Chapter 20 The Disliked Thirteen

Guan Zhu blushed and lowered his head somewhat awkwardly.

He Yue chuckled and withdrew her hand, easing Guan Zhu's embarrassment. She raised her clear eyes and gently instructed, "Seventh Sister, you must rest well and not move around. Mother said that children should listen to adults. Riding horses is a boy's job. Seventh Sister should stay at home obediently."

He Yue's smile froze. She coughed lightly, her expression softening further as she asked with a smile, "Guanzhu, did Mother tell you to tell me this?"

Guan Zhu nodded vigorously: "Yes, Mother said that Seventh Sister was disobedient and that's why she hurt her foot. She also said that Seventh Sister has become too independent and is always making Mother angry. Seventh Sister, is Mother really angry with Seventh Sister?"

He Yue met his innocent gaze, speechless, wondering how to answer.

Sigh, Mother would rather have Guanzhu relay a message to scold her than discipline her herself. It seems Mother is really angry.

He Yue felt increasingly depressed.

"Seventh Sister, don't worry, I will plead for you, Mother will definitely forgive you." Seeing her silence, Guan Zhu patted his chest like a little man.

He Yue chuckled, her gloomy mood improving somewhat. She took the rose cake from Yu Ying and picked up a piece to give to Guan Zhu: "Guan Zhu is such a good boy. Your sister has been good to you."

Guan Zhu took the rose cake and grinned, "Thank you, Seventh Sister." Then he happily ate it, his chubby cheeks puffed up, making him look incredibly cute.

After Guan Zhu left, He Yue felt irritable and had no interest in reading, so she asked Yu Ying to read to her.

Just as she was dozing off, Hailan came in and whispered, "Princess, the Thirteenth Prince has arrived."

He Yue woke up abruptly, dumbfounded. What was he doing here? Did he still feel unconvinced and want to humiliate her even though she was injured?

Thinking of this, a surge of anger welled up inside her, and she angrily uttered, "I won't see you!"

Hailan hesitated, which only made Heyue angrier. She snapped at her, "What? Even you are bullying me?"

Hailan quickly waved her hand, lowered her head, and whispered, "No, it's...it's Sixth Princess who's outside too."

He Yue was stunned for a moment, thinking she had misheard. When she understood what she meant, she was overjoyed and quickly told her, "Quickly let Sixth Sister in." After saying that, she asked Yu Ying to tidy her clothes and hair. After thinking for a moment, she lay down again, pretending to be weak and listless, with one hand supporting her forehead.

Seeing her like this, Hailan opened her mouth as if to say something, but ultimately said nothing and turned to leave.

A moment later, Yan Yue walked in with a sullen face, plopped down on the carved nanmu chair in the middle of the room, poured herself a cup of tea, gulped it down, and then slammed it down on the table. Her chest heaved violently, and she seemed quite angry.

Heyue waited for a while but Sixth Sister didn't come forward. She was secretly puzzled. When she heard the teacup fall heavily on the table, her heart trembled slightly. She quietly opened her eyes and saw Sixth Sister looking angry. She blinked and was completely confused.

What happened? Wasn't Sixth Sister here to see me? Why is she so angry? Could it be that Sixth Sister is still mad at me?

He Yue felt a little guilty and bit her lip. Just as she was about to break the silence, Sixth Sister suddenly said to the door, "Men and women should not touch each other. Thirteenth Master, you can say what you have to say here."

He Yue was completely baffled and looked at Hai Lan with a questioning gaze. Hai Lan whispered back, "The Thirteenth Master has also arrived."

Heyue's face darkened instantly. Hailan lowered her eyes guiltily, wanting to say that she didn't mean it. After all, he was a prince, how could she really kick him out?

He Yue understood and couldn't blame her anymore. However, judging from Sixth Sister's tone, she seemed to be very unwelcoming to the Thirteenth Prince. Her attitude was completely different from a few days ago. Didn't she have a good impression of the Thirteenth Prince?

Still wondering, the Thirteenth Prince at the door spoke up: "I... I came to see her and apologize to her. I was wrong yesterday. I didn't expect it to turn out like this. Also, this is a wound medicine from the Imperial Hospital. It's very effective for foot injuries. I'm giving it to your sister."

Yan Yue's expression softened slightly: "Thank you, Thirteenth Master. Hai Lan, please put away the wound medicine."

Hailan stepped forward to take the wound medicine, but the Thirteenth Prince still didn't leave. After a moment of silence, he spoke again: "Can I see her?"

Since they were there to deliver medicine, Yan Yue couldn't refuse. She glanced at He Yue in the inner room, her face very unpleasant, and angrily said, "Thirteenth Master, please do as you please." She stood up and walked out.

The Thirteenth Prince breathed a sigh of relief and stepped into the room. He went to the west side room where Heyue lived. Hailan had already lowered the curtain. Now she brought out a brocade stool. The Thirteenth Prince sat down. He couldn't see the people inside through the curtain, so he wasn't so nervous anymore.

"Are you alright? Does your foot still hurt?" The Thirteenth Prince's tone was filled with genuine concern, not feigned.

"It's alright, Thirteenth Master, please speak quickly." He Yue's tone was harsh and slightly impatient, but inside the tent, she was tightly hugging the quilt, pursing her lips, and idly scratching the corner of the quilt with her fingers.

The Thirteenth Prince seemed to have anticipated her current attitude, so he wasn't surprised or angry. His tone was full of remorse: "I was wrong yesterday. I apologize to you. Fourth Brother also scolded me. Please don't be angry anymore, okay?"

He Yue rolled her eyes, secretly wondering why the Thirteenth Prince's attitude had changed so quickly. Yesterday he was so arrogant, but today he came to apologize in person. Could it be that he had changed his approach and was planning to play some new trick?

"I have nothing to be angry about. I offended the Thirteenth Master and deserve this punishment. Now I'm even with the Thirteenth Master. He doesn't owe me anything. As long as he doesn't cause me any more trouble and stays away from me, I'll be extremely grateful." He Yue didn't care what he was planning, since she didn't have any good feelings towards him anyway. She lazily retorted and bit the corner of the blanket in frustration.

These words were extremely impolite. The Thirteenth Prince's face flushed red, as if it was the first time he had been rejected like this. He was also a little annoyed, but he forced himself to swallow his anger and pursed his lips: "I admit that I provoked you first yesterday, but I didn't expect you to do such a dangerous thing. In short, it was my fault. The first time I met you, I flirted with your sister, but it was a misunderstanding at the time. I didn't mean it."

"Hmph, a pervert will never admit he's a pervert," He Yue sneered without any politeness.

The thirteenth prince's face darkened, and he clenched his fists: "How could you do this..."

He stopped abruptly before he could utter the words "insolent speech," his face darkening, and he bit his lip, remaining silent.

He Yue pressed on relentlessly, speaking sarcastically: "What does the Thirteenth Prince want to say? Did I say something wrong? Is there some hidden reason for flirting with someone? The Thirteenth Prince is really joking. If the Thirteenth Prince has nothing else to say, please leave. I don't want to see you again."

Upon hearing this order to leave, the Thirteenth Prince could no longer bear it. He stood up abruptly, his face turning pale and then red, and said, "Think what you want, that's all I have to say!" before striding away.

Hailan and Yuying were terrified and dared not breathe. The princess was becoming increasingly bold, daring to speak to the thirteenth prince like that.

As Heyue listened to the footsteps fading away, she slightly pursed her lips. She didn't want to have anything to do with him anymore. As long as she could get rid of the identity of the Thirteenth Prince's wife, she would rather offend him severely. Thinking of this, she bit the corner of the quilt hard.
