Relay in the 89th War

Yun Zhe gasped; the news was indeed too shocking.

It turns out that a group of humans were fighting each other on someone else's land.

"Can I interpret this as the elves wanting to reclaim this land?"

"Take it back?" Serena looked at Yun Zhe in confusion. "This land is already ours. How can we take it back? They are just trying to steal our land."

Yun Zhe was stunned by this bizarre logic. "Then why would the elves attack this land? As far as I know, the elves are a peace-loving people."

Serena pursed her lips, realizing the absurdity of her words. She sighed and said softly, "This place was originally no-owner land."

But Yun Zhe already knew that this unclaimed land actually had owners: exiled and rebellious elves. Could it be considered an elven prison?

Yun Zhe crossed his arms, finding the whole thing increasingly interesting.

"If I'm not mistaken, this unclaimed land is your and Lunlang's fiefdom, isn't it?"

Serena nodded. She was amazed by Yun Zhe's intelligence; he had deduced the truth of the matter from just a few words.

Yun Zhe was somewhat embarrassed by Serena's idea, "When will the elves attack?"

"That's hard to say, but seeing the elf and the white tiger means it's coming soon."

"You intend to resist?"

Serena shook her head. "What other way do I have but to resist?"

Yun Zhe rubbed his forehead and sighed deeply. He suddenly realized that it seemed unlikely he would get those thousand gold coins back.

Donic's losses were greater than anticipated; almost all the women and children trapped in the basement suffocated from the thick smoke of the fire. By the time Philby realized what was happening and opened the basement door, ninety percent of the people inside had already perished.

George's wife and children, as well as the relatives of many of his soldiers, including Philby's wife and son, all stopped breathing.

Philby knelt at the front door, sobbing uncontrollably, and refused to get up no matter who tried to persuade him.

More often, people were carried out barely alive. Although they were still breathing, no one could guarantee that they would make a safe recovery.

Yun Zhe found Usa, her face ashen. Her breathing was weak, but there was still hope. Yun Zhe followed the stretcher bearers dejectedly, looking at Usa's closed eyes. A pang of bitterness and regret welled up in his heart. He regretted not thinking of the child, not going to save her immediately, but instead going to talk to Serena about money!

Yun Zhe suddenly felt like slapping himself.

Throughout the castle, wounded soldiers, severed limbs, and blood filled the entire castle.

Already upset by Yun Zhe's actions, Serena was even more heartbroken and pained upon seeing the horrific scene on the battlefield. She wept silently, tears streaming down her face.

They won the war, but it seems they lost even more.

The survivors stood in the damp castle, some silent, others weeping. Only the Donic flag fluttered fiercely, seemingly telling the story of the war's misery.

Yun Zhe stood not far behind Serena, looking at the silent soldiers around him. The wind blew through his rain-soaked clothes; it was cold. He paced silently, feeling the desolate atmosphere that filled the air, a silent pressure making it hard for him to breathe. Yun Zhe's eyes were moist, though he himself was unaware of it.

This is war. After personally experiencing this brutal battle, Yun Zhe found it difficult to articulate the right or wrong logic of war itself, or whether it was worth it or not. Instead, he felt disgust and rejection towards war itself.

Because he had lived in a war-torn environment in his previous life, Yun Zhe's school, Averyk, taught him a great deal about war theory and practical application. Now, however, he sees this knowledge and theory as utterly detestable and superfluous.

Yun Zhe saw Philby still crying and suddenly realized that he had intended to use this fire to eliminate him. But if he actually started the fire, how could he face the weeping members of the Lunlang family? Oh, right, it seems quite a few members of the Lunlang family died, including an heir.

As if unable to bear the pressure, Yun Zhe slumped to the ground. His mind was in turmoil, and he couldn't help but doubt his own actions and thoughts. "Was what I did right? Was there really no other choice?"

Yun Zhe began to recall his actions since his rebirth. Did he really want to kill those people? Did he really want to get involved in these things? Was what he sought really what he had told himself?

Yun Zhe collapsed to the ground, somewhat dejected or angry with himself, his demeanor showing a hint of self-abandonment.

"But they are invaders. You were just helping those who needed help resist the invasion," the voice in his heart rang out again. Yun Zhe was somewhat surprised. This time, the voice seemed much kinder, quite different from the previous voice full of hostility.

Yun Zhe felt much better, but then another question popped into his head: "If the elves attack, wouldn't it be aiding and abetting evil if I helped them?"

"Wait, why does it have to start a fight?" Yun Zhe suddenly realized this. "Why does it have to start a fight? Aren't there any other options?"

Thinking of this, Yun Zhe suddenly became excited. Solving problems doesn't always have to involve violence; negotiation is a good option.

He rose and rushed towards Serena with great enthusiasm, but stopped after taking only one step. This didn't seem like the time to discuss this. Besides, why should I even bring it up?

Yun Zhe sat down dejectedly, and then heard Serena's voice.

"Soldiers, we have won! Although we paid a heavy price, we defended our homeland and our honor! Our blood will not have been shed in vain, and our sacrifices will not be forgotten! Likewise, we will not forgive the traitors and the enemy! The war is not over yet, soldiers. I know you are saddened now, but this is not the time for mourning! Let us bury the dead, sharpen our arrows, and deliver the final, fatal blow to those traitors and enemies who brought war to this land! Annihilate the traitors, annihilate the invaders!" Serena drew her longsword, pointed it diagonally to the sky, and uttered her last words with all her might.

"Eliminate the traitors, eliminate the invaders!"

Inspired by the words, the soldiers also raised their arms and shouted. Philby, in particular, had wiped away his tears, stood up straight, drew his longsword, and began to shout as well.

"Eliminate the traitors, eliminate the invaders!"

Beside him, Andrew and Arthas were in the same state. Further away, Yun Zhe saw Usa, who was sitting up straight with a blank expression, also waving her arms with bewildered eyes.

"Eliminate the traitors, eliminate the invaders!"

At this moment, the most out of place was probably Yun Zhe. He sat alone in a corner, watching the soldiers around him shouting slogans and waving their weapons with great enthusiasm.

Yun Zhe watched coldly, the wind blowing through his soaked clothes, making him feel even colder.
