He Yue burst out laughing.
Sixth Sister thinks Yiduli is too easy to seduce, but Mongolian princesses are indeed fierce and direct.
Not long after, Heyue left.
Just as they returned to the main courtyard, Zhiju reported that someone was requesting an audience, saying it was an old friend of Heyue.
He raised an eyebrow, a familiar face?
The person who answered the question was a woman, but she was wearing a veil. He Yue was curious; this person was quite mysterious.
So he ordered someone to come in, and then sat in the main room to wait.
Hailan brewed a cup of Pu'er tea and handed it to Heyue, who picked up the teacup and slowly sipped it.
Fifteen minutes later, Zhiju led in a graceful young woman with a snow-white veil covering her face and her head bowed.
Heyue examined the figure carefully, feeling that it seemed somewhat familiar, but she couldn't quite place it.
The newcomer performed a curtsy, her voice soft and pleasant: "This humble servant greets the Thirteenth Princess Consort."
She doesn't refer to herself as a commoner, but rather as a concubine, suggesting she is a married woman.
"Who are you? What do you want with me?" He Yue asked directly.
The woman glanced left and right, her clear eyes meeting Heyue's gaze: "Who I am is not important, what is important is that I have something important to say to the Princess."
This means they want to talk about it privately.
However, He Yue wouldn't be led by the nose. She slowly lowered her head and took a sip of tea: "They are my close friends and family. You can speak your mind freely."
The woman's delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly beneath her veil, clearly displeased, but she suppressed her displeasure and gently reminded her, "This matter is related to the secret of the Thirteenth Prince's wife. Please be cautious, Thirteenth Prince's wife."
He Yue was taken aback, looked up at her knowing gaze, and after a moment, smiled slightly, but her eyes were cool: "What secrets could I possibly have? Don't talk nonsense."
"For example, about the origins of the Thirteenth Prince's wife." The man was not in a hurry, speaking slowly and confidently.
He Yue tightened her grip on the teacup, but remained outwardly calm, inwardly guessing the identity and purpose of the newcomer.
Could she be another time traveler? Does she know her origins? What is her purpose?
However, no matter what, you must remain calm and not give yourself away, regardless of whether she is right or wrong.
"You're a strange person. Everyone knows I'm Zhaojia Heyue, the daughter of the Minister of Personnel, Marhan, and the Thirteenth Prince's Consort bestowed by the Emperor himself. Yet you're spouting nonsense here and hiding your true face. Believe me or not, I'll have someone drag you out right now!" Heyue's face suddenly darkened, and she rebuked her sharply.
He Yue's Ama Marhan was just transferred from Minister of War to Minister of Personnel this spring, hence He Yue's saying.
The other woman frowned, a hint of hesitation flashing in her eyes. A questioning gaze swept across her face before she finally reached to her ear, slowly removing her veil. She looked up directly at He Yue and gave a slight, bitter smile: "My lady, how have you been?"
When He Yue saw her true face, she was slightly surprised. It was her!
Countless thoughts raced through her mind, and the next moment, she showed a look of realization, a slight smile playing on her lips: "So it was you. Why aren't you at Yuqing Palace? What are you doing here?"
This person was Xia Ting, whom He Yue hadn't seen for many years.
When she was taken back to Yuqing Palace by the Crown Prince, she met Heyue once before leaving and said some strange things. After that, she was never seen again.
He Yue had completely forgotten about her, but she didn't expect her to come to see her at this time, or perhaps she was trying to test him.
However, knowing that Xia Ting had only been bluffing and wasn't entirely sure of He Yue's identity, He Yue wasn't in a hurry. She wanted to see what Xia Ting was up to.
"Xia Ting has something important to discuss with the Princess Consort, and I ask for her permission," Xia Ting said earnestly.
Just a moment ago, he was so confident that Heyue would agree to her request, but now he's lowered his stance.
He Yue scoffed inwardly and didn't make things difficult for her any further, waving her hand to dismiss Hailan and the others.
Hailan looked hesitant and glanced at Xia Ting with displeasure, but then went down after being prompted by Heyue's gaze.
"Now you can speak frankly, right?" He Yue looked at her with interest and gestured for her to sit on the brocade stool to the side.
Xia Ting sat down, but her gaze was fixed on He Yue, her eyes filled with excitement and anticipation, a far cry from her previous calm and composure.
What was she expecting? What was she excited about? He Yue was puzzled, but waited patiently for her to speak.
"You are Zhao Heyue!" It wasn't a question, but an affirmation.
He Yue looked up in surprise, staring at her intently. Seeing the excitement in her eyes, she was speechless.
Regardless of whether she was guessing or had evidence, what was with that excited tone of hers?
If she's truly certain she's Zhao Heyue, shouldn't she be hiding? Why the expression?
"You can ask around outside, what is the Thirteenth Prince's wife's surname? You don't need to ask me," Heyue reminded her with a smile, not admitting it.
Xia Ting frowned unhappily: "You don't need to deny it. I know you are. I know you have concerns. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
Seeing her eagerness to express her opinion, He Yue really wanted to laugh, not knowing whether to call her stupid or what.
She came all this way just to tell me she knows who she is. Isn't she afraid I'll kill her?
"I have nothing to fear from outsiders knowing. You come out like this, running into my residence and spouting nonsense. Does the Crown Prince know about this?"
Xia Ting nodded matter-of-factly: "Of course he knows. I told him I missed home, and he allowed me to leave the palace."
It seems the Crown Prince still dotes on her quite a bit. Is it because he likes her silly, innocent appearance? He Yue thought to herself.
However, He Yue didn't care how the Crown Prince treated her; she just wanted to get rid of her as soon as possible.
"You should return to the palace as soon as possible, lest the Crown Prince worry about you." He Yue directly gave him the order to leave.
Xia Ting was taken aback, then shook her head unhappily: "You still haven't said whether you are Zhao Heyue or not?"
