Chapter 84 Tomorrow
There is something magical about Internet cafes, which is that once people sit down, they have to eat some junk food.
Less than 24 hours after Chen Yun made her weight loss declaration, she felt bad for contradicting herself so quickly. She pretended to look at the menu and said, "I only had instant noodles before, but now there are so many options."
Even without her mentioning it, Song Fenglin could see her purpose and took the initiative to say, "I haven't eaten in the Internet cafe yet."
This is what I want. Chen Yun: "Then I'll give you some."
Then he reluctantly said: "You can give me what you can't eat."
In fact, she took the first bite of the meal when it was served to her. After she finished eating, she realized that she had forgotten to put it away, and her hand stopped in mid-air.
Song Fenglin put a straw in the Coke and passed it to her mouth: "Are you choking?"
If someone takes care of you day in and day out, it's understandable that you always act like a queen.
Chen Yun went back on her word with a clear conscience, finishing off most of the food by herself, and even flattered herself: "The calories are too high, I can't let it hinder your weight loss."
Song Fenglin thanked her and was hit.
There was still some oil on Chen Yun's claws, leaving a little mark on his clothes.
She said, "I'll wash it for you tonight."
Song Fenglin was not a very particular person. He thought that others would think it was splashed with water, so he said, "It's okay. It's too big anyway. I won't wear it anymore."
Chen Yun had just finished her meal and couldn't bear to hear this, so she covered her ears and said, "It's true that other people's success is the most worrying."
When Song Fenglin heard these two words, he felt as if someone had knocked him on the forehead, and a bitter feeling rose in his heart. However, he knew that she was just saying it casually and did not mean to classify him as an irrelevant person.
Knowing only means that it can be understood intellectually, but it cannot prevent the emotional emptiness from becoming greater.
After a long time, Song Fenglin remembered the long-distance girlfriend of his college roommate.
Girls love to check on their boyfriends and call them several times a day. If they hear back a message a little late, they will make a series of calls, asking their boyfriends “Do you not love me anymore” because of the smallest change.
The roommates soon became tired of dealing with it, and the two broke up not long after. Several classmates who knew about the situation said, "I couldn't stand it anymore," but Song Fenglin was the only one who didn't think so and even tried to speak up for the girl.
Unfortunately, his own thoughts could not compete with those of the masses. Although he was not convinced, he knew one fact: most people would be suffocated by such emotional demands, and then struggle to break free from the rope around their necks and breathe the fresh air outside.
Song Fenglin didn't want to follow in that girl's footsteps, so he had to restrain himself and suppress all the irrational emotions in his heart.
But he didn't know what was normal in his standards, so he could only beat them all to death and pretend that nothing happened.
Chen Yun didn't know he could think so much, so she stood up and stretched her body: "Shall we go for a walk later?"
Song Fenglin said as a matter of course: "Okay."
Chen Yun felt that he was speaking a little listlessly, so she did what she was most familiar with in the past few days and tested the temperature of his forehead: "No fever."
But I changed my mind: "Forget it, go back to bed early."
Song Fenglin didn't want to interfere with her plan, so he said, "Let's take a walk. I haven't exercised for several days."
He was really passionate about losing weight, and his determination and perseverance were admirable. Chen Yun gave him a thumbs up: "You are worthy of it."
When she gave him a casual compliment, Song Fenglin perked up again, as if it was a supreme gift.
His joys and sorrows were all controlled by her. He was not sad at all about this situation where his fate was not in his own hands. Instead, he enjoyed it.
Those tiny changes in emotions were like flowing air, and Chen Yun stretched out her hand as if she could capture something.
She blinked in confusion, probably not being able to figure out anything meaningful from her intuition, and simply sat down to watch TV again.
Not long after, a countdown prompt popped up on the screen.
Chen Yun couldn't help but sigh: "The only thing that hasn't changed is that every time I come here, I feel like time passes so quickly."
Song Fenglin: "Will you come again next time?"
Chen Yun smacked her lips and said, "The fried chicken steak is pretty good."
Song Fenglin couldn't help laughing: "This is not a restaurant."
Black cat or white cat, they are all good cats.
As long as the food is good, it’s a restaurant.
Chen Yun said confidently: "I will take it as it is."
Song Fenglin thought it made a lot of sense, nodded in agreement, picked up her bag and said, "Let's go."
The two of them walked outside together and were struck by the temperature difference between indoors and outdoors.
The August wind carries the aftertaste of midsummer. After the sun sets, the heat is still spreading from the ground, and even the wind that blows does not carry a trace of kindness.
Chen Yun tutted and turned her head away: "Alternating between hot and cold, if you feel uncomfortable you must tell me."
Song Fenglin just had a minor illness, but she almost treated him like a porcelain doll.
The empty space in his heart was filled again, and he said, "It's really okay now."
He would say it's okay even if the sky falls.
Chen Yun snorted and didn't look at him, just walked forward.
Song Fenglin followed and called her name softly.
The air was sticky, and the tail end of his words seemed to have a small hook, vaguely entangling people.
Chen Yun felt like she was about to be caught by him, but she still swung her arms, which were originally hanging naturally, slightly backwards, with only her little finger raised to let him hook it.
After a while I felt that the position was a bit uncomfortable, so I changed to holding his hand.
Song Fenglin naturally held her fingers and tried to find a topic to talk about: "I'll go to the store with you tomorrow?"
Chen Yun: "Okay."
She counted something on her fingers and immediately changed her words: "No, you have to go to Xingxing School to hand in your textbooks tomorrow morning."
Song Fenglin: “I almost forgot.”
The two were discussing their daughter's suitability for starting school. When they passed by the square, they noticed some new decorations and stopped to look at the billboards.
Song Fenglin glanced from left to right and asked: "Does the handmade space mean selling small handicrafts?"
Chen Yun checked the time: "It should be. It's tomorrow night, would you like to come and have a look?"
Song Fenglin has absolutely no interest in any handicrafts. He has almost no artistic talent, and the field involving aesthetics is like a different world to him.
But he knew Chen Yun would definitely like it, so he said, "Then I'll pick you up from get off work tomorrow night, and we'll eat outside, and come over after dinner."
This time it was Chen Yun's turn to say yes. After nodding, she suddenly asked, "Do you have anything to do tomorrow afternoon?"
Song Fenglin: "Zhensheng said he was coming to attend the meeting, I'm going to meet him."
Chen Yun: "It's rare for you to see each other, why don't you have dinner together?"
Song Fenglin: "Just sit for a while, he's in a hurry to go back."
This is too rushed, coming and going in a hurry.
Chen Yun: "You're still so busy during summer vacation."
Colleges and universities are ivory towers for students, but for workers, there is no pure land anywhere and no one has an easy life.
Song Fenglin: "It's quite tiring."
It was not easy for Chen Yun to agree with him, so she took him for a walk around the square for several laps before going home.
A house without children is so empty that even words echo.
Chen Yun hadn't felt the world was so quiet for a long time, as if every minute and every second of this ordinary leisure was stolen from somewhere, but she couldn't help but miss the people who were connected to her by blood: "I feel annoyed when the children are around, and I miss them too much when they are not around."
Song Fenglin was a little addicted to the almost whole day of being alone together. He said, "This is pretty good."
Chen Yun also felt that she had a good day today, and she talked a lot when she was happy.
She started talking about her child's embarrassing childhood and the craziest classmate in junior high school. The clock struck twelve and she stopped talking. She pulled the quilt over her and said, "Stop talking. Good night."
Song Fenglin finally found an opportunity to speak and asked, "Would you like some water?"
Chen Yun was really thirsty, so she waited for him to bring her some. But she felt like she was being too bossy, so she said, "It's okay if you don't drink."
Song Fenglin: "You'd better drink a little, otherwise your throat will hurt tomorrow."
Chen Yun thought about it and sat cross-legged on the bed waiting for him.
She was so ungrateful that even she found the sound of her thank you so cheesy.
Song Fenglin was very impressed by this. He stood by the bed and touched her head with his free hand: "You're welcome."
The lights in the room were not on, and the light from the corridor was projected in, turning into his shadow, covering him from all sides.
Perhaps it was the posture that required looking up and the blurry face in the backlight that made Chen Yun's mind run through the plots of several novels she had read - the less serious parts.
Just thinking about it made her exclaim.
Song Fenglin: "What did you say?"
Chen Yun casually brushed it off, gave him the cup and lay down.
Song Fenglin didn't think much about it, he just thought it was so late and it was time to go to bed.
