Chapter 294 Premature Birth

"Have you found anything from the Wusu clan?" He Yue looked at him, who was becoming increasingly cautious, as if afraid of upsetting or making her feel uncomfortable, and couldn't help but feel a headache coming on.

How could she not know what the other person was thinking? It's just that Heyue couldn't bring herself to be nice to him when that woman was about to give birth.

Knowing that Thirteen had also been investigating that matter, and since he had no leads, perhaps he could find something out from him.

Thirteen cautiously observed her expression, his voice muffled: "There's been no movement from her side. She's been staying in her room these past few months, resting and preparing for childbirth. She's probably being cautious, since she's pregnant. Even if something were to happen, she wouldn't dare to do anything. However, the maid she brought from her maiden home has some kind of affair with Awang, the servant in her courtyard."

"Her maid is quite bold, daring to have an affair. Do you plan to punish them or grant their wish?" Heyue asked, puzzled.

Thirteen frowned: "I didn't find that we crossed the line. It's just that we each had our own intentions. It's not a big deal. It's fine to let it go, so as to avoid any trouble."

"Will that maid still serve by Wusu's side from now on?" Something flashed through Heyue's mind, and she asked curiously.

Thirteen nodded: "I heard it's something the Wusu family has always used and trusts, so they must be reluctant to part with it."

He Yue fell into deep thought, muttering to herself, "If she really is a maid from her maternal family, she must be someone I trust very much. If Wu Su really wants to do something, I imagine she will be indispensable."

Thirteen's eyes lit up, and he suddenly leaned over and kissed her cheek: "The Princess Consort is so clever. I'll have someone keep an eye on that maid."

Heyue covered her face and glared at him: "Stop it, I bet you already thought of this."

Is she really that easy to coax?

Thirteen chuckled, not embarrassed at all: "You're right, I've already had people keeping an eye on her, but apart from spending most of her time with the servant Awang, she doesn't seem to have much contact with anyone else."

The fact that they couldn't catch a single movement for so long shows how much Wusushi cares about this child.

A few days later, Heyue was taking a nap when Hailan suddenly rushed over.

"Madam, Madam, something terrible has happened!" Hailan rushed in, panting.

He Yue suddenly opened her eyes and frowned: "What's wrong?"

Hailan caught her breath and said, "Princess Wusu gave birth prematurely!"

He Yue was surprised. How could this be?

"How is it now? Have you found out what happened?" Heyue pressed.

"It is said that the maidservant of Princess Wusu went missing, and Princess Wusu went into premature labor in her anxiety."

The maid has disappeared? How could she just vanish without a trace?

He Yue raised an eyebrow, suddenly recalling what she had said to Thirteen that day. A thought struck her: Could it be him?

"Keep a close eye on things. Report to me immediately about what's happening over there. Tell the midwife to make sure the mother and child are safe!" Heyue instructed in a deep voice.

Hailan gave a listless reply and turned to leave.

Heyue wasn't worried and waited patiently.

When Thirteen returned and heard about this, he came straight to Heyue's place.

He Yue immediately launched into a tirade: "Tell me, did you have Qiu Ling arrested?"

Thirteen touched his nose and smiled sheepishly: "I just wanted to interrogate her to see if I could get anything out of her, I didn't expect that Wusu would have a premature birth because of this."

"Hmph! If something happens to her and the baby in her belly, let's see what you'll do!" Heyue glared at him fiercely.

There's no point in saying anything now that things have come to this.

Thirteen quickly hugged her: "Alright, don't worry about her. But the fact that she cares so much about that maid means something must have happened."

"So what did you find out?" He Yue laughed sarcastically.

Thirteen's face stiffened, and he lowered his head: "No."

He only grabbed the maid in a moment of panic, but the maid was very stubborn and refused to say anything.

He Yue scoffed and scolded him, "You're really something!"

Now all we can do is wait and see what happens over there. We just hope nothing bad has happened, otherwise this accusation will be pinned on her.

She doesn't like taking the blame for others.

Thirteen looked quite relaxed, even having the mind to be affectionate with Heyue. Heyue slapped away his outstretched hand and looked at him sullenly: "You're very leisurely!"

She rubbed her reddened hand with a wronged expression, and pouted: "What's the use of worrying? Rather than waiting around, I still prefer to be with you..." She didn't finish her sentence, but her expression spoke volumes, and her eyes sparkled.

Seeing his expression that clearly indicated "I'm in a good mood," He Yue's forehead veins throbbed, and she gave him a stern warning: "You better be serious!"

Thirteen immediately regained his composure and dared not make any further moves.

After dinner, there was still no result from the other side. Because she was pregnant, Heyue couldn't resist the drowsiness and went to rest first.

Before dawn, I heard people talking, and I vaguely heard something like "She gave birth to a daughter" and "Mother and daughter are safe."

Heyue groggily opened her eyes and stirred. Thirteen noticed, lowered his head, kissed her cheek, and comforted her, "Go to sleep."

But the embrace beside me never left.

He Yue wondered if he was truly confident that the child wasn't his, or if he simply didn't care.

That's true, it's just a daughter, nobody will care.

Now that Wusu has given birth to a daughter, she must be feeling extremely distressed.

A sense of satisfaction welled up inside me.

He Yue learned later that Thirteen had already sent the maid back, but hadn't even glanced at her.

However, Wusu was already in poor health, and this time she was greatly weakened and remained unconscious for two days before waking up.

They sent someone to comfort her and tell her to rest well, but the person who replied said that Wusu looked very unwell and was crying while hugging her maid when they went in.
