The child was named Fusengge by his grandfather, Isanga.
A few days later, when Heyue went to see little Fusengge again, she found that he was no longer the wrinkled-faced boy he had been before. His eyes and nose looked just like Yiduli's, and his mouth looked like her sixth sister's. Heyue was overjoyed.
After returning home, He Yue praised her little nephew to Shisan, saying how adorable he was and how he would charm many young ladies when he grew up.
Thirteen immediately became unhappy, grabbed her and bit her nose, saying resentfully, "Why are you envious of other people's sons? You should give me a son too, he'll definitely be much better looking than that Fu Sengge!"
Seeing that he was truly furious, not just sulking, she let out a soft "uh," completely bewildered.
It wasn't until he pinned her down and took her several times in a very rough manner that Heyue gradually came to her senses.
It turned out that I had touched a nerve.
He Yue couldn't help but laugh and feel sorry for him. She hugged him and let him do whatever he wanted.
Thirteen's anger came suddenly but did not subside quickly. Instead, it grew more and more irritable. He would stare at Heyue's belly and curse, saying that the baby was too disobedient and why it was taking so long to arrive.
The way she looks makes you want to give your child a good beating in the future.
He Yue thought it was just a passing temper and that he would be fine after a while, so she didn't take it to heart.
This year's Lunar New Year's Eve was supposed to be a good day, but something not so big or small happened during the twelfth lunar month.
That day, Heyue was originally planning to visit Fusengge at her sixth sister's place when someone suddenly came from the palace—it was someone from Consort De's palace.
Although Consort De was the nominal mother of Thirteen, Heyue did not need to go to pay her respects every day.
She hadn't paid her respects today, but Consort De suddenly sent someone to invite her. Not knowing what was going on, Heyue changed her clothes and went with the messenger.
Upon arriving at the palace, however, the young eunuch did not lead him towards the Eastern Six Palaces, but rather…
He Yue's heart jumped instantly.
But he quickly calmed down and pondered the reasons and countermeasures.
If it were just an ordinary matter, why would someone impersonate someone from Consort De's palace? It seems that today's events are not simple.
Heyue calmly followed the person to their destination and looked up.
Sure enough, it was the Qianqing Palace.
The young eunuch took his leave, and Wei Zhu came out to greet him with a smile: "Thirteenth Princess Consort."
He Yue called out "Wei Anda," then feigned ignorance and asked, "I wonder why Father Emperor summoned me here?"
Then she secretly slipped him a piece of silver.
Wei Zhu refused to accept the gift, still greeting people with a smile: "Thirteenth Princess Consort, this servant does not know, His Majesty is still waiting."
He Yue's heart skipped a beat. If they wouldn't even accept the money, they probably wouldn't dare.
That only means things aren't simple.
After receiving the silver, Heyue followed Wei Zhu nervously into the East Warm Pavilion of the Qianqing Palace.
Emperor Kangxi was sitting behind his desk reviewing memorials, without even looking up.
Wei Zhu stepped forward and reported, "Your Majesty, the Thirteenth Princess Consort has arrived."
Heyue stepped forward and knelt down to pay her respects: "Heyue greets Father Emperor, may Father Emperor be blessed with ten thousand years of happiness and peace."
Kangxi did not speak. Wei Zhu waited for a moment and then quietly withdrew.
Then Heyue noticed that Kangxi seemed oblivious to her presence, remaining engrossed in his memorials, neither speaking nor urging her to rise.
Heyue could only kneel there, pondering what was going on, but she couldn't figure it out.
Heyue knelt for two hours.
As the sunlight streaming in through the window indicated that it was almost noon, He Yue felt her legs go numb and lose all feeling, yet her forehead was dripping with sweat in the dead of winter.
Several times I almost collapsed because I couldn't hold back, but I endured it, supporting my knees with both hands and gently rubbing them.
At this moment, Wei Zhu hurriedly came in to report: "Your Majesty, the Thirteenth Prince requests an audience."
He Yue was overjoyed, but her joy vanished in an instant.
Only then did Kangxi notice her. He looked up and glanced at her with a gentle expression, his face calm but his words cold: "Send him back!"
Wei Zhu bowed and withdrew.
He Yue's heart sank to the bottom in an instant. Even Thirteen was nowhere to be seen. Was she really unable to escape?
As the steady footsteps approached, Heyue immediately held her breath, knelt upright, and lowered her head.
The emperor stopped a step away from her. He Yue couldn't see his expression, but she could feel the heavy pressure of his aura pressing down on her.
Having already been kneeling for so long, his extremely weak body almost collapsed to the ground.
I forced myself to calm down, closed my eyes, and mentally encouraged myself, which helped me regain my balance.
"Do you know why I saw you?"
He Yue gently shook her head: "He Yue doesn't know."
"Then do you know why I punished you?" The emperor seemed to lean slightly closer to her, the shadow on the ground almost enveloping her entire body, making her already weak body and mind even more oppressed.
"Heyue...I don't know." The answer remained honest and calm.
"You're not bad," Kangxi said calmly, straightening up, standing with his hands behind his back, looking down at her.
"To be able to withstand two hours of pressure from me, a woman is no ordinary person."
He Yue remained silent, unsure how to respond.
Kangxi didn't seem to ask her for an answer, and continued to say, "I remember the first time I met you, you were dragged to the Qianqing Palace by your father because you hit the thirteenth prince."
I was furious at the time. How dare she hit my son! I was determined to punish her severely. But when I saw you kneeling before me with injuries on your face, yet so stubborn and unyielding, I suddenly softened.
Such a young child, knowing he had committed a crime, dared to be so fearless before me, resolutely refusing to confess. Marhan has done a good job in his upbringing; you possess the spirit of our Manchus. I have decided to pardon you.”
Hearing his words, He Yue didn't feel much.
