On the cherry blossom avenue of St. Sakura Academy, late-blooming cherry blossoms are falling in abundance.
Yu Jiuyuan had just finished the student council's routine meeting. She was holding a club activity approval form in her hand, her fingertips unconsciously stroking the edge of the paper. It was Lin Yanran's application to expand the equestrian club, and there was still a hint of arrogance between the lines.
"President Yu."
A clear male voice sounded from behind.
Yu Jiuyuan turned around and saw Lu Jingming, a senior in the third year of high school. He came from a good family and was quite popular at school. At this moment, he was holding a bouquet of white roses and standing in the midst of cherry blossoms, his eyes shining brightly.
She raised her eyebrows slightly but didn't say anything.
I've liked you for a long time.
Lu Jingming stepped forward and handed the flowers to her, his voice filled with the sincerity unique to young people, "I noticed you from the moment you spoke at the opening ceremony when you enrolled. President Yu, could you give me a chance to pursue you?"
A faint gasp could be heard from the surroundings, and several passing students stopped and looked over curiously.
Yu Jiuyuan's gaze swept over the bouquet of white roses before returning to Lu Jingming's face. A standard, innocent smile curved her lips: "Senior Lu, I'm sorry, I don't have any plans to date for the time being."
Her tone was gentle, but her refusal was crisp and decisive, without the slightest hesitation.
Lu Jingming's face paled slightly, but he maintained his composure: "I was being presumptuous." He put away the flowers, his fingertips trembling slightly. "Then... may I ask why?"
"Because it's troublesome." Yu Jiuyuan said frankly, but there was no emotion in her eyes. "Dating requires spending time with your partner, remembering various anniversaries, and dealing with unfounded suspicions and arguments, which is too inefficient."
She was telling the truth.
For her, feelings have always been a tool to achieve her goals. Pure affection like Lu Jingming's is both useless and troublesome.
Lu Jingming was clearly not expected to receive such an answer, and stood there stunned, the white rose in his hand looking somewhat ridiculous.
Yu Jiuyuan ignored him and turned to leave, but when she looked up, she saw Rong Shenghan not far away.
He stood in the shade of the cherry blossom tree, holding a student council file folder in his hand, his face still bearing that approachable smile, but his eyes were as deep as unyielding ink.
The evening breeze lifted the cuffs of his shirt, revealing the platinum ring on his left ring finger, which gleamed coldly in the dappled light.
Yu Jiuyuan's heart skipped a beat for no apparent reason.
She knew Rong Shenghan had seen it.
With his keen observation skills, it was impossible for him to have missed what just happened.
Sure enough, Rong Shenghan walked towards her. When he passed by Lu Jingming, he paused for a moment, glanced at the bouquet of white roses, said nothing, and went straight to Yu Jiuyuan. He naturally took the approval form from her hand: "Officer Lin's application? I've read it. Some parts need to be revised."
His tone was no different from usual, as if nothing had just happened.
Yu Jiuyuan hummed in agreement, and out of the corner of her eye, she saw Lu Jingming turn away dejectedly, petals falling on the back of his empty hand, like a silent mockery.
"Let's go to the office," Rong Shenghan said, taking the first step.
Yu Jiuyuan followed behind him, looking at his tall and straight back, and felt that something was not right.
He seemed to be walking faster than usual today, and the grip on the file folder was also firmer than usual.
For the rest of the day, Rong Shenghan behaved flawlessly.
He helped her with student council affairs, discussed the inter-school exchange meeting with her next week, and even specially picked out a piece of her favorite sweet and sour pork ribs for her at lunch. His smile was gentle and his manner considerate.
But Yu Jiuyuan felt that there was an impending storm in the air.
This feeling was only confirmed when we returned to the villa that evening.
Only one bedside lamp was on in the master bedroom, casting a dim and ambiguous light.
Yu Jiuyuan had just finished washing up and was wearing a silk slip dress, drying her hair, when Rong Shenghan hugged her from behind.
His chest pressed against her back, burning hot, his breath falling on the crook of her neck, carrying the crisp scent of ebony, yet with a more scorching aggressiveness than usual.
"Your white roses are quite beautiful today, Senior Lu." He said in a low voice with a hint of a smile, but his fingertips suddenly tightened, gripping her waist.
Yu Jiuyuan hissed in pain, dropping the towel in her hand to the ground: "Rong Shenghan, what are you doing?"
"Nothing much." He lowered his head and kissed the back of her neck, gently nibbling and leaving a trail of fine red marks. "I just suddenly felt that, baby, you seem to have forgotten something."
"Forgot what?" Yu Jiuyuan struggled to turn around, but he held her even tighter.
"I forgot you're taken." Rong Shenghan's kisses slid down your spine, sending shivers through the thin silk fabric. "I forgot who has the right to make demands of you, forgot... how to be obedient."
His voice was soft, yet carried an undeniable authority, completely different from the gentle vice president he was during the day.
Yu Jiuyuan belatedly realized that Rong Shenghan was jealous again.
She deliberately snorted, "I rejected him, didn't you hear me?"
"I heard you." Rong Shenghan bit her earlobe, the force neither too light nor too heavy. "But I don't like people looking at you like that, and I especially don't like anyone daring to make demands of you."
He suddenly bent down, picked her up horizontally, and threw her onto the bed.
Before Yu Jiuyuan could react, he had already leaned in, pressed his hands on her wrists, raised them above her head, and gently tied them with his tie.
The silk tie brushed against my skin, causing a delicate itch.
Yu Jiuyuan struggled, but couldn't break free; instead, the restraints tightened.
