Chapter 59 The Fourth Prince's Wife Invites You

People from the palace came, and Consort De sent Irgen Gioro and Yan Yue into the palace.

Lady Irgen Gioro dared not delay. She changed into the robes of a second-rank lady and then took Yan Yue into the palace.

Yonghe Palace was bustling with activity that day.

First, Consort De met with Lady Irgen Gioro, a second-rank imperial consort, and her sixth daughter, Lady Zhaojia. Before they could exchange more than a few words, the Fourteenth Prince entered Yonghe Palace with a beaming smile to pay his respects.

After paying his respects, the Fourteenth Prince sat opposite the two members of the Irgen Gioro clan. He looked at Yan Yue across from him and grinned.

"How is Yan Yue doing lately?"

Unlike last time, this time the Fourteenth Prince no longer glared at her coldly, but smiled and affectionately called her "sister".

Yan Yue was stunned and looked over in disbelief, only to meet the Fourteenth Prince's smiling face, a smile that was both friendly and ingratiating.

Irgen Gioro was also surprised, but he covered it up very well.

Yan Yue replied politely, and the Fourteenth Prince smiled even more happily, talking non-stop. He would say things like, "Sister Yan Yue has become even more beautiful in the few days I haven't seen her," and "Your clothes are really beautiful today," and "Your headdress is also very nice." He was as enthusiastic as could be.

Yan Yue's lips twitched, realizing she had encountered a fake Fourteenth Prince. The last time they met, he clearly seemed unwelcoming, but now he was like a completely different person.

Hearing the Fourteenth Prince's words, Yan Yue was very displeased with his attentiveness, but because Consort De was present, she could not be cold to the Fourteenth Prince.

Yan Yue felt increasingly suspicious that the other party might be plotting something against her, and her whole body immediately tensed up.

Since her last encounter with the Fourteenth Prince, Yan Yue had grown tired of his arrogant and domineering nature. Although she saw that his attitude had improved somewhat, she was not going to change her opinion of him and her attitude was not very warm.

Seeing that Yan Yue was indifferent and didn't care, the Fourteenth Prince couldn't sit still for long. He turned to Consort De and said, "Mother, I think Yan Yue must be bored. I'll take her for a walk in the Imperial Garden."

Seeing this, Consort De smiled kindly and waved her hand: "Go."

The Fourteenth Prince quickly agreed and stood up first.

Yan Yue reluctantly bowed and, under the worried gaze of Lady Irgen Gioro, left Yonghe Palace one after the other with the Fourteenth Prince.

The Fourteenth Prince walked ahead, while Yan Yue followed behind, secretly sulking.

Honestly, what's there to see in the Imperial Garden at this time of year? I'd rather go home and keep Seventh Sister company.

This Fourteenth Prince is strange. He was so lukewarm last time, but now he's so affectionate. What on earth is he up to? Could he be possessed by something? Thinking of this, Yan Yue couldn't help but shudder.

On second thought, it seemed unlikely. The thought from before resurfaced: Could it be that they were planning to take me somewhere and teach me a lesson?

The more she thought about it, the more likely it seemed, and Yan Yue gradually slowed her pace.

After walking for a long time, the Fourteenth Prince saw that the other party had not caught up. He turned around and saw Yan Yue slowly following behind. He stepped forward and took her hand with displeasure: "Why are you walking so slowly?"

Yan Yue pulled her hand away abruptly, taking a step back in fright, and glared angrily: "What is Fourteenth Master doing?"

Seeing her intense attitude, the Fourteenth Prince realized he had overstepped his bounds, and withdrew his hand somewhat awkwardly, smiling apologetically: "I didn't mean to."

Seeing that she was still in a bad mood, her eyes blazing like sparkling stars, even more beautiful than usual, and recalling what he had done last time, he understood his aversion to her. His tone became gentler: "Are you still angry about what happened last time? I really didn't mean to. You know that as a prince, I have a lot of studies and really don't have much time. That's why I neglected you. Please don't blame me."

"Won't the Fourteenth Prince have a lot of studies this time?" Yan Yue gritted her teeth and immediately asked back.

The Fourteenth Prince's face stiffened. Meeting her impatient gaze, he said apologetically, "Wasn't this trip to keep you company? You see, you rarely come to the palace. How about I show you around?"

This means they intend to avoid discussing it further.

Yan Yue snorted inwardly, but didn't refuse anymore. Since she was already out, she might as well take the opportunity to have some fun. As for the person next to her, she could just pretend he didn't exist.

At noon, Lady Irgen Gioro and Yan Yue returned to the mansion, and Yan Yue immediately went to play with her seventh sister.

Seventh Sister has changed so much these days, she's much more fun than before.

Once back at the manor, Yan Yue would spend most of her time playing with her seventh sister.

Upon seeing He Yue, Yan Yue immediately lay down on the soft couch and sighed comfortably, "So comfortable."

Heyue sat down next to her and asked curiously, "What happened today? Why are you so tired?"

"Isn't it the Fourteenth Prince?" Yan Yue pouted and recounted the events of the day in detail.

"Do you think he's up to something? Trying to get revenge? After all, I really offended him that time."

Seeing that her sixth sister looked unhappy and worried, Heyue rolled her eyes and thought that there were some things that her sixth sister should know. If she continued to be so ignorant, wouldn't she be deceived by the fourteenth prince?

"Sixth Sister, do you still remember what Consort De told us when she summoned us to the palace?" Heyue asked tentatively.

"Huh? What?" Yan Yue tilted her head, not quite understanding for a moment.

Heyue thought for a moment and said, "Last time in the palace, didn't Consort De intend to make Sixth Sister the Fourteenth Prince's wife? When I came back from the palace, I heard Father and Mother talking about how Consort De wanted you to marry the Fourteenth Prince as his wife."

"So what?" Yan Yue's face darkened instantly, her tone resolute: "Father and Mother will never agree to that."

Seeing Sixth Sister like this, Heyue was completely relieved. It seemed that Sixth Sister had no feelings for Fourteenth Prince at all, which made things much easier.
