Forty-five returned to the Paz family

“Me?” Ellie’s eyes widened, then she glanced at Serena behind her. “You talk to her, she’ll be more effective.”

Yun Zhe turned around and glanced at Serena, only to meet her gaze.

"I do have a plan, but will they listen?" Yun Zhe pondered to himself.

As he was thinking, Serena appeared behind him. "Mr. Yun Zhe, you've come at just the right time. We're setting off for Donic tomorrow. Would you like to come along?"

Yun Zhe blinked. "Does our agreement still stand?"

Serena nodded. "A thousand gold coins is a lot, but the Donic family will keep its promise. I just don't know if you have any good suggestions, sir."

"I dare not offer advice, but first I need a map of Donic, your fiefdom, and the fiefdoms of your family's vassals, the more complete and detailed the better."

Serena nodded, “Of course,” and then looked at Yun Zhe, clearly waiting for him to speak.

“Let me look at the map first. Also, you should talk to the head of the Paz family and tell the farmers to go back to farming. If nothing unexpected happens, we shouldn’t need them.”

Although Serena was a child, she still had the common sense that the city's peasants and laborers had to be conscripted for war.

"That might be a bit difficult. If you don't have any good suggestions, we're leaving tomorrow. We really don't have much time left."

A classic battle example popped into Yun Zhe's mind. This example wasn't new; it frequently appeared in Avery's elective course on war strategy. However, its applicability could only be determined by considering the specific circumstances.

"Let me see the map first, and then I'll give you some advice, okay?" Yun Zhe was moved by his own idea and was eager to see if it could be implemented.

The little mage Xixi behind Serena glanced at Yun Zhe with great dissatisfaction; she was very disgusted by his attitude towards Serena.

Serena, however, felt that Yun Zhe couldn't actually come up with any good ideas; looking at the map was just an excuse to cover up his true intentions. She secretly thought that if this guy couldn't say or do anything worthwhile, he could forget about getting a thousand gold coins.

Ellie gestured for Alice to take Wood back to the castle, then looked at the two men in front of her, who seemed to be on the verge of conflict, and couldn't help but facepalm.

“The map lord has it, I’ll take you there,” he said, then pointed to Serena. “Be nice to her. She calls you ‘sir,’ can’t you act like one?”

Yun Zhe was speechless, realizing that what he had just done was indeed somewhat inappropriate. So he smiled at Ellie and bowed to Serena.

Seeing Yun Zhe take the initiative to show weakness, Serena was not very happy. She slightly pursed her lips, snorted, and turned to leave.

Yun Zhe wasn't embarrassed at all; he simply shrugged at Ellie, as if to say, "See, this isn't my problem."

Ellie rolled her eyes at Yun Zhe and waved for him to follow.
