Chapter 319 Looks like a blood-soaked person

He gently applied the medicine, then carefully helped her lie down. He lay down on her side, holding her close and patting her back gently: "I'll hold you. If it hurts, sleep for a while. I'll leave after you fall asleep."

He Yue propped her head up with one hand and stroked his handsome face with the other, chuckling, "It's just a sprained ankle, why are you so nervous? I'm not made of paper."

However, it feels really nice to be taken care of like this.

Thirteen grasped the hand that was stroking his face, his expression solemn: "Even the slightest injury can make me heartbroken for half a day. I just don't want to see you hurt. So what if I'm making a mountain out of a molehill?"

Her huffy expression made her look just like a little tiger that had been provoked. Her gentle eyes curved into crescents, and she stroked the hair behind his head, soothing him as she did so: "Alright, alright, I like it when you make a big deal out of nothing, okay?"

She lowered her head and lightly touched his forehead with her lips. The touch was brief, but it immediately eased Thirteen's displeasure, and his expression softened.

The two embraced, and Heyue rested her head on his chest. She fell asleep soon after, and when she woke up again it was already afternoon. Thirteen was not there.

The First and Eighth Prince's wives came to see her again. Seeing that she was in good spirits, they both looked relieved and left after chatting for a while.

Feeling bored, He Yue asked Hailan to pick up a book to read casually, but she became drowsy while reading, and the afternoon passed slowly.

That evening, Thirteen returned and gave her a nine-linked ring: "This is something I got from Father Emperor. You can play with it if you're bored, but you're not allowed to go out until you're healed, understand?"

Heyue muttered dejectedly, "Am I really that unreliable in your eyes? You're so eager to send me this to comfort me."

Even so, I was actually quite happy.

She was looking for something to do, and this nine-linked rings was something she could take apart and play with to pass the time.

"I really don't believe you can stay put obediently." Thirteen snorted irritably, which made Heyue's face darken instantly, and she gritted her teeth inwardly.

That thirteenth! He really doesn't give her any face at all.

Hailan and Zhizhu lowered their heads and shrugged their shoulders.

He Yue noticed that his complexion was getting worse.

Thirteen was completely unaware, and slowly sipped his tea.

Tonight, Thirteen did not go to guard around the imperial tent, but rested inside the tent.

Thinking of Heyue's injury, Thirteen did nothing but quietly hold her and sleep until dawn.

When I got up, I didn't wake Heyue, so Heyue was still sleeping soundly.

Because he was going hunting with Mongolian princes today, Thirteen dressed up early in a dark green robe to pay his respects to the emperor.

He Yue got up at dawn, had breakfast, and learned that the emperor and all the princes had gone to the hunting grounds. The First and Eighth Princes' wives, as female relatives, had also gone to the hunting grounds.

Only Heyue remained because she was injured.

After applying the medicine again in the morning, Heyue sat on the tatami mat, engrossed in playing with the nine-linked rings.

She had never played with this before, so it was quite difficult for her, and she lost interest in thinking about anything else.

After an unknown amount of time, Heyue angrily threw down the nine-linked rings.

She didn't expect that what looked easy would be so difficult to do, but she wasn't one to give up easily, and she refused to believe that she couldn't do it well.

I took a sip of tea and was about to continue when suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my chest, as if something had pierced me.

Heyue clutched her chest, her face suddenly turning as white as paper. She collapsed weakly onto the couch, groaning in pain.

Hailan, who was standing nearby, quickly helped her up and asked anxiously, "Madam, what's wrong?"

Heyue waved her hand; the pain came and went quickly, and she suddenly felt much better.

Just as I was at a loss, wondering if there was something wrong with my heart, I felt a burning sensation in my palm.

My heart skipped a beat, and I quickly raised my hand to look at the dazzling red line. In an instant, I understood what had happened.

I also understood what caused that momentary heartache.

Thirteen is injured.

The red line had never been so clear before, even darker than the last time, clearly indicating a severe injury. Thirteen was currently in the hunting grounds, which had already been cleared, so he shouldn't encounter any great danger.

Now that he's injured, what happened?

He Yue suddenly stood up and was about to walk out when a sharp pain shot through her foot, causing her to gasp for breath.

It turned out that she had forgotten that she was still injured, and in a moment of carelessness, she twisted her body again, which seemed to have aggravated her injury.

Hailan quickly helped her sit down: "Madam, be careful, are you hurt? This servant will go and call the imperial physician right away."

He Yue grasped her arm, her face pale, and shook her head: "No need."

The deed is done, and there's no use in being anxious. Even if she wanted to go find him now, it would be too late. Heyue instructed Zhizhu, "Go outside and keep watch. Report back as soon as the master returns."

Zhizhu was puzzled. It was still early, so why was the master back so early? Seeing her extremely pale face, she dared not say anything and hurriedly went to wait outside the tent.

He Yue managed to calm herself down, telling herself that everything would be alright, but she couldn't control her wildly beating heart.

About fifteen minutes later, a commotion broke out outside, and Zhizhu rushed in, her face pale, and reported, "Madam, the master... the master is injured."

Heyue, supporting Hailan's hand, stood up and, enduring the pain, went outside. Sure enough, she saw a group of soldiers in Eight Banners armor carrying the unconscious Thirteenth Prince back. Thirteenth Prince was covered in blood, as if he had suffered a very serious injury. He looked like a blood-soaked person, especially in his chest, where a broken arrow was stuck.

Li Shun'er followed beside her, flustered. Upon seeing He Yue, she knelt down with a thud: "Fujin, the master... the master..." but she was crying and unable to speak.
