Yun Zhe hadn't expected so many people to come see him today. After seeing Blake off, Arthas came to see him again, and then Philby came over as well.
In short, as the sun began to set and Yun Zhe saw Philby off, an unprecedented weariness filled his body and mind.
Meanwhile, in the house furthest from Yun Zhe's, Newrent and Sinde were also busy making their way around. By the end of the day, they had essentially formed a defensive alliance. They had also figured out where they would go even if Serena disagreed with the marriage. In short, regardless of the outcome, they had already found a good home.
Of course, no one else knew any of this except the two of them. Yun Zhe was more curious about whether Serena had her own thoughts on rejecting the marriage proposal, and whether she had any premonition about what would happen after the rejection.
Yun Zhe, who was squatting by the door watching the sunset, saw Leibniz and his two companions. They had gone out to scout and returned a little earlier than usual.
Leibnier was the first to jump off his horse and run to Yun Zhe's side. "My lord," he said, "it's strange. The elves didn't search extensively today. They're preparing timber and boats. It seems they want to cross the river?"
Yun Zhe threw down the grass in his hand and stood up abruptly. "Tell me in detail!"
Leibniz scratched his head. "Sir, there's really nothing to say. They're just arranging the logs and surveying the water level; they're clearly planning to cross the river..."
"Did they all cross the river, or only some of them? Were they in a hurry to cross or not? Were they on guard against crossing? Were they really crossing or just pretending? Besides you, did you encounter any other people? Were you discovered?"
Leibniz stood there stunned. Just then, Mobik and Chad came to their side. They had heard Yun Zhe's question, and the three of them looked at each other, clearly unsure of what to do...
Yun Zhe was furious. How could he not understand something so simple? But he quickly calmed down.
"If only we could capture a prisoner." Yun Zhe waved his hands repeatedly as he looked at the three men's ashamed expressions. "Asking you to capture a prisoner might be asking too much. It's alright. At least we know they're going to cross the river, so at least that information is accurate."
Yun Zhe paused for a moment, then said, "Go and tell Arthas what happened today. You've worked hard. Come back for dinner later."
The three felt as if they had been granted a pardon and quickly left.
Yun Zhe rubbed his temples, his good mood from watching the sunset completely gone. The elf's actions were truly unexpected. He had already prepared to lead everyone to escape, but the elf himself had retreated first.
Yun Zhe repeatedly pondered the information he had received, and after much thought, he still felt that asking an elf was the most reliable approach.
Just then, a bundle of firewood appeared before Yun Zhe. Yun Zhe was taken aback, and then saw the exhausted-looking Jelock. He had been learning how to be a vegetarian from Ellie recently, and because of his recent conversion, he hadn't fully overcome the psychological hurdle, so he looked tired and weak from lack of rest.
Upon seeing him, Yun Zhe's eyes lit up. "Jerok, you're coming out with me tonight, I need your help!"
Completely unprepared, the exhausted Jerok paused for a moment, then mechanically nodded.
Yun Zhe grinned awkwardly. He didn't actually intend to control Jelock. "Don't let Ellie know!" Yun Zhe added, thinking that things were already like this anyway.
Jerok nodded mechanically again.
"I'm coming to see you tonight. Don't go out. Wait for my message!" Yun Zhe had just finished saying this when he saw Arthas walking towards him. Knowing that Serena was about to have a meeting, he ignored Jerok and hurried over.
Jerok continued to nod mechanically, then turned around and saw Ellie with her arms crossed and an angry expression. Clearly, Ellie had heard everything Yun Zhe and Jerok had said.
Just as Ellie was about to explode, she saw Philby walking towards her in the distance. She had no choice but to swallow the words she wanted to say.
Meanwhile, Newrent and Sind also headed towards Serena's house together. Knowing that a fierce debate was brewing that evening, they both drank large glasses of water before leaving. At that moment, both were mentally preparing their speeches for the meeting and anticipating potential problems.
In the distance, billowing dust rose as a troop of cavalry galloped towards them at high speed.
The villagers who first spotted the cavalry were so frightened that they scrambled back into their houses. Then they discovered that these cavalrymen, these menacing cavalrymen, were actually humans, not elves.
The villagers breathed a sigh of relief.
Yun Zhe, who had assumed the elven cavalry had outflanked him, breathed a sigh of relief upon recognizing the enemy's banner. The newcomer was none other than Andrew.
As Sind watched his brother stride toward them with cavalry and infantry, he felt extremely uneasy.
Andrew led half a hundred cavalrymen and a whole squadron of pikemen. They were well-equipped and their armor was intact, indicating they had been resupplyed.
The loud noise also prompted Serena to come out of the house, where she saw Andrew leading his troops charging towards them.
Then, he raised his hand in confusion, signaling the troops to halt. He saw some familiar faces, and he was surprised to see them here, because these were the people he was looking for, and according to what he knew, they should all be trapped by the elves. His initial purpose in coming here was simply to reach this village before nightfall, get some rest, and then gather some supplies.
The cavalrymen began to slow their pace, advancing slowly like a wall, a truly magnificent sight.
However, Serena frowned. She didn't think Andrew's appearance at this moment was unexpected. She couldn't help but clench the hem of her clothes, her chest heaving, as she stared intently at Andrew and his troops rushing towards her.
The others, however, were quite optimistic, though they were more worried that Andrew's high profile would attract the elves' attention. Oh, the elves have already started crossing the river to Lunlang's house; then there's nothing to worry about.
Andrew finally recognized the two girls standing at the door; one of them was Serena. He dismounted and led his horse toward Serena.
Only after Andrew solemnly performed a bow did Serena completely relax. Then, both of them looked at each other with surprised expressions.
"Aren't you trapped?"
What are you doing here?
Andrew glanced around; everyone there was a familiar face: Philby, Black, Zade, Newrent, Sinde, and… Yun Zhe?!
Then Andrew suddenly remembered that this place should be called River Valley Village, which was Yun Zhe's fiefdom!
“We were all so worried about you, Andrew, but look at you now! Hi!” Philby was the first to rush over and give Andrew a big hug, followed by Zade, Newrent, Hind…
Blake didn't go forward; he kept looking at the cavalry and the infantry, who didn't look like a defeated force at all.
Blake turned his head and saw Yun Zhe looking at him. The same thought crossed their minds simultaneously: in the past two days, a tremendous change had occurred outside, and they were completely unaware of it!
