Author's Note
When I finished typing the last sentence "End of text", I suddenly seemed to see the couple in the story holding hands and standing on the beach.
It turned out that unknowingly, Wen Xi and Zhao Yin had already transformed from names on paper into warm "companions".
When I first wrote about Wenxi, I wanted to fulfill a dream of "secret love hidden in the details".
He is an award-winning actor, but he secretly saves screenshots of Zhao Yin's stage performance in his trumpet, and even records the moment he touches the other person's hand while handing him the throat lozenge.
He seems decent and calm, but he would be stunned when he got burned by scrambled eggs, and would stare at Zhao Yin's back in a daze when he scratched his feet while going to the beach. These "imperfect" little reactions made this character really "come alive".
The setting of "Xi is hope" also hides my little thoughts: Wen Xi is not only the hope of the Wen family, but also the gentle hope that quietly melts out of the "iceberg" of Zhao Yin.
As for Zhao Yin, this "top of the iceberg" had no intention of letting him stay "cold" from the beginning.
He asked his assistant to prepare burn ointment in advance, and said that the unsold star lights were "distributed by the program team." He wrote down Wenxi's preferences in his notes, and even "walking on the left to protect him" became a subconscious habit.
These "secret preferences" are the most touching "sugar" in my heart.
Especially when he turned down work and stayed at the hospital during the storm, helping Wen Xi find a manuscript from five years ago to clear his name, he suddenly understood: the so-called "iceberg" is just someone who hasn't met someone willing to melt. And Zhao Yin's tenderness has always been given to Wen Xi alone.
Some people have asked why they wrote about twists and turns like the "plagiarism lawsuit" and the "poisoning incident"? In fact, it is these not-so-sweet plots that make their relationship more precious.
Wen Xi is not someone who only hides behind Zhao Yin. He won the lawsuit with the manuscript and the testimony of his teacher, which shows his persistence in the "original intention"; Zhao Yin is not an omnipotent protector, but he is willing to take off all his "personality" for Wen Xi and stand in front with the toughest attitude.
They have never been "one side protecting the other side", but "you move forward, and I will definitely move shoulder to shoulder with you."
Just like Wen Xi said, "Someone will protect me from the wind and rain", but Zhao Yin's response has always been, "We will bear it together."
Looking back now, what impressed me most were those "two-way" moments: Wen Xi persisted for five years because of Zhao Yin's words, and Zhao Yin responded to his secret love with five years of "attention".
Wen Xi recorded his heartbeat on the trumpet, while Zhao Yin prepared a surprise off-camera.
Even the missed opportunity at the awards ceremony five years ago became a foreshadowing of the later "two-way redemption".
It turns out that the best relationship is never "I chase you", but "when I sneak up on you, I find that you have been waiting for me for a long time."
The story of Wen Xi and Zhao Yin is not over yet. Like all people who love each other seriously in reality, they will continue to perform different lives in the new drama and live together.
And these words I wrote are just to record the first and most tender part for them.
After all, the future of "rare silver" is always worth looking forward to.
After writing "The Exclusive Breeding Manual for Top Streamers": Turning unspoken regrets into a light of two-way protection
In fact, Wenxi’s “plagiarism lawsuit” hides a past that I have never spoken out.
I spent a whole month polishing the character design and outline, but was accused of "plagiarizing a popular IP."
Those character biographies that were revised three times through staying up late, and the story foreshadowings that were repeatedly pondered, suddenly became "unrecognized" in the face of a light-hearted word "like".
I sat at my desk holding my phone, looking at the densely packed text on the screen. For the first time, I felt that "creation" was so fragile.
Later, when I wrote about Wen Xi being accused of plagiarism by Lin Jinze, I couldn't help but incorporate my mood at the time: he was standing backstage at the autograph session, listening to the doubts of fans outside, and facing Lin Jinze's "pitiful" counterattack. He clearly had evidence, but he panicked in an instant.
That was the confusion I once had. It was the feeling of being wronged and powerless when I saw the "work" that I had carefully nurtured being splashed with dirty water.
But I didn't let Wenxi stay where he was like I did at the beginning.
I asked him to go to court with his manuscript and his teacher's testimony, and asked him to say to the camera "Originality is worth upholding" after winning the case. I also asked Zhao Yin to find a demo recording from five years ago to clear his name in the most direct way.
In fact, I am using their stories to fulfill my dream of being "protected".
At first, I could only hold the evidence alone and was unable to refute it, but Wenxi had Zhao Yin, someone who was willing to stand in front of him; what I didn't have time to explain clearly at the time was "not plagiarism", but Wenxi told everyone clearly in the story.
Some people say that Wenxi’s victory is too “idealistic”.
But I insist on this "ideal." Because I know that in reality, too many creators like me are forced to retreat in silence when faced with accusations of plagiarism. The innocence they didn't have time to prove, the persistence they didn't have time to express, all become regrets in their hearts. (I received an apology letter, but it wasn't sincere.)
So I let Wen Xi win, so that he not only won the lawsuit, but also won Zhao Yin's protection, won the trust of fans, and won back the confidence in "originality".
Just like what Zhao Yin said, "Originality should not be slandered." This sentence is not only for Wenxi, but also what I want to say to myself who is about to give up.
I cried when Zhao Yin dug out the manuscript from five years ago.
It was not just a simple "favor", but he kept every effort of Wenxi in mind.
Just like how I wish someone had said to me, "I've read your outline, it's the result of your hard work."
When Wen Xi hugged Zhao Yin and said "thank you", I was actually using him to thank the self who did not give up, and to thank all those who are willing to believe that "originality has its glory".
Now when I look at Wen Xi and Zhao Yin again, I always feel that they are not only people in the story, but more like my "armor" against regrets.
The recognition I couldn't find in reality, Wenxi found it. The grievances I once endured alone, Wenxi slowly dissipated in Zhao Yin's company.
Those moments that made me want to give up writing became the reasons for "persisting" in Wenxi's story.
It turns out that writing your own regrets into a story and letting the character grow courage with these regrets is such a healing thing.
Wenxi said, "Now someone is shielding me from the storm." Actually, I also want to say to myself, "Now, your story also shields you from the regrets of the past."
In the future, Wenxi and Zhao Yin will continue to work side by side in new dramas, and I will continue writing with the courage I have regained from the story.
After all, those perfections that have not been achieved in reality can be transformed into light that illuminates others in words.
Some people say, "You are a high school student, it's too pretentious of you to write these things," but they don't know that the sadness of a seventeen-year-old is very specific: it is the grievance when the biography on the draft paper is accused of "plagiarism", it is the powerlessness of wanting to explain but being interrupted and told "Don't make excuses", it is the self-doubt when tossing and turning in bed at night, wondering "Am I really wrong?"
So I wrote that Zhao Yin said to Wen Xi, "I remember all your efforts," and that Wen Xi finally won back all the trust. These are the words I wanted to hear, and what I hoped someone would say to the seventeen-year-old me.
Looking at Wenxi and Zhao Yin now, they are more like a small world I created for myself.
In this world, serious creation will not be easily denied, hard work will not be erased by the word "plagiarism", and even our likes and persistence can be well protected.
I know my writing is still rough and the story has many holes, but I will keep writing.
Just like Wenxi didn’t give up singing, I don’t want to give up this love.
Maybe one day in the future, I will find the draft of the short story that was criticized, revise it, and dare to share my work openly.
And now, I have incorporated my expectations for creation and my desire to not be denied into the story of Wen Xi and Zhao Yin.
Giving them a happy ending is actually giving my seventeen-year-old self an answer of "You are not wrong."
