He gritted his teeth and took a step forward, and it took him a while to get used to it.
Chen Yun was steaming breakfast in the kitchen. When she went into the room to wash up, she saw his strong back and asked, "What's wrong?"
Song Fenglin couldn't help sucking in his stomach and sticking out his chest: "It's okay."
Yeah? Chen Yun looked him up and down, but didn't see anything unusual at first.
She turned around and took clothes from the closet, throwing her T-shirt over her shoulders.
This outfit seems more casual than her usual work outfit, and it doesn't look like she has an appointment today.
Song Fenglin suggested quietly: "Don't wear a skirt?"
Chen Yun paused: "That's fine."
She changed into a dress with floral patterns, like a ray of light in spring.
Song Fenglin half leaned against the wall and praised: "It looks very good."
His words never sound like excessive praise, but rather sincere, like evidence presented in court.
Chen Yun was of course happy, but still sharp: "Why are you standing crookedly today?"
Song Fenglin felt a dull pain on the inside of his thigh, not sure if it was the bone or the muscle, but he said stubbornly, "It's okay."
Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
Chen Yun was not the type to get to the bottom of things, so he didn't ask any more questions.
She walked out while combing her hair, and did not hear the slight chuckle from the person beside her.
Song Fenglin just didn't want to admit that he felt uncomfortable after exercising, thinking that it would get better in a couple of days.
There is nothing special about him except that he is always good at pretending to be calm with his strong will.
After finishing breakfast, Chen Yun didn't think anything was wrong with him. She piled up the empty dishes and said, "I'll clean up. Call me when you're ready at the company."
Song Fenglin responded and took the two children to school.
Chen Xingyue was particularly lively today, jumping and skipping as she walked, and was almost pulled down by her father.
Song Fenglin couldn't hold on any longer: "Xingxing, slow down."
He called out to him, but Chen Xingyue couldn't do it at all.
The seven-year-old girl was very happy and rushed to the teacher first.
Chen Xinyang's legs are two inches shorter, so he jogged after his sister.
He was still carrying an empty schoolbag, which kept swaying left and right, making people think he was going to fall down at any moment.
Song Fenglin wanted to take some precautions in advance, but just raising his arms made his bones numb, so he just opened his mouth and said, "Yangyang, slow down."
If children were obedient, they would be unworthy of being called the world's biggest time bomb.
But as long as I can send my two children to kindergarten, I feel like I have lifted a heavy burden.
Song Fenglin sent a message to his wife as usual to update the situation, and checked his phone while walking to the company
Perhaps because it was the last day, his mood became more complicated with every step he took, hoping for a reply to attract his attention.
However, he stared at the screen again and again, and there were only some insignificant "disturbances", and every vibration raised and then flattened his expectations.
Song Fenglin felt depressed for no reason and felt that he was hurt both physically and mentally today.
His face was so expressionless that it was difficult for him to force out even a polite smile, and he walked into the office stiffly.
The space that was once filled with his personal belongings has gradually become empty, like an ant moving house, except for a pen on the table.
Song Fenglin took it, signed all the handover documents, put it in his pocket and left.
He was very cool when he left, but when he stood in front of the elevator he wanted to look back.
But looking at it a few more times would only add to the conversation among my colleagues during lunch today.
Song Fenglin didn't want to be a part of the story. He straightened his back even more and imagined himself exuding the aura of waving his sleeves without taking away a cloud.
However, his definition of himself was so wrong that when the door of the elevator that Chen Yun was riding in opened in front of him, he thought he had a stray puppy at home.
She stretched out her hand and bowed, "Please come in."
Song Fenglin actually took a step back, then reacted and moved forward like dancing tango.
He sounded like he was complaining and acting like a spoiled child: "You don't have time to ignore me."
Why are you still aggrieved? Chen Yun: "Of course I have. Today the earth revolves around you."
Song Fenglin's heart was soothed, and the itching feeling just now disappeared.
He pressed the first floor button, waited for the door to slowly close, and said, "Where do you want to go?"
Chen Yun: "Although I already have an idea, I still want to symbolically ask for your opinion first."
Song Fenglin smiled: "I'll do whatever you say."
He has lived in Pingjiang for more than ten years, but the places he is familiar with are becoming fewer and fewer. He usually goes out with his family or just follows the main group.
Chen Yun knew this was the answer: "Let's eat pancakes first, then go to Xingguanghui for a walk, have steak for lunch, go to Jiangxin Park to see the swans in the afternoon, and then pick up the kids."
Song Fenglin nodded and remembered: "Did we go to the center of the river together when we first met?"
Chen Yun was vague: "Is that so?"
After more than thirty years of life, her brain capacity has been overwhelmed.
Song Fenglin recalled more details: "Yes, we went boating. The oars didn't obey us and we drifted for a long time."
He was born in the northwest, and when he was young all he saw was the Gobi Desert. The largest expanse of water he had ever seen was when he went to the Summer Palace during college. He could only barely master swimming, let alone something as difficult as rowing.
Chen Yun exclaimed, "I remember now. I was drifting away while losing my temper, thinking that I would never meet you again."
No one would feel better than her after spending an hour or so in the sun.
Song Fenglin was surprised: "But we started dating not long after that."
He thought that their relationship was heating up and progressing smoothly.
Chen Yun: "Because it was me who suggested rowing, I'm sorry to be angry for too long."
As a human being, you have to be reasonable.
Song Fenglin praised: "You have a really good temper."
Chen Yun knew her own limitations. She nudged him with her elbow and asked casually, "How do you feel now?"
As soon as the two people crossed the zebra crossing, they looked back and saw the name of the company that was once linked to Song Fenglin's fate. If they counted carefully, they could even locate the office.
Many nights when he worked overtime and there was no one around, he would stand by the floor-to-ceiling window and look down.
So this is what it feels like to look up from below, as if you don’t know what year it is, and your life is split into two spaces.
Song Fenglin: “It’s hard to describe.”
In fact, he is a very sentimental person and doesn't like to change his surroundings easily.
He said quitting his job was an understatement, but in his heart it was probably a magnitude nine earthquake.
Chen Yun originally had a few words of comfort in mind, but they suddenly seemed superficial.
She said, "Song Fenglin."
In fact, she usually likes to call him by his full name, but it seems to have a different meaning at this moment.
Song Fenglin turned his head to look at her, his lips inadvertently raised a gentle arc, and asked with his eyes "What?"
Chen Yun seemed to sigh: "Why do you smile when you see me?"
She knew how much she meant to him, and deep down she felt a trace of regret.
Song Fenglin said calmly: "I am happy to see you."
He understood her intention and said, "It's much better now."
Chen Yun: "Then take a look. I won't charge you."
Song Fenglin can also be humorous: "Even if you want to collect it, I don't have any money."
How is that possible? Chen Yun: "That's not right. I haven't received the money from your share transfer yet."
Even though she knew it wouldn't happen, she still crossed her arms deliberately: "Are you trying to hide your private money?"
Song Fenglin: "Mr. He said there is a limit. There is still one transfer today. I will give it to you when the amount is all."
He added: “I never felt that it was my money.”
He said this as if someone was exploiting him.
Chen Yun: "Of course it's yours. I'll spend some money on you today."
Song Fenglin's hands and feet were still sore, but he didn't forget his plan: "Then buy a set of sportswear."
Chen Yun waved her hand and said, "Buy a few more sets to wear."
Song Fenglin: "No, it would be a waste if I lose weight later."
If Chen Yun talks about losing weight, then she must first buy clothes that she will wear when she loses weight.
She said, "You can definitely lose weight."
Song Linfenglin has all the good qualities such as perseverance and persistence.
He was very confident in himself and even planned to use his abdominal muscles to masturbate people one day.
Chen Yun didn't know she would have such good luck this year, and was the first to push open the door of the brunch shop.
The petty bourgeois style she has is very consistent with Ningjiang, a city full of sycamore trees. Especially when she is sitting by the window and contrasting with the street view, she seems to be covered by a layer of past.
Song Fenglin was not good at describing things in words, and he felt that it was inappropriate to add himself to the atmosphere.
He went to the bathroom and was too embarrassed to destroy it when he came back, so he stopped a few steps away.
Chen Yun lowered her head to study the menu. After ordering, she was bored and propped up her head to look out the window.
Her hair hung softly, swaying like the branches on the roadside blown by the wind.
Song Fenglin took out his mobile phone to take a picture just in time, and by chance captured the moment when she looked back.
Chen Yun was about to call him, but seeing his actions, she braked and pursed her lips, revealing a small dimple.
Adhering to the spirit of taking more photos and making fewer mistakes, Song Fenglin pressed the shutter button as if it was free.
After all, his level is not enough in quality but he makes up for it in quantity. At least he is a slightly taller person among the short ones.
He was enjoying the photo shoot. Chen Yun's face was almost frozen with laughter. She slumped her shoulders and stretched out her hand: "Let me see."
Song Fenglin patched it first: "A few of them should be OK."
Chen Yun had no expectations: "It would be nice to have one."
She pushed her hair back: "Fortunately, I am naturally beautiful."
Song Fenglin: "Yeah, very beautiful."
He was really supportive and his support was very sincere.
Chen Yun's self-confidence swelled, and she happily returned the phone to him: "Send them all to me, I want them all."
Song Fenglin took over the operation.
He pressed it too quickly just now and didn't see her expression clearly. Now he looked at her carefully and found that she smiled the first second she saw him - her eyes curved a little and her cheeks puffed up slightly.
He showed it again: "You look best smiling in this picture."
Chen Yun fixed her eyes: "Isn't this a blank expression on my face?"
Song Fenglin said firmly: "He was laughing."
If he said yes, then it was yes, and Chen Yun didn't argue with him.
The meal she ordered arrived just in time, and she had no time to talk to anyone. She was just trying to figure out which angle would allow her to better capture the dish presentation.
Her smile at this moment was also very good, but Song Fenglin privately felt that the one he just took was better.
He simply set the photo as the screen, thinking that even though he couldn't fit into such a beautiful composition, her world was still one with his.
