He Yue was taken aback; he could actually see her?
For some reason, she was able to clearly know that she was in a dream, but she was unable to wake up.
Everything before her eyes was just a dream, but the man suddenly evoked a feeling of pity and closeness in her, and she subconsciously walked towards him and squatted down beside him.
She reached out and poked his face, and was surprised to find that she could actually touch his skin.
The man reached out and took her hand, which startled He Yue. Seeing that his hand was dirty, He Yue wanted to pull her hand away, but looking at his vulnerable appearance, she didn't pull it away in the end, letting him hold her hand and place it on his face.
The man squinted at her, a slight smile playing on his lips, and murmured, "Don't leave me, stay with me, okay?"
Such a weak man softened He Yue's heart, and she nodded.
She asked herself if she would ever feel such tenderness towards strangers. No matter how miserable other people's circumstances were, it was none of her business. But she just couldn't bring herself to be ruthless towards the person in front of her.
The man closed his eyes contentedly, murmuring, "You're so good."
He chuckled softly. Despite being such a grown man, he spoke such childish words, like a child.
Why don't you let her stay with you?
He Yue asked, "Since that person is his wife, why did you drive her away? Didn't he want someone to keep him company? Why did you drive away his only close person?"
Somehow, she knew that the man was his wife, but why wouldn't she stay with him when he was so sad?
The man suddenly chuckled, a mocking look on his face. His eyes were lifeless as he stared at the sky above him: "Her? She doesn't understand anything. All she knows is to cry and whine. She's virtuous and obedient, a good woman in the eyes of the world. But what can she do in a place like this? Here, she's just a pretty face. Seeing her makes me annoyed."
Upon hearing his words, for some reason, a surge of anger suddenly welled up in Heyue's heart.
