The misunderstanding was cleared up, and the group got along like old friends.
He Yue sighed, "A woman as gentle and magnanimous as water is meant to be cherished. No wonder Xiao Guoluo is favored."
I believe that such a woman will one day win the heart of the Tenth Prince.
The Eighth Prince's wife told Lady Guo Luoluo to go back first, and then spoke with Heyue alone.
Little Guo Luoluo showed no dissatisfaction and left on her own.
This was the first time Heyue had seen the Eighth Prince's wife since their marriage, and she couldn't hide her joy. With Xiao Guoluo in the room, she couldn't be too obvious. After Xiao Guoluo left, she quickly moved closer and took the Eighth Prince's wife's arm, resting her head on her shoulder: "Sister, I missed you."
The Eighth Prince's wife held her hand and smiled, "Seeing you like this, I know that the Thirteenth Prince treats you well. Now that I think about it, it would have been much better for you to marry the Thirteenth Prince than the Tenth Prince. A primary wife is always better than a secondary wife, and you won't have to follow the rules and suffer grievances under someone else's control."
Heyue had heard from her sister that the Tenth Prince had a Mongolian fiancée, whom Emperor Kangxi had arranged between the Qing Dynasty and Mongolia. She was the daughter of Prince Urjingalap, of the Abaga Borjigit clan.
Therefore, even though Heyue married the Tenth Prince, she was only a concubine.
At the time, Heyue didn't care much about this; she just wanted to fulfill her sister's wish, and besides, she didn't think she would be bullied by a woman.
"I know my sister always thinks of me first. No matter what, she is the most important person to me."
"I only hope that no matter what I do, you won't blame me." These words lingered in her throat for a while before she finally uttered them.
He Yue's smile froze for a moment, then she smiled again and asked curiously, "What is it? You're making it sound so mysterious."
"It's nothing." The Eighth Prince's wife stroked her hair, her voice soft: "I can tell that the Thirteenth Uncle really cares about you. Try your best to protect yourself. Don't listen to or concern yourself with certain things. I just hope you can be alright."
After a moment's pause, He Yue nodded gently: "Okay."
In the evening, Heyue leaned against the chaise lounge, holding a book in her hand, gazing out the window as the autumn wind began to blow, her mind in turmoil.
They didn't even notice someone coming in.
Heyue was startled awake when the person put their arm around her waist. Seeing the Thirteenth Prince's cheek pressed against hers, she smiled broadly and asked, "What are you thinking about?"
He Yue looked up at his undisguised smile, momentarily dazed, not even noticing how close he was to her, almost intimately.
I don't understand why he always smiles so happily. I remember when I first met him, he had a faint melancholy and sometimes seemed like a fragile young man. It seems that in recent years he has gained a lot of confidence and charisma that he never had before.
Looking at herself, her former carefree and thoughtless nature is getting further and further away from her.
She had thought that finding her sister and now marrying Thirteen would make it easy to change things in the future, but she felt inexplicably uneasy.
It's as if the beauty before my eyes is just an illusion, and will disappear in the blink of an eye.
Seeing her dazed expression, the Thirteenth Prince's smile faded. He gripped her shoulders tightly, frowned, and asked worriedly, "What's wrong? What happened?"
Seeing his anxious and worried expression, He Yue snapped out of her daze and smiled faintly: "It's nothing. When did you get back?"
The Thirteenth Prince stared at her with some suspicion, his tension showing no sign of fading, and even her rare gentleness failed to make him happy.
"Did someone bully you?" The Thirteenth Prince thought for a moment. She had seen several concubines today. Could it be that she was unhappy because of that?
Thinking of this, I felt a pang of regret. If I had known this would happen, I shouldn't have agreed to let her meet those people.
He Yue chuckled, feeling warmed by his nervousness, and reached out to wrap her arms around his waist.
This action startled the Thirteenth Prince, who then looked at her incredulously, a hint of surprise gradually appearing on his face.
Seeing him like this, Heyue wondered if she had treated him too badly before. All she had to do was hug him, and he was so happy.
She pursed her lips and hugged him even tighter. She didn't know why, but she really wanted to lean on him right now.
"It's really nothing, I'm just feeling a little unwell," He Yue explained with a smile.
The thirteenth prince immediately became even more anxious: "Where do you feel unwell? I'll have someone call a doctor."
Seeing that he was about to get up, Heyue quickly grabbed him, frowned, and glared at him fiercely: "Stay put!"
The thirteenth prince immediately turned into a little lamb, obediently snuggling up to her and blinking his eyes.
Heyue swallowed hard, inwardly annoyed. Why did she have to act so cute?! It's so annoying!
By now, Heyue had regained her composure and reverted to her previous domineering and unreasonable self, pushing him forcefully: "Don't lean on me! Get up!"
The Thirteenth Prince sat down to the side, frowning as he looked at her, feeling wronged. This change of heart was too fast!
Just as Heyue was about to get up, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen, as if something was leaking out.
Realizing something, his expression immediately changed.
Looking at Thirteen again, he was still sitting there with a wronged and accusing expression. Heyue glared at him irritably: "Get out! Call my maid in!"
Seeing that although she was still fierce, her face had turned pale, the Thirteenth Prince felt a pang of anxiety and hurriedly went out to call Hailan and Chunya in as instructed.
He Yue gritted her teeth inwardly. No wonder she'd been feeling irritable lately; it turned out it was her period.
This was her first period since she came here, and it was incredibly uncomfortable.
After a moment of panic, Hailan and Chun Ya hurriedly prepared the necessary items, helped Heyue to the bathroom to change her underwear, and then came out.
The Thirteenth Prince paced nervously around the room. When he saw Heyue come out, her face still pale, he quickly went over and helped her lie down on the bed: "How are you? How do you feel?"
She waved her hand and comforted him, "It's okay, it'll be fine in a bit, sit down."
The thirteenth prince sat down as instructed, looking at her nervously.
He Yue found his expression inexplicably amusing and burst out laughing.
The thirteenth prince's tense expression turned into utter confusion and bewilderment.
Heyue held his hand and said, "Don't worry, it's really nothing." Afraid that he would continue to worry, she leaned closer and whispered an explanation.
Upon hearing this, the Thirteenth Prince's face flushed red, his eyes darted around, and he dared not look at her.
He Yue found him increasingly adorable.
After much difficulty, I managed to get him to go eat first, while I rested for a while and ate in the house.
After drinking some brown sugar water, Heyue had just lain down to rest for a while when Granny Wang came in. She sent Hailan and Chunya away, sat down beside her, and hesitated to speak.
He Yue found her behavior rather strange: "Granny, please speak freely."
Looking at her, Wang Mama seemed to have made up her mind. She took a deep breath and said, "Princess, please don't blame this old servant for being nosy. I've followed you here, and everything I do is for your sake. I'm afraid you'll be bullied. Now that I see how well the Thirteenth Prince treats you, I'm gratified, but I'm still a little worried. No matter how much the Thirteenth Prince loves you, he's still a man, and some things are unavoidable. Now that you've had your period, it's inconvenient for the Thirteenth Prince to stay. I was thinking, should you arrange for another woman to serve the Thirteenth Prince?"
