She had always disliked Wanyan Mingshuang, and if it weren't for the fact that the Fourteenth Prince and the Thirteenth Prince were brothers, she wouldn't have bothered with her at all.
Moreover, now that she knows the Fourteenth Prince's plans, Heyue can no longer remain uninvolved.
Although the Thirteenth Prince and the Fourteenth Prince are brothers, they are not born of the same mother. Even the Fourth Prince, their own elder brother, is not close to the Fourteenth Prince. It is even more impossible for He Yue to believe that the Fourteenth Prince would treat the Thirteenth Prince sincerely.
I just don't know if this was also my sister's idea.
Heyue secretly didn't want her sister to get involved, otherwise she really wouldn't know what to do.
On the way back, Heyue leaned against the carriage wall and dozed off. In her sleep, she suddenly felt a burning sensation on the palm of her right hand, which made her heart jump and she opened her eyes abruptly.
He raised his right hand and stared in shock at the sudden appearance of another red lifeline.
This storyline hasn't appeared in a long time, and Yue had almost forgotten about it. So what does it mean that it suddenly appears now?
Could it be that something happened to Thirteen?
As soon as the thought arose, He Yue's heart was filled with unease, but she quickly dismissed it.
Historically, the thirteenth prince was perfectly fine at this time, so how could something have happened? Perhaps he was just slightly injured and there was no danger to his life.
Despite trying to comfort herself, she was still somewhat unsettled and could only secretly console herself that she was overthinking things.
At this moment, the carriage suddenly stopped.
He Yue calmed herself down, and Hai Lan, who was beside her, frowned and asked, "What is it?"
The coachman cautiously reported from outside, "Reporting to Your Highness, someone is blocking the road."
Hailan glanced at Heyue, understood Heyue's meaning, and then lifted the carriage curtain to get out.
Heyue listened to the noise outside. At first, it was a high-pitched voice, and it was hard to tell whether it was male or female. After a while, the voice disappeared.
Hailan came up again and explained to Heyue, "Fujin, it was a servant from the Fourth Prince's residence. He said that the Fourth Prince invited you to meet him at Wangchun Teahouse."
He recognized the servants around the Fourth Prince, but the voice of the servant from earlier was unfamiliar.
Moreover, the Fourth Prince always valued rules and regulations, so why would he suddenly arrange to meet his younger brother and sister-in-law at a teahouse?
He Yue was suspicious, but then she wondered, who would impersonate someone close to the Fourth Prince? Wouldn't they be afraid of being punished by the Fourth Prince?
Having thought this through, he felt reassured and ordered someone to go to Wangchun Teahouse.
Wangchun Teahouse was just a short distance ahead by the roadside. Heyue got off the carriage and went into the teahouse with Hailan.
A waiter immediately came forward, seemingly aware of their identities. He smiled and bowed, inviting them upstairs: "Please come upstairs, esteemed guests."
Heyue nodded and followed the waiter upstairs to the second floor. The waiter led them into one of the rooms, but it was empty.
"Please wait a moment, Madam. The other gentleman will be here shortly. What would you like some tea, Madam?" the waiter asked respectfully.
"Azure Spring." He casually named one, and the waiter acknowledged and left.
He Yue surveyed the room's layout, walked to the window facing the street, and looked down at the people and scenery below, a hint of doubt lingering in her mind.
Even though Heyue and the Fourth Prince have always been close, the Fourth Prince is not such a rash person. Why would he ask her to meet outside instead of at the Fourth Prince's residence? Or is there something he can't say at the residence?
At first, Heyue didn't completely believe the servant's words. However, she was always very curious and never afraid of trouble. If it was the Fourth Prince, then so be it. But if it wasn't, she wanted to see who would set up such a trap for her.
"Madam, shall we leave?" Hailan felt uneasy. It was clearly the Fourth Prince who had invited her, but he hadn't shown up yet, and she wondered why.
She was afraid that something might happen if she stayed too long, after all, she was her brother's wife, and who knew what people would say if they saw them.
"It's alright, let's wait a bit." Heyue wasn't as nervous as her and casually sat down.
Since I'm here, I might as well make the best of it. I haven't learned anything else here, but I've certainly learned the word "composure" quite a bit.
Even if you have doubts in your heart, you must appear calm on the surface and not show any fear.
The waiter quickly served tea and then withdrew.
Hailan brewed tea for her and handed it to her. Heyue took it and took a small sip, pondering how Thirteen was doing and what had happened. She was somewhat absent-minded.
As time passed, the Fourth Prince still hadn't appeared. For some reason, his eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and he felt incredibly sleepy.
My gaze inadvertently fell on the tea foam floating in the teacup, and suddenly my heart skipped a beat, but it was too late.
Finally, all that was heard was Hailan's urgent cry of alarm, and then nothing more was heard.
He Yue has always had a strong will. If it were an ordinary woman, she would probably have fallen into a deep sleep long ago. Although she was hit by the attack, she still maintained a sliver of consciousness and tried her best to find the source of the sound and force herself to stay awake.
Although it was just a faint sound, she was able to hear a few words intermittently.
This is all thanks to her past life, in order to avoid being bullied, she trained herself to recognize and deal with danger.
Because of her beauty, what kind of scene hadn't she seen? But ever since she married Thirteen, she had become increasingly complacent and her sense of danger had weakened considerably. She was even drugged without any warning.
I wonder how Hailan is doing now. I just hope that the person who framed me wouldn't bother targeting a mere maid.
He Yue heard that the other party was two men, and one of their voices broke into her ears intermittently.
What was this about "...not simple...he only passed out after drinking three cups..."? She wondered if it was some kind of bully. But what bully would dare use the name of the Fourth Prince?
And the voice seemed somewhat familiar, but I just couldn't quite place it.
The person was still saying something like, "...almost there...we've achieved our goal...it's finally put your mind at ease..."
