When Su Jingshu pushed open the door to the private room of the coffee shop, Yu Jiuyuan was gently stirring her latte with a silver spoon.
The milk foam swirled in the porcelain cup, creating tiny eddies, much like her seemingly calm yet turbulent thoughts.
"Miss Yu, is there any new development regarding the Su family's affairs?"
Su Jingshu sat down opposite her. Her black dress made her skin appear even paler, but her eyes shone with an astonishing light—a resolute determination born of a do-or-die spirit, and the excitement of impending revenge.
Yu Jiuyuan looked up and gently tapped the rim of the cup with her fingertips.
The blue line on the pinky ring had a very faint gray tinge, representing the hidden hatred in Su Jingshu's emotions, like an undercurrent beneath the ice, ready to burst forth at any moment.
"The Ji family's cash flow is more fragile than we expected."
She pushed an encrypted document over, the edges of the paper still warm from the printer.
"This is evidence that Ji Luoqin embezzled public funds to cover up the Su family's deficit. I need you to put it on the desk of the Supervisory Council within three days."
Su Jingshu's fingertips trembled slightly when they touched the document.
She knew better than anyone what this evidence meant: it could not only completely destroy the Su family, but also ruin Ji Luoqin's reputation and possibly implicate the entire Ji family.
"Miss Yu, aren't you afraid of...getting burned?"
She looked up, her gaze sharp as a knife. "The Ji family has fallen. Those shady deals will eventually be traced back to their source."
"I'm not afraid to play with fire."
Yu Jiuyuan smiled, her eyes revealing a pure innocence like a thin layer of ice, beneath which lay the fanaticism of a madman.
"Besides, doesn't Miss Su have enough leverage to shut Ji Nianqin up?"
She glanced meaningfully at Su Jingshu's wrist.
She wore a seemingly ordinary jade bracelet, which actually contained a miniature recorder. The recorder contained the entire conversation in which Ji Nianqin instigated the Su family to falsify accounts. It was a "gift" that Yu Jiuyuan had "lent" her during their last meeting.
Su Jingshu paused for a moment, then chuckled softly, "Miss Yu is indeed a master strategist."
She neatly put the documents into her handbag, her movements swift and efficient. "You'll see the results in three days."
"There's one more thing."
Yu Jiuyuan suddenly called out to her, tapping her pinky ring with her fingertip, "Lin Yanran is currently investigating the Ji family. Tell him to behave himself. I don't want anyone to ruin my plans at this time."
Mentioning Lin Yanran, a hint of disdain flashed in Su Jingshu's eyes: "What else can that young master of the Lin family do besides throwing documents and losing his temper? I'll keep him 'busy'."
As she got up to leave, the crisp sound of her high heels on the floor seemed to signal the countdown to the Su family's funeral.
Yu Jiuyuan watched her figure disappear around the street corner, picked up her latte and took a sip. The sweetness of the milk foam mixed with the bitterness of the coffee, creating a strange taste on her tongue.
The system panel flashed in his mind. Ji Luoqin's favorability was still at 85, but her negative emotions had climbed to 15, like a taut string that could snap at any moment.
She knew that this seemingly aloof second young master of the Ji family cared far more about the Ji family's reputation than he showed, especially in front of her.
When I returned to St. Sakura Academy in the afternoon, the atmosphere in the student council office was tense.
Lin Yanran slammed a stack of documents on the table, veins throbbing on her forehead: "Ji Luoqin is clearly transferring assets! Are you just going to let him do whatever he wants?"
Xie Zhecheng sat by the window reading documents, his gaze behind his gold-rimmed glasses calm and unwavering: "Without evidence, we can't touch him."
"Evidence?" Lin Yanran sneered. "By the time we find evidence, he'll have already absconded with the money!"
Yu Jiuyuan pushed open the door and happened to witness this scene.
Ignoring the furious Lin Yanran, she walked straight to Xie Zhecheng and placed a document in front of him: "This is evidence of tax evasion by a subsidiary of the Ji family, the encrypted ledger that Yuan Xu just cracked."
When Xie Zhecheng looked up, she was tilting her head to look at him, her eyes gleaming with the cunning of a fox that had just stolen a chicken: "President Xie, do you think this evidence is sufficient?"
The data in the document is clear and concise, with each amount of tax evasion marked down to the cent, just like a report that Xie Zhecheng himself made.
His fingertips traced the paper, then he suddenly looked up: "You started investigating a long time ago."
"Otherwise what?" Yu Jiuyuan laughed frankly. "We can't really let the Ji family run off with all the money in Sheng Ying City, can we?"
Her pinky ring gleamed with a pale blue light in the sunlight, and Xie Zhecheng's positive emotional fluctuations quietly rose to 110, like a still lake tossed with a pebble, rippling outwards.
Lin Yanran leaned over to look at the document, her expression softening slightly, but still arrogant: "You're not entirely useless. When are we going to make our move?"
"Wait for news from Su Jingshu."
Yu Jiuyuan leaned against the edge of the table, her voice casual, "Before that, Director Lin, why don't you submit the summary of last week's activities? I remember the deadline was yesterday."
Lin Yanran's face flushed instantly, like a punctured balloon, but she didn't say anything more, turned around and slammed the door shut as she left.
Xie Zhecheng watched his retreating figure and suddenly chuckled softly, "You always manage to pinpoint his sore spots."
"To deal with an arrogant person, you must use an arrogant approach."
Yu Jiuyuan picked up the evidence of tax evasion and lightly traced Ji Luoqin's signature with her fingertip. "Besides, I don't have that much time to waste with him."
She wanted to end all of this as soon as possible, give Rong Shenghan a stable "status" as soon as possible, and bring this farce that involved too many people to an end as soon as possible.
It wasn't because she was soft-hearted, but because her pet deserved better treatment.
When they returned to the villa in the evening, Rong Shenghan was in the kitchen preparing dinner.
His left arm is already flexible, but he can't use too much force yet. His chopping movements are a bit slow, but still methodical.
