The woman was overjoyed. She held up two fingers and said, "Sir, two girls and two gold coins."
This price is twice what Stanton asked for.
Yun Zhe touched his chest and then squeezed his purse. "Give me a discount, your two kids are too young."
The woman frowned slightly. "Sir, am I not good enough? Twenty silver coins is the lowest I can offer!"
Yun Zhe sighed softly. He took out a gold coin and ten silver coins and tossed them into the woman's hand.
The woman was extremely excited after receiving the money. She clutched it tightly to her hands, then checked it carefully at the tent entrance before contentedly putting it into her breast pocket. In her heart, she secretly mocked the man for not being able to count properly and for giving her two extra silver coins.
As for the two girls, she didn't even glance at them. She acted as if the transaction was completely settled.
Yun Zhe walked up to the two girls, who were around ten years old. They seemed to have known this day would come all along, as their eyes were filled with numbness. In the dim light from the tent, Yun Zhe could see that the girls had quite a few wounds on their bodies. Yun Zhe felt a pang of sadness and extended a hand. The older girl sniffed and took Yun Zhe's hand, pulling the other girl up with her.
"Come on, come with me," Yun Zhe said softly. He deliberately kicked open the other side of the tent, a movement that made the whole tent creak and shake, almost collapsing. Under the woman's furious yet daring gaze, he pulled the two girls out of the dark tent.
The setting sun was blinding, and the two girls covered their eyes, taking a long time to adjust.
