Chapter 6: Hero Saves the Beauty?

Yun Zhe held the wooden basket, his mind filled with questions.

What is an Aruruman, and why do I have a noble elf mother?

Although the diarist said very little about the worldview of this world, Yun Zhe can still roughly sort out a few key points.

First, this world has two continents: the Eastern Continent and the Western Continent. Yun Zhe's continent is the Western Continent. The Western Continent is mainly inhabited by four races: humans, elves, orcs, and dwarves. Among them, dwarves and elves are the longest-standing and most stable allies, while orcs, humans, elves, and dwarves have fought and made peace for thousands of years. However, the difference is that humans are more often at war, while orcs are more often at peace. But perhaps he didn't read carefully enough; the entire diary didn't mention anything about the Aruru people.

Elves and dwarves occupied the mountains and forests of the northwest side of the western continent. Orcs occupied some areas in the southwest and south. The rest of the land was human territory.

The diary seems to describe a very large war between humans and elves, but it doesn't seem to mention the outcome of the war.

The diary recorded the names of more than ten human dynasties, but because the order of their dates was uncertain and because the vampire had been lying there for so long, it was difficult to determine which country or dynasty Yun Zhe was currently in.

In addition, there are some records of magic and swordsmanship, but they are all mentioned in passing, and it is difficult to sort out anything useful.

"This vampire glosses over his defeats but raves about his victories. He has no sense of perspective," Yun Zhe muttered to himself. Thinking that the original owner of this body would probably hear him, he lowered his voice considerably for the last few words.

What takes an hour for an ordinary person is only a ten-minute walk for a vampire. Yun Zhe quickly spotted the dark mass of figures at the end of the road, clearly the place John had mentioned.

Yun Zhe stood at the entrance of the village, not in a hurry to go in, but straightening his clothes. Yun Zhe inadvertently touched his ear, which was pointed...

"With this name, your mother must have been an elven noblewoman..."

John's voice rang in his ears again.

"Dude, you've got some serious connections," Yun Zhe muttered to himself as he strolled into the village.

The village was completely dark, with only faint lights shining from inside the houses. As Yun Zhe walked by, the animals in the houses and yards made noticeably uneasy noises. This made Yun Zhe feel both smug and slightly worried. Following John's instructions, Yun Zhe walked along the dirt path in the village to its end, where he indeed saw four thatched huts connected together, clearly distinguishable from the other stone houses in the village.

Strangely, although the house was dilapidated, three tall horses were tied at the door.

Ignoring these oddities, Yun Zhe walked up to the door and banged on it.

A rustling sound came from inside the house, and a gruff male voice shouted angrily, "Who is it!"

The noise inside the house grew louder. Yun Zhe pricked up his ears and seemed to hear a woman crying and hurried footsteps. Judging from the sounds, at least three people were walking towards the door.

The door suddenly opened, and sure enough, three men jumped out looking menacing.

Yun Zhe took a step back, distancing himself from the three of them.

The one in the middle was of medium build, with a round face and eyes full of savagery. He was fat and dressed in gorgeous clothes, carrying a lantern. The two on either side were clearly servants, but they were burly and muscular, each holding a short sword, and were obviously skilled fighters.

Yun Zhe sniffed; he smelled the stench of blood. This stirred a strange longing within him. Fortunately, he could still suppress this longing with reason.

The medium-sized, overweight man swung his lamp forward, illuminating Yun Zhe's face. He then noticed Yun Zhe's pointed ears and the wooden basket in Yun Zhe's hand. He spat on the ground with extreme disdain.

"What are you doing here?" the fat man asked arrogantly. There were two steps leading up to the door of the house, and the fat man stood there, looking down at the door with a disdainful expression.

Yun Zhe shook the wooden basket in his hand. He didn't say anything.

"Interesting," the fat man grinned, his smile laced with a chilling undertone.

"Tie him up and sell him to the market tomorrow. If he dares to resist, kill him." With that, he turned and walked into the house without looking back.

"Damn it, you dare to disturb my mood? You deserve to die, you know? But I'm grateful for my mercy and leniency; I'm just selling you off, you bastard!"

Yun Zhe clearly felt a surge of anger rushing to his head. His body desperately wanted to rush forward and tear the fat man's throat apart. But would acting here cause trouble for John?

Yun Zhe's remaining rationality suppressed his bloodthirsty frenzy, and instead of rushing forward, he took another step back.

"How about we just teach him a lesson and not kill him?" Yun Zhe seemed to be negotiating with his body.

A woman's cries could be heard from inside the house, "Daddy...Daddy, wake up...Daddy..."

"Mommy... Waaaaaah..."

Yun Zhe frowned. Some unpleasant scenes were already flashing through his mind.

The fat man spat on the ground again, "Damn, you're awake?" Then he chuckled, "Damn, that's good. This time I can experience my brother's joy too, hahahahaha."

The fat man eagerly rushed into the house, where he heard the girl's screams and struggles.

Yun Zhe knew that at this point, he could not tolerate it any longer, and he had to finish the battle quickly.

As soon as this thought arose, Yun Zhe's body moved. He rushed to the nearest attendant, twisted his neck, opened his mouth, and drained the attendant dry, causing him to collapse to the ground.
