Chapter 6 Basketball Court

At three in the morning, after listening to two different dream story sessions, Lu Yu got up and took a hot shower, which finally calmed her down a bit.

She turned up the volume on the stereo, lay back down on the bed, and began to feel sleepy.

What's annoying is that the noisy inner voices start early on.

The orchard is full of seasonal fruits that ripen in July, and the fruit farmers are busy every day, working early rather than late. Around five o'clock in the morning, the sounds of their hearts begin to mingle, and the music can hardly drown them out.

An hour of sleep is better than nothing.

Early morning, by the well.

Lu Yu was washing up quickly, with music playing from the cat speaker on the windowsill. She would occasionally howl along to adjust her mood for the next day.

After washing up, Lu Yu passed by the grape trellis and saw the bunch of grapes from yesterday still lying on the stone table.

The grapes, baked by the summer night's heat, looked a bit wrinkled, their skins whitish, and appeared to be covered in a layer of dust.

Lu Yu put the bunch of grapes into the trash can and wiped the stone table dry. He rinsed half a bowl of millet and put it in a pot. He then picked an eggplant from the small vegetable garden on the east side, washed it, and put it in the pot along with two raw eggs, then simmered it in water.

Taking advantage of the break, Lu Yu opened her laptop and made a weekly recovery plan and physical training schedule.

Lu Yu knew that the most pressing issues she needed to address at this stage were sleep and diet.

With the help of mind-reading ability, she can easily pick up the tactics and techniques again. As a point guard, she has long been adept at using basketball tactics.

Recovery is not something that can be done overnight.

The team is getting another batch of new players next month to prepare for the league, and I heard there's a talented small forward who hasn't even joined the team yet, but his starting position has already been reserved for him. There aren't enough physical trainers and team doctors to begin with, so you can imagine the situation this fringe player will face…

In life, no one should make things difficult for anyone else. Six months is her last chance to secure a starting position.

Lu Yu gave a wry smile, banished her thoughts, and focused on completing the planning form.

Before long, the room was filled with the aroma of porridge. The eggplant was taken out while it was still hot, mashed, mixed with a few swirls of pepper, a pinch of salt, and a few drops of sesame oil. Served with millet porridge and a hard-boiled egg, it warmed my stomach comfortably.

To eat well, you must first nourish your stomach.

Lu Yu's first day of individual training began.

Lu Yu put on her training clothes, knee pads, sports watch, and Bluetooth headset. "Grandpa and Grandma, Little Fish is going out."

The door was closed, and the portraits of an elderly couple smiling were displayed on the wall.

Lu Yu walked to the intersection to warm up. The small roads in the suburban village were flat and empty. She ran 2 kilometers along the sidewalk to get her body in shape through aerobic exercise.

Her physical condition is currently quite poor, so she doesn't dare to run at full speed and can only run the entire course at a normal pace. Even so, Lu Yu still felt exhausted in the second half of the race.

When we arrived at the outdoor basketball court, the scorching summer heat was already intense.

The basketball court was just renovated and repainted this year. On the cement open space not far to the east, there are uneven bars, sit-up benches, and torso rotation machines.

After her grandparents passed away, she contracted out her orchard to her neighbors. All she needed was the yard and the outdoor basketball court a kilometer away.

That basketball court was built with her first pot of gold.

Grandpa and Grandma were very involved in building the basketball court. Grandpa personally supervised the pouring of the cement floor and the installation of the basketball hoops. This small basketball court truly embodies the dreams of the whole family.

The first stage consists of 20 push-ups, 10 crossover dribbles, 20 squats, 20 jumping jacks, and 50 free throws.

My calf muscles are swollen, and I'm starting to feel weak in my lower back and abdomen.

The second stage consists of 20 push-ups, 50 layups with both hands, 30 high knees, 50 mid-range shots, 20 jumping jacks, and 50 three-point shots.

Lu Yu was pushing his physical limits.

The current situation is that stamina is completely gone, explosive power is nonexistent, and strength and speed are insufficient.

On the first day of training, many details were destroying enthusiasm.

Lu Yu became even clearer about her current goals: to eat well and sleep well.

A month passed in a blur, and Lu Yu's physical training intensity gradually increased, as did her appetite.

My sleep is inconsistent, sometimes good and sometimes bad, and the quality of my sleep depends on how many dreams my neighbors have in one night.

Although Lu Yu's condition has improved slightly, it's far from enough. Without solving the fundamental sleep problem, everything else is just nonsense.

When he was young, he faced less pressure and his physical condition wasn't significantly affected. He gained fame at a young age by predicting the entire game's moves with his mind-reading abilities. Now, his physical condition has deteriorated to the point where he can't even last half a game.

The situation is fraught with difficulties, and the bottlenecks remain difficult to overcome.

For the past month, Lu Yu occasionally daydreamed, hoping that Jiao Yuyin would get a cold shoulder at the airport and then come back with his tail between his legs.

Days passed, and there were neither any confident international phone calls from the other party, nor any calls of remorse after being turned down.

Lu Yu had searched for information about Jiao Yuyin online and learned that he was the third son of the wealthy Jiao family, and had been entrusted with important responsibilities at a young age. At only twenty-six years old, he had taken over the Jiao family's agricultural and forestry businesses. Because of his tall stature and handsome appearance, he was frequently featured in the media and would often appear in entertainment news.

No wonder the name Jiao Yuyin always sounded familiar, but recently there hasn't been much news about the Jiao family or Jiao Yuyin.

With Lu Yu himself being so controversial, even rats that want to dig holes are staying far away. How could such a prodigy be willing to get involved? Perhaps even the sticky notes have been thrown away.

The small flame of passion in Lu Yu's heart was about to burn out...
