Chapter 360 Jealousy

Eastern Sichuan consists mostly of basins and hills, with a warm and humid climate. However, due to its distance from Beijing and its location in the remote northwest, it is relatively barren.

The local people wear their own unique clothing, mostly ethnic minority attire. They are dark-skinned and very hospitable.

They were very curious and enthusiastic about He Yue and his group of outsiders, who were simply dressed but had an outstanding appearance and temperament.

If things continue like this, it will be difficult to avoid being noticed.

Both Heyue and Shisan overlooked this point.

The two men were both outstanding in appearance and demeanor. Although they were dressed simply, the quality of their clothes was above average. They were also accompanied by well-dressed maids and servants. Such people did not seem like wealthy merchants from out of town.

However, the two were adaptable and didn't pay much attention, continuing to walk slowly as if they were a couple who had come here by chance.

They found an inn in the town and stayed there. They left two old women and two maids to watch over the place, and the couple, along with two guards and Li Shun'er, went out.

The midday sun was just right, warming everyone. The group left the town and arrived at a place outside the town with lush water and grass.

Looking west from here, you can vaguely see the plateau and the continuous mountain range.

Suddenly, a cry for help and a man's taunting laughter rang out from not far away.

The two people who were admiring the scenery exchanged a glance. Neither of them wanted to cause trouble, but when they heard that the person calling for help was a young woman, they couldn't bear to leave.

Heyue squeezed his hand and looked up at him: "Let's go take a look."

Thirteen nodded, gave an order to the two guards, and the two immediately rushed over.

Soon after, the sounds of weapons cutting through the air and a group of people shouting and cursing could be heard.

The two guards who came out were naturally skilled fighters capable of taking on ten men at once, and in no time they had driven away the dozen or so thieves.

Heyue and Shisan walked over and saw a carriage lying alone by the roadside, with a young girl in a pale yellow dress and a maidservant cowering to one side.

The two guards returned behind Thirteen, and only then did the young girl see He Yue and her group. A hint of amazement flashed in her clear eyes.

Just as Heyue and Shisan were about to leave, the young girl suddenly called out softly, "Wait, wait!"

The two men turned around and saw the young woman, supported by her maid, swaying as she stood up. Her face was still somewhat pale, her figure thin and frail, and she looked at them anxiously: "Thank you both for your help. I am extremely grateful."

Having said that, he curtsied.

He Yue was surprised. She seemed to be a young lady from a wealthy family. Her manners were impeccable, but she was too frail, as if a gust of wind could blow her away. She was also too timid.

The two men had no intention of saying much to her, and seeing that Thirteen clearly didn't want to talk to her, Heyue answered for him: "It was just an act of kindness, young lady, no need for such formalities, farewell."

After saying that, he turned and left.

Disappointment flashed in the girl's eyes, but she didn't say anything more.

They had only taken a few steps when they heard the sound of horses' hooves. Heyue and Shisan exchanged a surprised glance.

Could it be that the accomplices of those petty thieves have arrived?

They were all prepared for battle, but a short while later, a young man in his thirties, dressed in a dark blue robe, rode up on horseback, followed by a dozen or so men dressed as soldiers.

The person who brought troops must be a local official.

The two of them first breathed a sigh of relief, but then couldn't help feeling nervous.

The reason is simple: neither Heyue nor Shisan are ordinary people. If the other party is just an ordinary local official, it will be fine, but if it is a high-ranking official who has been to the capital, he might recognize Shisan.

However, the group was clearly heading this way and quickly surrounded them, making it difficult to break out.

He Yue cursed her bad luck inwardly. How could she encounter such a situation after simply trying to save someone?

I should have just ignored it.

When the group got closer, Heyue was able to see the man on horseback clearly.

How should I put it? Although He Yue had seen many handsome men, this one was different.

The person in front of me wasn't particularly handsome or outstanding, but he was tall, with well-defined features and a cold, stern expression. In particular, the wild and untamed aura he exuded was irresistible.

At least, Heyue was completely mesmerized.

This kind of person is exactly what she looks like, isn't he?

If this were her past life, this kind of person would have been her first choice for a boyfriend.

Unfortunately, she never met him, and she always regretted it, thinking that she would probably be alone for the rest of her life.

Until later, by chance, I came here.

Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes.

Suddenly, she felt a chill run through her body. Turning around, she was met with Thirteen's eyes, which seemed to want to bite her to death. A strong force came from her waist, as if it wanted to break her waist.

Heyue touched her nose, smiled sheepishly, and was so engrossed in watching that she forgot she was already a married woman, and that the person next to her was a jealous man.

Now she dared not look in that direction even once, otherwise Heyue would suspect that Thirteen would devour her alive that night.

The man in front of me is still quite formidable in terms of fighting ability.

"Yuzhu!" the man in blue exclaimed, leaping off his horse and galloping towards the girl.

The girl immediately smiled with a mixture of joy and shyness: "Brother!"

The man grabbed the girl's shoulder, frowned, and looked her up and down anxiously: "Are you alright?"

The girl named Yuzhu shook her head: "I'm fine, brother."

Seeing that she was truly unharmed, the man breathed a sigh of relief, then became furious, and shouted angrily, "Who gave you permission to run out? Don't you know it's dangerous?"

Yu Zhu's eyes dimmed, and she lowered her head: "I... I was just feeling bored and wanted to go out and see the world..."
