114 Schemes Within Schemes

Yun Zhe's plan was simple: have Hamelin make the deal, and then everyone would swarm in and take care of the other party.

It's too simple, the plan is too simple. There's not a single fancy detail, it's pure and direct.

Gao stared at the table in front of him with some disappointment. He had thought it would be a particularly complicated and ingenious plan, but he hadn't expected it to be so simple.

Hamelin, however, felt the plan was a bit far-fetched. She strongly suspected that Yun Zhe wanted her to go and die.

Yun Zhe looked at everyone and knew they were very dissatisfied with the plan.

"Once the hunters arrive, Gao and Lorraine, you two take your men and guard the outer edge of the forest. Ellie, find a high spot. I and two hunters will follow behind you. Once we see Akdina, we'll make our move."

"Will you make it in time?" Hamelin tightened his clothes and asked with great doubt.

"The key is this: Yun Zhe threw the two-handed sword behind him onto the table, and it was exactly the same as Hamelin's."

Everyone stared at the two swords, not quite understanding what the key point was.

"As long as they see this sword, they will believe that mine is the real one, and then it will be too late."

Everyone looked at Yun Zhe, still not quite understanding. Although Hamelin didn't understand, he sensed something: Yun Zhe was clearly using himself as bait to catch these two fish.

"This isn't stupidity, it's overconfidence. If it were me, I definitely wouldn't do that. Putting myself in a dangerous situation, especially for a stranger, is something a normal person would do?"

Hamelin immediately realized that no one would do such a thing; Yun Zhe must have some kind of conspiracy.

Yun Zhe did indeed have a conspiracy, but it wasn't aimed at Hamelin; it was aimed at the two vampires. He was eager to know about the duke, the more details the better.

Therefore, Yun Zhe's plan was to capture at least one vampire alive. As for the other parts of the plan, Yun Zhe didn't reveal them. Each person involved in the plan only knew their part.

Because there are very few people you can trust in this operation. Neither Hamelin nor the Hunters, and those you can trust are not reliable in terms of strength.

So Yun Zhe had no choice but to do this: divide the tasks and have each person take charge of one part.

The group fell silent and began to act according to Yun Zhe's plan.

Yun Zhe saw Livia and Jerok again. It was clear that these two already knew who Ellie and he were. So Yun Zhe stopped hiding his true intentions and told them everything, revealing his true thoughts.

“This plan is somewhat risky,” Jerok said in a low voice.

“Indeed, the only variable in this matter is how obsessed they are with this sword. If they aren’t so determined to get it, it will definitely be very difficult.” Yun Zhe’s expression was also not relaxed.

"What if they run away?"

Yun Zhe sighed softly, "Then we can only let Hamelin leave here with the two swords." Yun Zhe pursed his lips; he hadn't actually thought of a better way if the other party didn't take the bait.

"Let's do it!" Jerok wanted to say something more, but felt it was unnecessary to say anything at this moment, so he simply slung his longsword over his shoulder and took the lead into the woods.

Livia and Ellie hugged tightly, then walked together into the woods.

Outside the door, Lorraine and Gao each led a team, their expressions grave as they walked in another direction.

Yun Zhe glanced at Hamelin and gestured for him to proceed.

Hamelin hadn't figured out what Yun Zhe's scheme was, but things had already come to this point, and there was no time for her to think about it anymore.

Hamelin took a few steps, then suddenly stopped. She looked at Yun Zhe, her eyes filled with sorrow, "If things get out of control, at least ensure Akdina's safety."

Looking at Hamelin's eyes, which were half sad and half desperate, Yun Zhe hesitated for a moment, then said, "I'll do my best."

Hamelin nodded, as if relieved, and quickened his pace.

In the woods, Daniel was the first to spot Hamelin approaching, dragging his longsword. He looked at Deborah and gestured for her to look around.

Deborah nodded, then vanished in a flash. A few minutes later, Deborah returned and nodded to Daniel.

Daniel breathed a sigh of relief, a smug smile spreading across his face. Hamelin had come in person, and his son wasn't even nearby—that was quite interesting.

“Oh, Hamelin, I really didn’t expect you to come alone. I thought you would come with your child.”

Hamelin's eyes darkened, and then he said, "He can't come."

Daniel guessed that Hamelin must have felt that things were going badly this time, so he wanted to take all the blame himself and give the children a way to survive.

"How naive, Hamelin," Daniel thought to himself with a sneer.

"Is your stuff real?"

Hamelin's eyes turned cold. "I want to see Akdina first."

“Oh, so her name is Akdina. What a nice name.” Daniel waved his hand, and Hamelin saw Deborah drag Akdina out.

Akdina was covered in blood, her clothes were tattered, and she showed no signs of being alive.

Daniel glanced at Hamelin, who was looking furious, and spread his hands apologetically. "I'm sorry, your daughter is very disobedient, but she's still alive, so don't worry."

Hamelin's chest heaved as he stared intently at Daniel and Deborah. Then he slammed the sword to the ground. "Here's the sword. I'm taking them."

Daniel looked at Hamelin but did not reach for the sword.

Hamelin's eyes were unfriendly.

Daniel sneered, "I already told you, Hamelin, is this sword of yours real?"

Hamelin gasped for breath as she slowly approached the sword and bent down to pick it up.

Daniel lunged forward, his aim straight for Hamelin's head.

Clearly, he had underestimated Hamelin. Daniel charged halfway, then abruptly veered to the side. Hamelin, anticipating this, slashed his longsword directly at Daniel's waist.

The blow missed, but Hamelin had clearly made up his mind. He swung his sword again, aiming at Daniel once more.

“Hey, bitch, look here!” Deborah suddenly grabbed Akdina’s head and pretended to twist it off.

Hamelin glanced at it, his hand slowed, but he still slashed down hard.

But for a vampire, that one second's delay is enough.

The situation reversed, and Hamelin was kicked to the ground by Daniel. Daniel then drew his crossbow and prepared to shoot him in the head.

At the last second, an arrow shot towards Daniel's face, causing him to lose his aim and the arrow struck Hamelin's ear instead.

Daniel looked in the direction from which the arrows had come, and then he was horrified to see a barrage of arrows.

They shot at him in a continuous stream.
