Chapter 47 Tips

The words were somewhat convoluted and childish, leaving the Fourth Prince speechless. He thought he must be out of his mind to listen to a child's complaints.

But slowly he seemed to realize something, and suddenly looked at Heyue, his sharp gaze trying to see something in her face, but he only saw innocence and distress, as if it were really just childish talk.

He smiled wryly, thinking to himself that he had overthought things; what was wrong with a child asking such a question?

Although I felt it was unnecessary to explain this to a child, I couldn't bear to see her looking distressed. After thinking for a while, I asked a simple question: "Do you like it when your sixth sister and the fourteenth prince play together?"

He Yue tilted her head and thought for a while, then shook her head: "I don't like it."

"Why?" the Fourth Prince asked curiously.

"Because the Fourteenth Prince doesn't like the Sixth Sister." Heyue's eyes widened as she spoke matter-of-factly.

"What if the Fourteenth Prince likes your Sixth Sister?" he asked another question.

Heyue stared intently at the Fourth Prince, trying to guess his purpose in asking the question, but she couldn't figure it out. So she simply stopped thinking about it and answered seriously according to her own thoughts: "That also depends on whether Sixth Sister likes it."

The Fourth Prince chuckled inwardly; she truly had the mind of a child. He changed his tone, his expression becoming more serious, and his voice more earnest: "If it were up to you, you would agree to let the Fourteenth Prince and your Sixth Sister be together as long as they like each other. But others don't think that way. Perhaps you don't understand what I'm saying, but I still have to remind you that in Father Emperor's heart, the loyalty of his subjects is the most important thing. And the prerequisite for loyalty is impartiality. If your Sixth Sister gets too close to the Fourteenth Prince, it would be equivalent to losing her own heart, and she would also lose the Emperor's heart. You should know that the fact that your older sisters haven't married into the royal family already represents your father's thoughts and the Emperor's thoughts. If you were in that situation, what would you do?"

He Yue stared at him blankly, and as his words settled, a sense of clarity dawned on her.

But she was, after all, a child, and at this moment she couldn't pretend to understand. She could only feign ignorance, lower her head, and ponder deeply.

The Fourth Prince knew she didn't understand, nor did he expect her to: "I know you don't understand, and you don't need to understand. I just want to tell you that your father's decision is the right one. If your father disagrees, there's no need to force him. Besides..." The Fourth Prince paused, flicked her forehead with his finger, and watched her cry out as she covered her forehead, her face showing indignation. He then chuckled: "Even if your father is willing, it's not an easy matter. The world isn't just about the Zhaojia family. There are many outstanding princesses from families like the Wanyan, Fucha, Niohuru, and Irgen Gioro. Compared to them, your sixth sister is no better than anyone else."

While this is true, it is also extremely blunt.

Heyue was genuinely angry at this moment, and gave a disgruntled snort: "What's wrong with my sixth sister? My sixth sister and the sister from the Fucha family are very, very good women, unlike what the Fourth Prince said. That bad girl from the Wanyan family is no match for my sixth sister and the sister from the Fucha family."

Hmph, how can such an arrogant and rude person compare to Sixth Sister and Sister Fucha?

However, after hearing his words, Heyue felt relieved. Indeed, putting aside her own family's wishes, compared to the other major families, her family was really nothing. She was truly misled by Consort De's attitude.

In the future, men and women will have to compare several families when they go on blind dates, let alone the royal family in ancient times, who were extremely careful in choosing their primary consort.

Having figured this out, Heyue felt much relieved. Sure enough, asking the Fourth Prince was the right thing to do. She really hadn't expected that the Fourth Prince wouldn't speak up for the Fourteenth Prince, but instead would give her advice based on the actual situation.

He Yue suddenly felt a greater sense of closeness to the Fourth Prince.

The Fourth Prince chuckled slightly, but didn't continue the topic. He changed the subject, saying, "I heard you had a conflict with Wanyan yesterday and she hit you. Does it still hurt?" His gaze lingered on her delicate, flower-petal-like face for a moment, and he breathed a sigh of relief, thankfully without leaving any marks.

Heyue touched her left cheek and chuckled, "It's nothing, it doesn't hurt anymore."

The Fourth Prince shook his head and sighed: "Your competitive nature will eventually lead to your downfall. In the future, you should avoid Wanyan and not provoke her again."

He Yue lowered her head, inwardly grumbling that even if she didn't provoke her, she would still provoke her and her sixth sister. It was unacceptable for her to swallow her anger, but on the surface she smiled and nodded in agreement.

The Fourth Prince escorted Heyue back to the entrance of Yonghe Palace and then left the palace. Heyue returned to Yonghe Palace alone and found that her Sixth Sister had already returned, but the Fourteenth Prince was nowhere to be seen.

Seeing that Sixth Sister looked well, Heyue was very curious about what had happened between Sixth Sister and Fourteenth Prince, but due to the inappropriate occasion, she had to suppress her curiosity and sit for a while before Irgen Gioro Clan bid farewell to Consort De and left the palace with her two daughters.

"Sixth Sister, tell me quickly, has the Fourteenth Prince bullied you?" As soon as she got into the carriage, Heyue asked her sixth sister impatiently.

After all, the Fourteenth Prince treated the two of them coldly back then, and Heyue was very worried that the Fourteenth Prince was bullying her sixth sister.

Yan Yue raised her chin and snorted: "How could he bully me? At first, he was indeed rude and even wanted to leave me with the palace maids. How could I allow that? So I stopped him from leaving and told him that either he would personally send me back or I would complain to Consort De. As a result, the Fourteenth Prince got angry, but he couldn't do anything to me, so he had no choice but to obediently send me back."

Speaking of this, Yan Yue burst out laughing, looking quite pleased with herself.

Heyue imagined the Fourteenth Prince's exasperated and helpless expression, and chuckled unkindly. Her eyes crinkled as she gave her Sixth Sister a thumbs-up and praised her without any politeness: "Sixth Sister, you're really amazing."
