Chapter 206 Miracle

Everything is ready, except for the east wind.

Today is the day of the investiture ceremony for Baron Yun Zhe. Although everything is kept simple, and even Serena, who should have been present, is replaced by Gao, the atmosphere of the entire ceremony is even more enthusiastic.

Looking at the soldiers lined up fairly neatly in the square, and at the Donic flag that had just been lowered from the main flagpole of the castle, Yun Zhe couldn't help but feel a faint sense of pride.

Indeed, in less than half a year after transmigrating, he had become a person with a title. Recalling his experiences over the past six months, Yun Zhe suddenly realized something interesting: almost all of the past six months had been spent in war.

Indeed, without the war, he might not have achieved the glory and status he enjoys today.

Yun Zhe frowned slightly, his earlier sense of pride diminishing considerably. Looking again at the brand-new blue flag, a sudden heaviness settled in his heart.

As if to confirm Yun Zhe's feelings, as the process proceeded, the already gray sky was shrouded in thick clouds, and the sky became very dark. Several generals even began to whisper among themselves, discussing whether to raise the flag at this moment.

The soldiers, looking at the gray sky, felt a sense of oppression. The initial joy and excitement within and outside the castle had vanished, replaced by trepidation and unease. After all, for a person with a title to hold a ceremony on such an inauspicious day was unacceptable, especially given their simple and somewhat superstitious beliefs.

Yun Zhe could only smile wryly to himself. As someone who had transmigrated from another world, he naturally didn't believe in such weather omens. However, faced with everyone's thoughts, he couldn't directly point out that it was superstition and had no practical value. The only thing he could do was to use the overcast sky to his advantage. But making a fuss about it was difficult, and clearing his name about the overcast sky was equally difficult.

Yun Zhe continued to follow the procedure, and it was time for him to give the order to raise the flag.

The castle square fell silent. Gao leaned close to Yun Zhe and whispered, "If it doesn't work, we can postpone the flag-raising ceremony, or just skip it altogether."

Yun Zhe shook his head. He had already thought of a more encouraging message that should be able to smooth things over. If they didn't raise the flag now, it would only reinforce everyone's feelings and make it even harder to change their impression of today in the future.

As the bugle sounded, the flag was raised as scheduled. There wasn't a breath of wind in the air, and the flag slumped limply up the flagpole. The whole process seemed utterly devoid of any sense of ceremony.

The generals below the stage could no longer bear to watch. The soldiers, even more unabashed, began whispering and gossiping amongst themselves. They lacked the restraint of the generals, and some even harbored a hint of schadenfreude.

Yun Zhe could naturally sense what everyone was thinking. Although he was really annoyed by those gloating people, he had to pretend not to know and calmly endure this awkward moment.

As the flag gradually rose to the top, a sudden gust of wind arose. The flagpole swayed violently, and the flag unfurled abruptly.

The blue flag features a bright green hexagon in the center, and a bold, golden "Y" in the center of the hexagon divides the hexagon into three parts.

This flag had been kept secret. Its design was unique, unlike any family crest these people had ever seen. Therefore, Yun Zhe hadn't told anyone after designing it. Although secrets don't stay hidden forever, a gust of wind blew, and the flag was revealed in its entirety to everyone, eliciting gasps of amazement.

Yun Zhe felt a little better. It was much better for the flag to be fluttering in the wind than to be limply hanging on the flagpole.

But it seemed this was far from over. The wind continued to blow, the flag continued to flutter, and even the clouds began to shift. The thick clouds that had been blocking the sunlight cracked open in the wind, allowing a ray of sunlight to shine down, illuminating the flag and enveloping the entire flagpole in its glow. In the sunlight, the golden stripes on the flag shimmered, and the blue and green hues appeared vibrant and bright.

In an instant, the wind stopped, but the flags remained unfurled. A deafening roar of cheers erupted in the castle square.

"miracle!"

"Apocalypse!"

The generals and mercenary centurions who had been seated stood up, gazing at the flagpole and banner in the sunlight. They had forgotten their earlier worries and embarrassment; now, only awe and peace filled their hearts at witnessing this miracle.

The soldiers in the square expressed themselves more directly and strongly. Many soldiers ran to the flagpole and knelt down, and some even kissed the flagpole.

Yun Zhe did not stop them. He understood that what he was seeing was just a physical phenomenon, but Yun Zhe couldn't help but marvel at how timely it was, making him believe that there really were gods.

This world even has magic, so it shouldn't be surprising if there's a true god.

As Yun Zhe was thinking this, he saw that the generals behind him had all knelt on one knee, pledging their loyalty.

"This effect is much more effective than my clumsy speech," Yun Zhe thought, and couldn't help but thank God for this cooperation.
