Chapter 249 has come to a temporary end.

Thinking about the potential conflict between Ellie and Akdina, Yun Zhe felt a headache coming on. He couldn't afford to blame Jelock at this moment. He needed a good way to mediate between the two sides, especially Ellie.

Just as Yun Zhe was deep in thought, another messenger ran over, panting, and said, "Sir, there are two vampire hunters who say they are from the Vampire Hunter Association and that they want to discuss something with you."

It's like one problem after another. Yun Zhe hadn't even figured out how to persuade Ellie when the Vampire Hunter Association started causing trouble again.

"Gao, go talk to them and see what their demands are. If they're not too outrageous, agree to them. But if it involves money, drag it out as long as possible." After saying this, Yun Zhe waved his hand. "You all go ahead and get busy. I'm going to lie down for a while."

Seeing Yun Zhe's exhausted appearance, Gao felt a little strange. "Shouldn't we be happy that Ellie is coming? Why does the adult look so tired so quickly?"

But Gao didn't have time to gossip any further; he rushed off to deal with the Vampire Hunter Association members. In his memory, the Hunter Association was no easy organization to handle; his father had once lost his temper and cursed loudly after dealing with them. Clearly, Yun Zhe also knew how troublesome this organization was, which was why he had entrusted this matter to him.

Ignoring Gao's inner turmoil, Yun Zhe carefully considered how to resolve the conflict between Ellie and Akdina.

From Ellie's perspective, Yun Zhe would also find it difficult to convince himself to forgive Akdina. And from Akdina's perspective, she would probably find it equally difficult to surrender at this point.

"well……"

Yun Zhe sighed, then turned around and saw a familiar figure standing beside him. It was Ellie.

Yun Zhe suddenly jumped out of bed, then chuckled obsequiously and went to Ellie's side.

Ellie didn't seem as angry as Yun Zhe had imagined. She glared at Yun Zhe, then glanced around his tent and asked, "Where's that woman?"

Yun Zhe was already mentally prepared, "We parted ways when we entered the city, and I never saw him again."

Ellie glanced at Yun Zhe with distrust, "Didn't you go look for her?"

Yun Zhe quickly shook his head, "I've been staying in the military camp training these new recruits, I don't have time."

Ellie seemed dissatisfied with Yun Zhe's answer, and gave a soft hum, "Why didn't you tell me about her?"

Yun Zhe rubbed his hands together. "I haven't figured out how to resolve the conflict between you two. Besides, that girl is quite strange. I happen to have some questions for you."

Ellie paused, her voice stiffening. "Go ahead and ask."

Seeing that Ellie's mood was off, Yun Zhe became uneasy. "Do you think it's possible that when an older vampire exerts influence on a younger vampire, even after that influence is gone, the younger vampire is still unable to leave?"

Ellie was taken aback; she hadn't expected Yun Zhe to ask such a question. The question caught her off guard. She carefully recalled her experiences, and it seemed true. Escaping her initial clutches had been a difficult journey for her. Indeed, in the beginning, the distance made her want to go back. But this feeling wasn't forceful; it was a constant torment.

Ellie nodded, giving Yun Zhe a positive answer.

Yun Zhe scratched his head, saying with some regret, "So it was true after all. I always thought that girl was lying to me..."

Ellie seemed to understand something. She looked at Yun Zhe with questioning eyes.

"Sigh, I told her to leave in the first place, but she came back after all that. That's what she told me back then, so I had no choice but to keep her by my side."

Ellie felt a little better. She glanced at Yun Zhe and said, "That feeling wasn't one of coercion, but rather a very uncomfortable emptiness. It's not something that can't be overcome."

Upon hearing this, Yun Zhe's eyes lit up, but then dimmed again. "This girl has saved me twice. It doesn't seem appropriate to just send her away like this."

Ellie frowned.

After a long while, Yun Zhe saw that Ellie was silent, and looked over guiltily, only to see Ellie sitting in the chair, looking at him strangely.

"What's wrong?" Yun Zhe asked curiously.

Ellie sighed, "You don't look like someone who's four or five hundred years old at all."

Yun Zhe scratched his head awkwardly, thinking to himself, "I was just lucky to get into this body. Actually, I'm just a recent college graduate. I'm not even as knowledgeable as you, a seventy-year-old vampire."

Seeing Yun Zhe's embarrassed look, Ellie felt inexplicably happy. All the negative emotions she had felt earlier vanished. She looked at Yun Zhe with interest, then let out a long sigh, "You really want to mediate the conflict between us, right?"

Yun Zhe nodded. "Of course."

“Our conflict is irreconcilable, but if we never meet again in this life, I won’t be foolish enough to travel thousands of miles to hunt her down.” Ellie’s words were very straightforward, and Yun Zhe fell into deep thought after hearing them.

From Ellie's perspective, this was already a significant concession. Yun Zhe had to consider how to get Akdina away from him. Besides, Akdina was probably different from before; she shouldn't have any problem leaving on her own.

"Okay, I understand what you mean. I'll go talk to her now. With what you've said, I feel more confident."

Seeing that Yun Zhe didn't seem displeased or reluctant, Ellie felt much more at ease. "She saved you, how do you plan to repay her?"

"I don't know, I haven't thought about it yet, let's talk about it when we meet," Yun Zhe said as he walked out.
