He deliberately provoked her, saying, "There are so many top males from other tribes in the Beast Academy. Do you think I'll still care about Mo Yanche after I enter the Beast Academy tomorrow?"
"you……!"
Pu Yueling was shocked that Ling Yunxi would say such a thing. Seeing Ling Yunxi's smug and disdainful look, she became even angrier.
"What do you mean, 'you'?" Ling Yunxi calmly rolled her eyes at her. "A defeated opponent."
He then calmly turned and left.
Enraged by Ling Yunxi, Pu Yueling gritted her teeth in hatred. Looking at Ling Yunxi's plump and smug back, she clenched her fists, wishing she could tear her to pieces.
Back at her residence, Ling Yunxi looked at her belongings. She had been busy participating in the competition yesterday and was too tired to tidy up afterward.
I've decided to tidy up a bit before taking a break.
She first discarded some piled-up clutter, and then tidied up the scattered bottles and jars.
Finally, the animal hides were taken to the river to be washed.
Along the way, many orcs were surprised to see Ling Yunxi carrying a basket of animal hides.
"Ling Yunxi is actually out working now," a beastman whispered.
"That's right, her clothes are usually washed by her stray father."
“Not recently. After her father found her a beastman from the wandering realm, it was that beastman who washed her.”
"I see. But why did she do it herself today?"
"Yeah, speaking of which, where has her homeless beast husband gone these past few days? He actually dared to make her wash herself, wasn't he afraid of getting beaten up?"
"Shh, don't say anything, she's here."
...
Ling Yunxi paid little attention to the gossip.
Looking at the clear, clean river and the azure sky, she couldn't help but marvel at how wonderful it was to have an environment untouched by industrial pollution.
Even along the riverbank, schools of small fish swam, and many of them reflected a dazzling white light as they swam in the sunlight.
After she carried the animal skin to the riverbank, the little fish sensed her arrival and, startled, all darted into the deep water with a "whoosh."
After setting down the pile of animal hides, she saw the beastmen washing animal hides nearby and greeted them with a smile, "You're washing them too."
The male who was washing animal hides closest to her felt a chill run down his spine when he heard Ling Yunxi greet them, remembering how Ling Yunxi could go crazy at any moment.
Lost in thought, he lost his grip on the animal hide, which fell into the river. Realizing what had happened, he quickly grabbed the hide, which was about to drift away with the current.
He looked embarrassed and said, "Uh, hahaha, yeah."
He continued washing the animal hides in his hands stiffly, sweat beading on his forehead as he recalled their earlier conversation about her.
Ling Yunxi noticed his awkward and uneasy appearance, so she stopped talking to him.
After washing and wringing them dry, she packed the animal skin garments into a basket and took them back, hanging them one by one on the rope by the door.
Ling Yunxi was exhausted and panting after finishing all of this. She sat on the bed, looking at the fat on her body, and thinking about the amount of disgust Mo Yanche felt for her.
It seems that relying solely on a system is not enough to achieve rapid and successful weight loss.
As I was thinking, drowsiness came over me, and I fell asleep.
I don't know how much time passed before I heard noises outside.
"Yunxi, dinner's ready!" Xiao Chenzhao called out excitedly.
After Ling Yunxi got up and came out of the inner room, she saw a pot of fish soup outside.
"Father, it's done so quickly." Ling Yunxi rubbed her eyes and said after smelling the fragrance.
"It's getting late, look, it's almost dark outside," Xiao Chenzhao said.
Ling Yunxi looked up at the setting sun that was about to disappear behind the mountains.
She looked back at the middle-aged man in front of her, her face beaming with joy.
"Yunxi, here, your favorite fish head." Xiao Chenzhao said, slicing a fish head into her cheek.
"Yes, thank you, Father," Ling Yunxi said after she realized what was happening.
Looking at the fish head in her bowl, she pursed her lips. "Father, I can take care of my own meals from now on. You just need to take good care of yourself."
Seeing his smile falter, she quickly explained, "Father, I didn't mean anything by it, please don't overthink it. It's just that I should grow up now and not rely on you all the time."
Hearing Ling Yunxi's words and seeing that her behavior these past two days was indeed different from before, Xiao Chenzhao sighed inwardly, "Yunxi has really grown up..."
"But don't worry about food. They'll provide food at the Beast Academy tomorrow, and I heard they have a pretty good variety," Xiao Chenzhao said.
"Then Yunxi won't have to suffer with her father."
"Father..."
"Oh, right, Yunxi." Xiao Chenzhao said, getting up and picking up a leather bag from the side, carefully placing it on the table.
"This is the bag I prepared for you. It will be convenient for you to bring anything you want to the Beast Academy tomorrow."
"Okay." Ling Yunxi took it, opened it and looked at it; it was sturdy, tight, and wide. "Thank you, Father, I like it very much."
"I'm glad you like it, I'm glad you like it." Xiao Chenzhao was very pleased to hear Ling Yunxi say that she liked it.
He was deeply moved to recall how Ling Yunxi had always looked disgusted with the things he gave her in the past, and had never expressed her liking for them like she did today.
——
"How did the competition go?" Ling Huashuang asked casually to the servant beside her after finishing her business.
"It must be Pu Yueling. I know it's her without even thinking. Arrange a seat for her tomorrow."
"Your Majesty, Ling Yunxi has won," the attendant replied.
Ling Huashuang, who was picking up an item from the side, froze instantly. A look of surprise flashed in her eyes when she heard the news.
"How could it be her..."
