Chapter 176 Night Visit

With the wedding date drawing ever closer, the Empress Dowager sent several matrons to teach Heyue the proper etiquette for the royal family.

They were also worried that Heyue was too old to handle the small town and wouldn't be able to fulfill her role as the primary consort.

The palace maids are different from the maids in the mansions. They are truly strict and give no leeway. No matter what your status is, you must obey. If you don't learn well, they will not show you any mercy.

While Heyue appeared outwardly obedient but inwardly cursed, the wedding day quietly arrived.

The wedding dress was sent from the palace well in advance.

The household was bustling with activity every day due to the wedding preparations, and all the servants had smiling faces and were full of energy.

Fortunately, the mother reprimanded everyone, and order was restored, preventing any embarrassing incidents.

Only Heyue remained calm, as if nothing had happened. Heyue ate and slept all day long, which eventually wore down Hailan's temper.

After bathing, she changed into her wedding dress and sat in front of the mirror. Two palace maids pinched her face, and then applied makeup.

In the blink of an eye, a bright red monkey-bottom face appeared in the mirror.

To be honest, He Yue really felt a toothache looking at it; she simply couldn't stand such ancient makeup techniques.

The person in front of me still looks like a little kid, but she's already getting married.

Thinking about Heyue makes me sigh with frustration.

I never imagined she would get married so early in her life.

Wang, the old woman who was combing her hair behind her, looked at the petite figure in the mirror and sighed.

"The princess's wife originally said she wanted to keep the princess for a few more years, but she didn't expect that she would have to get married so soon."
