Chapter 215 Testing

He Yue chuckled inwardly, thinking to herself that this was a mistake. Her sister had previously acted as a matchmaker for the Twelfth Prince, and although it hadn't been successful, it had been an experience. She believed that the Twelfth Prince would accept this time with ease.

Thinking of this, Heyue felt a strange sense of sympathy for the Twelfth Prince. Being arranged marriages for him time and time again, it really wasn't easy for him to be a prince!

Fortunately, he has a strong mentality and doesn't feel shy or angry.

Moreover, Yuxiu, as a wife, is quite good; he actually benefited from it.

"Although there's a high chance you'll be given to a prince during the selection process, my actions are somewhat redundant. However, it's good to cultivate a relationship beforehand, so things will be easier for you once you enter the palace."

Heyue always regarded Yuxiu as a close friend and naturally hoped that she could be happy.

Yuxiu grasped Heyue's hand, her eyes glistening with tears, and smiled, "I won't say anything more, thank you anyway."

When Thirteen returned from the palace that evening, he brought Twelfth Prince with him.

Heyue had already arranged for dinner to be prepared in the flower hall and personally greeted him at the moon gate.

"Greetings, Uncle Twelfth." He Yue greeted him with a smile.

"Sister-in-law, it's been a long time." The Twelfth Prince's smile was tinged with amusement.

Heyue ignored his teasing, pretending not to know, and gave Thirteen a wink.

Upon receiving Heyue's message, Thirteen smiled and reminded Twelfth Prince, "It's rare for Twelfth Prince to visit the mansion. Heyue has prepared a lot of fine wine and food. Twelfth Prince, please do me the honor of coming."

"Oh? Since it is my thirteenth brother and sister-in-law who are so kind to invite me, I would be impolite to refuse." He glanced at Heyue with a meaningful look.

He Yue's smile froze, as if he had seen through something.

Then she comforted herself, thinking, "I didn't intend to expose it anyway, so what's there to be afraid of?"

To be honest, Heyue and the Twelfth Prince didn't spend much time together, but because of the time he saved her, Heyue was grateful to him, and since he was a kind and easy-going person, the two naturally became closer.

In reality, although the Twelfth Prince was easygoing, he did not easily open up to others. Perhaps because he grew up with Su Ma La Gu and was a devout Buddhist, he did not often interact with his other brothers in the palace, making him seem somewhat aloof.

He Yue preferred to believe that the person she was with was the real him, and didn't care about the rumors circulating outside.

The fact that the Twelfth Prince was able to come this time confirmed Heyue's guess, and her attitude became even more cordial.

Because of the fact that the Twelfth Prince was a devout Buddhist, a lot of vegetarian dishes were prepared, and the kitchen was instructed to make them based on the dishes that the Thirteenth Prince had mentioned as the Twelfth Prince's favorite dishes.

The Twelfth Prince was quite surprised by this, but quickly regained his composure.

The three chatted happily and drank a few cups of wine, except for Heyue, who drank tea. At one point, a servant came to inform Thirteen that Thirteen had left the table.

Only Heyue and the Twelfth Prince remained, along with Hailan and Chunya behind them. Chunya poured wine for the Twelfth Prince, while Hailan poured tea for Heyue.

While casually asking the other party what books he had read and what his insights were, the Twelfth Prince spoke eloquently, covering a wide range of topics including poetry, songs, and classics.

That's true. No matter how unfavored a prince is, he learns the same things.

Although I haven't seen many of He Yue's videos, it doesn't stop me from being a good listener and asking questions about things I don't understand.

As she listened to him speak, Heyue pondered how to probe his intentions. Just as she was racking her brains, the Twelfth Prince raised his wine cup and smiled slightly: "I didn't expect my Thirteenth Sister-in-law to be so easygoing. I'll drink to that first."

Heyue smiled and raised her teacup to clink with his. Just as she was about to drink, the Twelfth Prince reached out to stop her.

He Yue looked over in confusion.

The Twelfth Prince glanced at the teacup in her hand with a smile, looking puzzled: "Why doesn't Thirteenth Sister-in-law drink alcohol?"

"I..." He Yue was stunned. She was always drunk after just a sip of alcohol, so how could she dare to drink?

However, the Twelfth Prince was unaware that when Heyue tried to tell the truth, he had already snatched the teacup from her hand without saying a word, replaced it with a freshly filled wine cup, and placed it in front of Heyue, acting quite domineeringly.

"To show your sincerity, sister-in-law, it would be better if you drank some wine." He raised an eyebrow and looked at her with a half-smile.

Heyue's face stiffened. She stared blankly at the Twelfth Prince, then glanced at the wine in front of her and swallowed hard.

If she's been drinking, what questions could she possibly ask? I'd be lucky if she didn't expose all my secrets.

However, the other party's next words forced Heyue to drink: "Could it be that your sister-in-law looks down on me?"

Seeing his dejected and heartbroken expression, He Yue picked up her wine glass without hesitation and smiled awkwardly, "How could that be? I'll drink this with Uncle Twelf."

Thinking that he still had his two maids with him, he was sure that nothing would go wrong with him, so he secretly winked at Hailan, signaling her to keep an eye on him.

Then, with a pained expression and gritting his teeth, he tilted his head back and drank the wine in his glass. Immediately, a spicy taste rushed into his nasal cavity, irritating and choking him. Then, a warm feeling flowed into his throat, and he felt a little dizzy.

The feeling was familiar, and Heyue immediately realized that she was no longer fully conscious. She held her forehead with one hand, trying to stay awake, and wanted to casually ask the Twelfth Prince what kind of woman he liked.

Before he could speak, the swaying figure in front of him spoke up, his voice filled with concern: "Is your sister-in-law feeling unwell?"

He Yue nodded honestly, wanting to say that she was indeed feeling unwell, but then suddenly remembered that she hadn't asked the question she wanted to ask yet. She immediately became anxious and, in her excitement, stood up abruptly, walked to his side, and tried to see his face clearly.

Shaking her head, He Yue rubbed her temples, thought hard for a moment, then seemed to suddenly remember something and asked mysteriously, "Oh, right, what kind of woman does Uncle Twelfth like?"
