Chapter 197 Able to Take It and Let It Go

He Yue let him pull her into his arms without any worry.

I felt more joyful than ever before.

I never imagined that I could win the heart of such a pure young man.

It felt like stealing something important without being discovered.

Although I used to scoff at such things, I can't hide my joy and sweetness at this moment.

Humans are truly contradictory creatures.

The man, furious, looked at the cunning woman in front of him and wished he could devour her immediately. However, considering her current physical condition, he was powerless to do anything about it, no matter how frustrated he was.

"It's settled then, I'm not feeling well today, so you're not welcome. Wherever you want to go is your business, except here." Heyue held up an index finger and waved it in front of him, her eyes narrowed in a smug smile.

"No way." Thirteen refused without hesitation, his attitude firm, and then snorted, "Anyway, I'm not going to touch you, so what are you worried about?"

"That won't do. I'm afraid you won't be able to control yourself in the middle of the night. I don't want a wolf lying next to me all the time." Despite this, He Yue remained unyielding, her words utterly blunt.

Although she had resolved her inner conflict and was no longer repulsed by him, and easily accepted the sudden changes in their relationship, she still couldn't back down from the things she should insist on.

We can't indulge his temper, otherwise it won't be easy to get rid of him in the future.

Comparing him to a wolf?! Thirteen really wanted to bite her neck off.

That's so annoying!

However, seeing her pale face, he ultimately couldn't bear to refuse.

That night, Thirteen went to the study and did not go to the other women's rooms. Granny Wang was very pleased with this, and because of Heyue's words, she stopped talking about concubines and such.

Secretly, Granny Wang also warned the maids in the room to behave themselves and not to take the opportunity to seduce their master, or they would be in big trouble.

He Yue, of course, was unaware of this.

The next morning, Thirteen came to the main courtyard to visit Heyue. He saw that her complexion was better, but she was still not feeling well. Her usual fierceness was completely gone, and he frowned with heartache.

"If you feel unwell, I'll have someone fetch a doctor to take a look at you."

"Why would I need to call a doctor?" He Yue rolled her eyes at him, annoyed. What was the point of calling a doctor for this? Did he have no shame?

Thirteen was bewildered by her irritating glare, so he had no choice but to go along with her: "Then you should rest well today. Just tell the people below if you need anything."

He Yue nodded listlessly.

Thirteen had breakfast with her, and before leaving, he remembered something: "In a few days, I will be going on a southern tour with Father Emperor. You must take good care of yourself in the mansion."

He said this with a mix of guilt and reluctance. He had finally married his wife, and they hadn't even had enough time to get to know each other before they had to separate. The thought of her being alone in the mansion, and the two of them not seeing each other for months, made him wish he could take her with him.

He Yue let out an "Ah," looking somewhat bewildered.

She hadn't really made any preparations for this, and was quite surprised when she first heard about it, not expecting a sudden southern tour. But she quickly regained her composure and calmly nodded, "Okay."

Without any reluctance or words of advice, the Thirteenth Prince hurriedly grabbed her hand.

He Yue frowned and looked over, only to meet his resentful eyes. Her heart skipped a beat, and she felt a little strange.

"Don't you have anything to say to me?" His tone was somewhat serious, and his eyes held a hint of reproach, as if he were a neglected young wife.

He Yue didn't understand at first and looked at him blankly. When she finally understood, she couldn't help but chuckle.

The thirteenth prince's face darkened at her laughter, and he glared at her through gritted teeth.

Heyue didn't really feel any reluctance or entanglement about separating so soon after getting married. She wasn't a sentimental young woman, so she really couldn't understand his feelings.

Whether in modern or ancient times, men are generally considered careless in this regard, and some even hope that women can stay at home and behave themselves. If a woman nags even a little bit, a man will find it annoying. He Yue never expected that he would be so concerned about these things.

This just goes to show that I am indeed different to him, and I feel somewhat comforted.

"You can go without worry. There's no need to worry about the manor. Besides, no one can bully me. Just be careful. Is there anything I need to prepare?"

She couldn't bring herself to act all reluctant; it even gave her goosebumps. So, she simply followed her own nature, offering a few words of comfort, patting his hand, and then wondering if she should prepare anything.

Hearing her say that, Thirteen was clearly dissatisfied, his face darkening, but he wasn't angry. He sighed helplessly, thinking that he was completely under her thumb.

Knowing she had no experience, Thirteen only said to prepare some clothes and food for the journey, nothing else, and said there was no rush, let her recover first.

Heyue thought to herself that she should make good preparations. After all, she was in a position to fulfill her duties and could not wrong her husband. So she nodded.

After Thirteen left, Heyue asked Granny Wang in detail what needed to be prepared.

Heyue had only been married for a short time and had no experience with these things. Only after listening to Wang Mama did she realize that there were many things to prepare for the southern tour. Everything from clothing, food, lodging, and servants along the way had to be prepared, and Heyue needed to give all these instructions.

Next, Heyue handed the matter over to Granny Wang and Hailan, and all she had to do was listen to their reports on what had been prepared.

In addition to having the kitchen prepare dry food in advance, we also prepared some clothes for the journey south, as well as servants. Thirteen has a personal servant named Li Shun'er, whom he will definitely take with him, so there is no need to worry about not having anyone to serve him along the way.

Then there are the women who will accompany the entourage. Whether or not to bring concubines, and which concubine to bring, must also be decided.
