Chapter 409 Misplaced Anger



Just as he was about to carry Hongtun back to prevent him from crying, Thirteen suddenly took Hongtun away.

He Yue thought that Thirteen had finally figured things out and was going to make her son happy, and she breathed a sigh of relief. But the next moment, she saw Thirteen put Hong Tun upside down on his lap and slap his bottom, scolding him angrily: "All you do is play! Can't you see that your father is unhappy? Why can't you be quiet for a while?"

The little child had never suffered such injustice before. After a moment of stunned silence, he burst into tears, crying so loudly it shook the heavens and the earth.

He Yue's expression changed drastically. She snatched Hong Tun away, held him in her arms, and gently patted his back while softly coaxing him, "Baby, be good, don't cry, don't cry." She glanced coldly at Thirteen, got up, and walked out.

Thirteen stood there stunned, at a loss for what to do.

Heyue carried Hongtun to the west wing. Since no one had lived there before, it hadn't been cleaned up yet. Heyue instructed Zhizhu, "Have someone clean it up. Hongtun and I will stay here tonight."

Zhizhu was filled with fear and anxiety, and hurriedly went out to give instructions.

Heyue led Hailan to the garden for a stroll.

When she returned to her room that evening, she immediately saw Thirteen sitting at the table. Upon seeing Heyue, he hurriedly came over, opened his mouth, and a hint of guilt appeared on his face. He whispered, "Heyue, I'm sorry, it's my fault. Come back with me."

Heyue carefully handed the now-sleepy Hongtun to the wet nurse. After the wet nurse took the child to the side room, she looked at Thirteen with a completely emotionless gaze: "I know you're in a bad mood, but the child shouldn't suffer your anger. You should calm down for a while."
