Chapter 143 Crack

Su Jingshu was so frightened that she trembled all over, her lips quivering and she couldn't speak.

Yu Jiuyuan leaned against Ji Nianqin's chest, watching the farce with great interest.

The system panel popped up in his mind. Ji Luoqin's favorability was still displayed as "unknown", but the negative value of emotional fluctuations had soared to 120, while the positive value had mysteriously dropped to 5.

"Luo Qin, don't frighten her," Yu Jiuyuan said, her voice cloyingly sweet. "Miss Su is just too excited."

Ji Luoqin's gaze shifted to her, landing on her waist where Ji Nianqin was holding her. His eyes churned with intense possessiveness and anger, like a wild beast that had been provoked.

"Let her go," he said to Ji Nianqin, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"Is my brother trying to steal my sister away from me?" Ji Nianqin smiled gently, but tightened her grip on his arm. "Father has already agreed to my marriage with my sister."

"I disagree." Ji Luoqin stepped forward and reached out to pull Yu Jiuyuan. "She is mine."

Yu Jiuyuan broke free from Ji Nianqin's embrace at the opportune moment, walked between the two brothers, raised her hand and pressed it against Ji Luoqin's chest, her fingertips deliberately tracing his open collar: "Stop fooling around, we're all on the same side."

Her fingertips, slightly cool in temperature, brushed against Ji Luoqin's skin like feathers, causing his tense body to stiffen slightly.

"The banquet is about to begin." Yu Jiuyuan looked up at him, her eyes regaining their innocent and harmless appearance. "If we don't go soon, Mr. Su will be getting impatient."

Ji Luoqin's gaze fell on her smiling eyes. After struggling for a moment, he finally loosened his clenched fist and turned to walk towards the door.

As he passed by Su Jingshu, he didn't stop, but said in a voice only the two of them could hear: "If you want to live, keep everything you know to yourself."

Su Jingshu collapsed to the ground, watching Ji Luoqin disappear at the end of the corridor, then looked at Yu Jiuyuan, who was being embraced again by Ji Nianqin, her eyes filled with despair.

Yu Jiuyuan gave her a reassuring smile, but that smile, in Su Jingshu's eyes, was more chilling than any threat.

"Remember to send the rock sugar pears over," Yu Jiuyuan said softly, as if she were reminding someone of something trivial.

Su Jingshu nodded in a daze and scrambled out of the student council office.

The moment the door closed, Ji Nianqin lowered her head and kissed the top of Yu Jiuyuan's head: "Sister, do you trust her that much?"

“I don’t believe it.” Yu Jiuyuan leaned against him, looking at the increasingly dark night outside the window. “But I believe in her hatred for the Su family.”

Ji Nianqin chuckled softly, her fingertips tracing the woman's cheek: "And what about me? Do you believe me, sister?"

Yu Jiuyuan looked up and kissed his lips, the gesture both tender and calculating: "What do you think, fiancé?"

The clock tower outside the window struck again, reminding everyone that the dinner was drawing ever closer.

Yu Jiuyuan closed her eyes, feeling the warmth on her lips, while calculating each move in her mind.

The Su family, the Ji family, and those forces lurking in the shadows...

The game is finally coming to an end.

And she will be the ultimate winner.
