Chapter 158 Feedback from Learning

The groom goes to fetch the bride at Chenshi (7-9 AM), before which the bride can only wait inside the house.

Especially since they can't eat anything.

This was extremely painful for Yan Yue.

Heyue secretly instructed Hailan to go to the kitchen and find some pastries, then sent the maids and servants away, saying she wanted to talk to Sixth Sister, and then gave Hailan the pastries that she had secretly taken.

Yan Yue was overjoyed, wolfing down her food while showering everyone with compliments: "Seventh Sister is the best!"

When the nanny returned and saw the ruined rouge on Yan Yue's lips and the crumbs of pastry around her mouth, her lips twitched. She was speechless, but she could only touch up Yan Yue's makeup again.

At the hour of Chen (7-9 AM), the groom arrived. Yan Yue put on her bridal veil and, with Yue helping her sixth sister, went to the front to bid farewell to her father and mother. Yan Yue's face under the veil was covered in tears as she kowtowed to her father and mother. Marhan personally handed Yan Yue's hand to Yiduli, who was dressed in a bright red wedding gown.

Yi Duli held Yan Yue's hand under her wedding dress and kowtowed to his parents-in-law to say goodbye.

After seeing off the bride and groom, the family felt a deep sense of loss.

He Yue was feeling down and really wanted to go to the Eighth Prince's residence to see his wife.

Upon arriving, He Yue discovered that the Eighth Prince's wife was not there. Feeling disappointed, she went instead to the neighboring Fourth Prince's residence to visit the Fourth Prince's wife.

Heyue slumped onto the table, sighing and looking dejected.

Seeing her like this, the Fourth Prince's wife asked, "Are you in a bad mood today?"

Nodding slightly, He Yue sighed. Ever since her sixth sister left home, her heart had always been heavy. She was afraid that her sixth sister would be bullied, that her aunt would be dissatisfied with her and find fault with her, and that Yi Duli would not be able to protect her.

Although Yan Yue is the older sister, in He Yue's heart, she is her younger sister. She is straightforward and doesn't have any ulterior motives, making her easy to bully.

The Fourth Princess Consort understood after a moment's thought, and found it somewhat amusing: "Reluctant to part with Yan Yue?"

He nodded in agreement.

"Everyone grows up and gets married. Yan Yue is not a child anymore. She has her own path to walk. She will protect herself. Instead of worrying about her, you should worry about yourself."

"Me? What do I have to worry about?" He Yue was puzzled by the Fourth Prince's words.

The Fourth Princess chuckled and stroked her hair: "You silly girl, you're clearly younger than Yan Yue, yet you worry about everything for her, like an old woman. Have you ever thought about your own future?"

Heyue exclaimed in surprise, then scratched her head sheepishly, "I... I'm still young."

She genuinely hadn't considered it, partly because she knew her future fate, and partly because she wasn't particularly concerned about the matter, showing a rather easygoing attitude.

“You’re not young anymore. A girl is already an adult at twelve. Although it’s said that you can’t discuss marriage before the selection of imperial concubines, if you don’t want to enter the palace, you should make plans as soon as possible.”

The Fourth Prince's wife looked at the girl in front of her. In the blink of an eye, she had grown into a graceful young lady. Although her eyebrows and eyes were still immature, she looked even more youthful and charming.

"Last time you accidentally barged into the master's study, didn't you have any thoughts about that?" Fourth Princess Consort suddenly asked, her smile carrying a deeper meaning.

He Yue's heart skipped a beat, and she felt a little uneasy, but on the surface she pretended to be confused and explained awkwardly, "What do you mean? Well, I just happened to bump into it by accident, and Fourth Master didn't blame me, did he?"

"You little girl, would I blame you?" Fourth Princess Consort chuckled, tapped her pretty nose, her eyes full of affection, and sighed, "You and the master have always been close, so even if you bumped into each other, it's nothing. At your age, it's alright for you to know some things."

He Yue was completely bewildered. What did this mean? What did it mean that it was okay to know?!

Seeing her bewildered expression, the Fourth Prince's wife smiled even more: "No wonder the Prince likes it; I like it too."

Just as Heyue was puzzled, the Fourth Princess changed the subject again: "Do you still remember that maid?"

He Yue nodded in agreement. Of course, it was the first time she had encountered such a scene, and it left a deep impression on her.

The Fourth Prince's wife slowly said, "She was a maidservant by Consort Li's side, and Consort Li had always favored her. That day, she tried to seduce the master while Consort Li was ill, but you happened to catch her. The master had the maidservant beaten that day and also reprimanded Consort Li for it. The master is not a man who is fond of women. He may appear stern, but he is very tender towards women as long as they do not break the rules. You can see this from Consort Li."

He Yue was speechless. Why was she telling her all this? She had absolutely no interest in the Fourth Prince's romantic history.

Moreover, Heyue couldn't see how much the Fourth Prince liked Princess Li. As far as Heyue knew, the future woman, Lady Nian, was the one the Fourth Prince truly cared about.

But what exactly did the Fourth Princess Consort mean by saying that? Why did she have a creepy feeling about it?

Seeing that she didn't seem to understand, the Fourth Princess Consort didn't say anything more and changed the subject.

However, Heyue always felt uneasy, as she felt that the Fourth Prince's wife was implying something.

She never imagined that the Fourth Prince's wife meant for her to become his concubine. After all, what woman would willingly find another woman for her husband? Not to mention that she was the legitimate daughter of a high-ranking official, and she couldn't possibly become a concubine. The Fourth Prince's wife wasn't that stupid.

Since she couldn't figure it out, Heyue quickly put it out of her mind.

Today, the Fourth Prince's wife kept Heyue behind, saying that she was about to grow up and wanted to teach her some household management skills so that she wouldn't be bullied when she married into her husband's family.

Heyue felt that the Fourth Prince's wife was really kind-hearted, having even thought of this in advance, and felt quite ashamed.

She really didn't want to learn, because it was too far away for her, and she didn't want to get married so early, but the Fourth Prince's wife clearly had a different idea.

In her words, "I married you when I was ten, and you're twelve now, it's time for you to learn from me."

Heyue was shocked. She never expected that the Fourth Prince's wife would marry the Fourth Prince at such a young age. It was simply cruel to a minor.
