Chapter 190 Do you believe it?

Lin Yanran felt a little uncomfortable under her gaze and turned her face away: "I have both."

“Then how about…” Yu Jiuyuan took a step closer, the edge of the umbrella shielding the two of them. Her voice, mixed with the sound of rain, carried a seductive tone, “would you like to treat me to a drink tonight? Consider it a thank you gift.”

Lin Yanran suddenly turned to look at her, her eyes full of surprise.

He didn't miss the fleeting smile in her eyes, but nodded as if possessed: "Okay."

In the wine cellar late at night, the wall lamps cast a warm yellow light.

Yu Jiuyuan chose a bottle of Burgundy red wine, and gently uncorked it with a corkscrew, her movements as elegant as if she were performing a ritual.

Lin Yanran sat on the leather sofa next to her, watching the slight curve of her wrist as she poured the wine, and her Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily.

"Want to try some?" She handed him the wine glass.

Lin Yanran took the wine glass and took a sip.

The rich aroma of red wine spread across his tongue, with a slightly astringent aftertaste, much like his mood at that moment.

He watched Yu Jiuyuan lean against the bar, her fingertips lightly tracing the rim of her glass, and suddenly mustered the courage to ask, "Why... are you so good to me?"

Yu Jiuyuan raised her eyes, a smile spreading across her face: "Does Director Lin think I'm very good to you?"

Isn't that so?

He countered with a hint of barely perceptible grievance in his voice, "You would help me treat my wounds, teach me how to plant trees, and..." He would stay by his side when he was sick and give him his favorite sandwich.

These small acts of kindness, like pebbles thrown into a lake, created ripples in his heart.

Yu Jiuyuan put down her wine glass, walked up to him, bent down and looked him in the eye.

Her hair brushed against his cheek, carrying a faint scent of alcohol and her unique fragrance.

"What if I said I wanted you to like me a little more?" Her voice was soft, like a lover's whisper, but her eyes held a hint of amusement. "Lin Yanran, would you believe me?"

Lin Yanran's heart skipped a beat, as if it had been hit hard by something.

Looking at her face so close to his, at his own reflection clearly in her eyes, he suddenly felt that all the pride and guardedness he had deliberately maintained shattered completely at that moment.

He didn't say anything, but simply reached out and awkwardly grasped her wrist.

Her skin was cool, yet it possessed a reassuring warmth.

Yu Jiuyuan looked at his reddened ears, a triumphant smile flashing in her eyes, but she didn't point it out.

She let him hold her hand, and gently placed her other hand on the back of his hand, her fingertips slowly tracing the bandaged wound.

"The wine is good," she said softly. "I accept the gift."

After saying that, she withdrew her hand, turned around and walked out of the wine cellar. When she reached the door, she looked back and found that Lin Yanran was still in the same position as before, her cheeks as red as if they were burning.

She smiled and gently closed the door.

At the end of the corridor, Rong Shenghan was leaning against the wall waiting for her, holding a dry towel in his hand.

Yu Jiuyuan walked over and naturally leaned against him, letting him wipe her slightly damp hair with a towel.

"Have you been talking for so long?" he asked, his voice devoid of emotion.

"Yes, I asked Lin Yanran about some things concerning the Lin family."

Yu Jiuyuan looked up and kissed his chin, her tone slightly coquettish, "What, are you jealous again?"

Rong Shenghan looked down at her and suddenly smiled: "You'll make it up to me later."

“Okay.” Yu Jiuyuan tiptoed and whispered in his ear, “I’ll do whatever you say.”

The light in the master bedroom stayed on for a long time before being turned off.

In the room on the other side of the second floor, Lin Yanran sat by the window, still holding the empty wine glass in her hand.

The rain outside the window had stopped, and moonlight shone through the glass onto his face, revealing a tenderness in his eyes that he had never shown before.

He raised his hand and touched his fingers, which were wrapped in gauze, as if he could still feel the warmth of her fingertips.

The wind blew through the eaves, carrying the warmth of late spring, and quietly entered someone's heart.

A soft blue light emanated from Yu Jiuyuan's pinky ring in the master bedroom:
