Chapter 209 I Was Wrong

Heyue dodged to the side, clutching her stomach and laughing so hard she almost choked: "How am I being inappropriate? I was just saying something we both knew, why are you so easily embarrassed?!"

It's quite amusing to see Yuxiu, who is usually so serious, looking so embarrassed and annoyed.

"If you say that again, I'm ignoring you!"

Seeing that her eyes were red with anxiety, Heyue stopped teasing her and finally stopped laughing. She comforted her, "Don't be shy, I'm just curious. I really want to know." As she spoke, she looked at her expectantly, just like a little dog begging for food.

Yuxiu chuckled: "You don't look like a married woman at all now. You're still a child who hasn't grown up."

He Yue ignored her mockery and pouted in boredom: "I don't want to put on airs, it's too tiring!"

"You could at least have told me, maybe I could have created more opportunities for you to bump into each other," He Yue urged again, tugging at her sleeve.

Yu Xiu hesitated for a moment, initially not wanting to speak, but ultimately couldn't resist He Yue's temptation and nodded with a blush.

Heyue stared at her with shrewd eyes.

Seeing her like this, Yuxiu chuckled and slowly said, "I haven't met him many times, only glimpsed him from afar at a palace banquet. To be honest, the first time I saw him, I really felt he was different from the other princes. He was kind and approachable, unpretentious, and witty. It was very comfortable to be with him. It's rare for a prince to have such a calm and easygoing nature, and I admired him. At first, I truly admired him, but later I started looking forward to meeting him. However, this was just wishful thinking on my part; he might not necessarily be interested in me." As she finished speaking, Yuxiu lowered her head somewhat dejectedly.

Heyue listened with great interest and couldn't bear to see her so downcast, so she quickly comforted her: "Oh dear, don't belittle yourself. A young lady from a respectable family like you must be liked by many people. I think the Twelfth Prince is gentle and refined, and his speech isn't as formal as others. I suppose he also likes quiet girls. Don't worry, since you like him, I will definitely do my best to help you. Anyway, I'm his sister-in-law now, so it's quite easy for me to see him and say a few words to him. Asking around for you won't be a problem."

Heyue acted as if she had my back.

Yuxiu was amused, but also a little uncomfortable: "Is this alright? Isn't this too undignified?"

"Don't worry, I don't think he's the kind of person who's bound by worldly conventions. At worst, I won't tell him it's you, and I'll just probe his thoughts on this. Or I can find a way to let you two meet and talk to him yourself."

Yuxiu was somewhat tempted, and finally nodded with a blush, "Then I'll leave it to you."

“We’re like family, there’s no need for formalities. I also hope to call you sister-in-law in the future. Speaking of which, the Twelfth Prince’s primary wife is still nowhere to be found, while the Thirteenth Prince has already married. Thinking about it, the Twelfth Prince is quite pitiful. Helping him find a virtuous wife as soon as possible is my way of showing my love as his sister-in-law.”

At this point, He Yue couldn't help but complain that Thirteen had really gotten a huge advantage.

Although his two older brothers, the Tenth Prince and the Twelfth Prince, had concubines, neither of them had married a primary wife yet. The Tenth Prince had already betrothed a primary wife and was just waiting to enter the household, while the Twelfth Prince hadn't even shown a trace of one yet.

The younger brother, however, surpassed his two older brothers.

This also shows that Thirteen was still quite favored at this time.

"Seeing you like this, I'm happy for you as your friend, but thinking about how lost and dejected my second brother is now, it's a bit of a pity. I wish you were my sister-in-law." Yu Xiu felt a little embarrassed at the beginning, and after He Yue finished speaking, she sighed again.

"Fu Qing? What happened to him?" He Yue was surprised. She hadn't seen this kid in a long time. They used to be quite good friends. Hearing that he wasn't doing well, He Yue was still a little worried.

Yuxiu quickly smiled and said, "It's nothing, just my second brother's unspeakable thoughts. He'll be fine in a few days."

Hearing her say this, He Yue understood. She knew some of Fu Qing's thoughts, but from the beginning, He Yue had never liked him and only regarded him as a younger brother.

Given the current situation, more concern would only create more entanglements, so it was better not to say anything. Thus, Heyue quickly forgot about the matter.

When I returned home at 13 p.m., I saw Heyue sitting at the table fiddling with a Go board as soon as I entered the main room.

Thirteen sat down without hesitation. Seeing that she was happily playing by herself and didn't even look up at him, he smiled and suggested, "It's so boring playing alone. How about I keep you company?"

He Yue glanced at him listlessly, but strangely, she didn't refuse and readily agreed, "Okay."

Thirteen was somewhat surprised, but seeing that she didn't seem angry, she just looked listless, probably because she was extremely bored.

He was thinking about how to please her, and he was naturally overjoyed.

He secretly thought that if he pleased her, he could do whatever he wanted that night.

If He Yue knew what he was thinking, she would definitely break his third leg for always having such wicked thoughts!

Heyue instructed the maid to serve tea to Thirteen, but she herself did not drink any.

After the chessboard was rearranged, Heyue made the first move. Thirteen picked up the teacup in front of him and, seemingly very thirsty, gulped it down in one go.

"Pfft!" In the next instant, Thirteen's expression changed drastically. He spat out the tea he was drinking onto the ground, his face turning pale and then blue. He repeatedly asked for water.

However, not a single maidservant came in. Thirteen sensed something was wrong and quickly looked at Heyue.

He smiled and looked at him: "It was I who wouldn't let them in."

Thirteen finally realized what was happening and his face fell instantly: "Madam, I was wrong, please forgive me."
