Chapter 128 The Chess Game at Your Fingertips

As the car pulled into the villa's garage, Yu Jiuyuan's phone rang again. It was a message from Lin Yanran, her tone still curt: "[I need to borrow your etiquette class notes tomorrow to copy.]"

She replied with "okay," then looked up at Rong Shenghan and said, "Lin Yanran has finally taken the initiative to talk to me. That's quite an improvement, isn't it?"

Rong Shenghan unbuckled his seatbelt, leaned close to her, his nose almost touching her forehead: "Miss, you certainly treat everyone equally, not leaving anyone out."

His scent carried a faint aroma of tobacco and ebony, blending into a reassuring fragrance.

Yu Jiuyuan didn't dodge; instead, she tilted her head back and kissed the corner of his lips: "And you? Were you 'soothed' by me?"

Rong Shenghan chuckled softly, reached out and pinched her chin, deepening the kiss.

The kiss carried a hint of punishment, fierce yet lingering, as if it wanted to devour her to prove its special place in her heart.

"Yu Jiuyuan," he kissed her until she was breathless, then whispered, pressing his forehead against hers, "Don't go too far."

“I didn’t.” Yu Jiuyuan looked at the desire surging in his eyes, her smile cunning and charming. “I was just… playing a game of chess.”

Xie Zhecheng's composure, Yuan Xu's purity, Lin Yanran's awkwardness, Rong Shenghan's profundity, and even Ji Nianqin's sudden entry into the game, are all pawns at her fingertips.

She enjoyed the feeling of control, enjoyed watching them react to her joy or anger, her nearness or distance. It was more interesting and addictive than any game.

Rong Shenghan looked at the almost crazed light in her eyes and suddenly smiled.

He knew all along that his young lady was never some innocent and harmless little rabbit; she was a little snake with sharp fangs, lazily coiling around her prey until the other was completely smitten.

And he did it willingly.

"Then I'll be the most disobedient piece on your chessboard." He kissed the corner of her eye, his voice hoarse, "and could capture your king at any moment."

“Then I’ll wait.” Yu Jiuyuan laughed smugly. “Let’s see who eats whom first.”

As night deepened, the lights in the villa turned on and off one by one.

Only the master bedroom light stayed on late, like a pearl hidden in velvet, witnessing how this game, in the chessboard at your fingertips, gradually leads to a deeper entanglement.
