Chapter 21 Self-Study of Runes

Seeing the beast master on the stage preparing to leave, Ling Yunxi caught up with him.

"Beast Master".

"What is it?" The plant beast master stopped and turned around.

He had heard about Ling Yunxi's deeds and was quite worried that she might cause some trouble in his class before class started.

Surprisingly, she listened attentively to the lecture all morning.

This is much more serious than some arrogant orcs.

"I just arrived today and haven't studied the previous material, so I'd like to ask you about the earlier lessons," Ling Yun said.

"Oh." The plant tamer was busy going back and ignored her.

According to regulations, the animal trainer must teach the new animal trainee the content that has been taught before.

I initially thought she was just there to see the males from other tribes, and I didn't think she would actually want to learn anything.

"The previous content was quite simple; just follow the steps on it." He handed her several rough sheets of paper covered with strangely shaped runes.

"If you don't understand something, you can ask other learning beasts first..."

Thinking of her relationship with the other beastmen, he changed his words and said, "You can also come and ask me directly."

"Okay, thank you." She took the paper and said.

The plant tamer was about to leave when he stopped, as if he wanted to say something. He sighed and continued on his way.

Ling Yunxi looked at the rough paper in her hand, with its strangely shaped patterns and runes.

If she doesn't learn the animal script here, she will find it difficult to learn the knowledge in this class.

Where is the enlightenment school?

She saw an orc walk by, "Excuse me..."

The orc glanced at her with a disdainful look, then quickly sped away.

Then he saw another orc pass by behind him and had the same reaction.

“Oh well,” she sighed, “never mind.”

These orcs probably all have a psychological trauma from her; who would dare to approach her?

"007, do you know him?" she asked in her mind.

"Host, it's outside the Beast Academy, in a cave to the right," 007 replied.

"What conditions are required to go there?" she asked as she walked.

"It needs to be exchanged for useful goods, herbs or food are both acceptable."

After hearing the system's answer, Ling Yunxi decided to go and check it out first.

After leaving the cave of the Beast Academy, we walked for a while.

I saw a wooden house made of wooden blocks, which was also a cave, but not as big as the Beast Academy.

"Excuse me……"

As she approached, she saw a window and asked, "Is this the elementary school?"

The orcs inside were eating and ignored her when they saw her, even rolling their eyes at her.

Seeing that he ignored her, Ling Yunxi glanced inside and decided to go back first.

"Tch," the orc looked at Ling Yunxi's fat back with disdain, "How can someone who can't even understand runes get into the Beast Academy?"

Ling Yunxi turned around and heard the voice behind her. She clenched her fist, then relaxed it after a moment.

“This kind of person,” another orc came in and mocked, “I don’t know what tricks she used to steal someone else’s spot. If it weren’t for the Holy Mother’s sake, we would have kicked her out long ago.”

“Exactly, they didn’t even bother to find out who runs this elementary school before they came here,” one of the orcs eating chimed in.

Originally not wanting to cause trouble, she couldn't stand it anymore after hearing this. She turned around angrily and strode towards them with heavy steps.

"Say that again!?"

The orc who had just spoken did not expect her to return.

He gripped the cup in his hand, looking uneasy: "I didn't say anything..."

"I won the competition on my own merits. What, do you think the competition is unfair, or do you suspect that the instructors who set the questions made a mistake?"

She asked in a clear, forceful voice.

"This competition has always existed, and it wasn't specifically designed for me. If you suspect me of cheating on stage, I will accept the test again. If you're still not satisfied, please discuss it with the mentors instead of gossiping behind my back!"

The two orcs broke out in a cold sweat upon hearing Ling Yunxi's words, realizing they were unable to refute her.

“If,” Ling Yunxi calmed herself down and continued, “I’ll hear you say those things again, so don’t blame me for being ruthless!”

She raised her clenched fist and said.

After saying that, he ignored them and turned to leave.

The two orcs were terrified when they saw Ling Yunxi in this state.

"A bully who preys on the weak and fears the strong—anyone can be a teacher to a child."

But if she didn't learn the runes of this beast world there, how could she continue her studies?

What Ling Yunxi didn't notice was that from the moment she appeared until she left, an orc overheard their entire conversation.

"Assist... assist in the ritual," an orc shouted upon seeing this.

"Um."

Upon hearing Ling Yunxi's voice, Pu Shangji, who was inside, initially did not react and continued reading his book.

After she said those words, he frowned slightly.

Speaking of the competition, Pu Yueling's performance was indeed inferior to hers, and her behavior was not as upright.

Of course, he also...

It wasn't time for afternoon classes yet, and Ling Yunxi, who hadn't had lunch, was already a little hungry.

She ate less than usual this morning, and had already felt hungry once during her morning classes, so she was hungry again now.

It seems this body does get hungry more easily.

She followed her memory to the place that provided lunch for the animal school—the canteen.

Seeing that only a few scattered orcs were still eating, Ling Yunxi went inside, just about to get some food.
