Chun Ya remembered what she was going to say and immediately reported, "Madam, the Sixth Princess has met with someone!"
The words "they bumped heads" really startled He Yue, who jumped up, her face pale.
"What happened?!" He Yue demanded sharply, her mind in turmoil.
How could this be? We've only been back for less than a day, how could such a thing happen again? To be able to muster the will to die is certainly no ordinary matter.
He Yue was filled with regret. She shouldn't have let Yi Duli take her sixth sister away; it was all her fault.
Granny Wang was also shocked and anxious. Seeing that Heyue was extremely worried and in a daze, she hurriedly stepped forward to help her up: "Princess Consort, please rest assured. Sixth Princess is very lucky and will definitely be alright."
Chun Ya then reported, "The person who came was Zan Yun, who was by the side of the Sixth Princess. She said that the Sixth Princess was out of danger, but wanted to see her."
He Yue breathed a sigh of relief; the palm of her hand, which was gripping Wang Mama's, was already damp.
Because she was worried about her sixth sister, Heyue left the mansion in a hurry without even changing her clothes.
Upon meeting Zanyun, she explained the whole story: "Yesterday, the young mistress returned to the mansion and met with Concubine Zhang this morning. She intended to tell Concubine Zhang to take good care of herself during her pregnancy and also to give her a warning. However, Concubine Zhang complained of stomach pain as soon as she returned to her room. She called the doctor, who said that she had been frightened and that the fetus was unstable. The madam and son-in-law suspected that the young mistress had said something to threaten Concubine Zhang. In a fit of anger, the young mistress banged her head against the wall, intending to prove her innocence with her death."
Zanyun choked back tears, deeply worried: "Although the young mistress is angry, she would never have the intention to harm anyone. The young mistress is also extremely heartbroken."
He Yue was furious. Was Yi Duli out of his mind? He actually suspected Sixth Sister because of that woman.
They entered Sixth Sister's courtyard without any hindrance and spotted Wuyunzhu and Yiduli from afar at the gate.
He Yue stepped forward and, before they could speak, slapped Yi Duli across the face.
The crisp, loud slap made Wu Yunzhu gasp in surprise. Before Wu Yunzhu could get angry, He Yue interrupted her, saying, "Aunt, you don't need to say anything. I respect you, but that doesn't mean I have to be nice to him after my sixth sister suffered such an injustice. My sixth sister almost lost her life. One slap was too lenient for him."
Wu Yunzhu's face turned pale with anger, but she couldn't lash out. She looked at her son with heartache.
Iduli lowered his eyes and clenched his fists: "It's my fault. I didn't take good care of her. I made her suffer. I deserve to be hit. Seventh Sister, you can punish me however you want."
Heyue showed no mercy for his sadness and remorse, and instead curled her lips in a sarcastic smile: "Even if I make a scene in front of Father Emperor today, you will still be in the wrong. You favor your concubine over your wife, and you almost caused your legitimate wife to lose her life. One of these things is not enough for you to bear. It would not be too much for my sixth sister to divorce you."
Iduli's expression changed, his lips moved a few times, but he ultimately said nothing.
He Yue walked past him and entered Sixth Sister's room.
Wu Yunzhu slapped her son on the shoulder and scolded him angrily, "Look what kind of wife you married! She's always making a scene and causing trouble, and she even brought along a shrewish sister! She's deliberately trying to make trouble for our family!"
Iduli remained silent and followed him into the room.
Wu Yunzhu was disappointed in him.
He Yue came to Yan Yue's bedside and saw that her forehead was wrapped in gauze and her face was pale and haggard. She complained with heartache, "How could you be so useless? You've only been back for a short time and you've already made yourself like this."
Yan Yue smiled reassuringly and took He Yue's hand in hers: "Don't worry, I'm fine, it's just a minor injury."
"This is just a minor injury? You're really carefree!" Heyue was furious. "You've already gotten to this state. To prevent you from being tormented by them any longer, I'd better ask your father and mother to take you back. Otherwise, they'll be scared to death by you sooner or later."
"No!" Yan Yue looked anxious and pleaded in her eyes, "I'm really fine."
"You're still defending him? He's a bastard!" He Yue couldn't understand why Sixth Sister was still staying. Does love really make people blind? To the point of risking their lives?
"I called you here to back me up, not to listen to your nagging. You saw it yourself, I don't have the energy to argue with them. I can't let this grievance go unpunished." Yan Yue said with a smile, her eyes shining.
He Yue nodded, her face hardening: "I will never let that woman go!"
"Don't tell Father and Mother about this. I don't want them to worry about me," Yan Yue said, forcing herself to stay calm.
Heyue nodded. If her mother found out, this wouldn't be like last time; it was a matter of life and death, and she would probably come rushing over immediately.
To avoid disturbing Sixth Sister, Heyue went to the front flower hall, where Wuyunzhu and Yiduli also arrived.
Because his sixth sister didn't want to see Yiduli, he had no choice but to come here, feeling extremely frustrated.
Heyue was, after all, just a prince's wife, while Thirteen had no title. Wuyunzhu, on the other hand, was a first-rank lady and sat in the main seat, while Heyue was relegated to the lower seat.
"Aunt, please forgive my rudeness just now. It was just that I was angry because my sister suffered such a great injustice." Heyue apologized to Wuyunzhu first.
Although we must seek justice for Sixth Sister, we must not lose the harmony between the two families.
Moreover, since it was Yiduli who caused this, Heyue naturally wouldn't blame her uncle and aunt.
Wu Yunzhu's expression softened a bit, but He Yue's next words completely changed her expression.
"But we can't pretend nothing happened today. I need to see that woman."
After all, Heyue was the Thirteenth Prince's wife, a member of the royal family, and this matter was one where her own household was in the wrong, so even Wuyunzhu couldn't say anything.
Upon hearing this, Wuyunzhu couldn't help but get angry: "She's pregnant. Even if she needs to be punished, this isn't the time. A married daughter is like water spilled from a cup. Thirteenth Princess is meddling far too much!"
