Chapter 204 The Return Journey: A Definitive Guide

As the last rays of dawn pierced through the clouds in Santorini, Yu Jiuyuan had already packed her luggage.

A white suitcase stood in the corner of the bedroom, meticulously organized, just like her usual way of taking charge.

She wore a simple silk shirt and skirt, her long hair tied into a neat low ponytail, revealing her slender neck. On the surface, she still looked like a kind and gentle young lady, but there was a hint of coldness hidden in her eyes.

This two-week graduation trip is finally coming to an end, but her game never has a break.

"Is everything packed?" Rong Shenghan pushed open the door and came in, holding a glass of warm water in his hand. He had his usual approachable smile on his face, but his fingertips exerted a little force when they touched her wrist.

He knew better than anyone that the relaxation during the trip was just a temporary relief for Yu Jiuyuan. Once she returned to that familiar city, she would revert to being the all-around warrior who juggled student council and Yu family affairs.

But what he can have all to himself is still the master bedroom every night.

Yu Jiuyuan took the water glass, her fingertips lightly touching the warmth of the glass. She tilted her head back and drank, her Adam's apple bobbing as she did so with elegant grace: "Well, there's nothing I need to bring. Most of my things have been sent back by the housekeeper."

Her voice was soft, yet carried an undeniable certainty: "Xie Zhecheng booked a private plane for 10 a.m. If we dawdle any longer, we'll miss our flight."

Rong Shenghan smiled and nodded, bending down to help her lift her suitcase: "I'll do whatever you say."

He appeared docile, but a complex emotion flickered in his eyes.

When traveling, Yu Jiuyuan is gentle; she smiles at the sunrise, listens patiently to Yuan Xu talk about biological research, and tolerates Lin Yanran's arrogance.

But he knew that it was just a small treat she was giving them.

Back in reality, she remains that cold-hearted egoist, all her gentleness carrying a clear purpose of control.

When I went downstairs, the living room of the villa had already been tidied up.

Hsieh Che-cheng, dressed in a neatly pressed black suit, was standing in the entryway checking his itinerary. The perfectionist even arranged the boarding passes strictly according to the first letter of their surnames.

Seeing Yu Jiuyuan come down, the coldness in his eyes softened instantly, and he handed her a printed itinerary: "The flight information and airport pick-up arrangements have been confirmed. There are a few urgent documents from the Yu family that have been sent to your email."

"Thank you for your hard work, Zhecheng." Yu Jiuyuan took the schedule, her fingertips tracing the clear handwriting on the paper, a perfectly timed smile playing on her lips.

She naturally understood Xie Zhecheng's intentions. This man always arranged everything perfectly, but he never took credit and silently served as her strongest support.

Such loyal dogs are the most worry-free.

Yuan Xu sat on the sofa, holding a sealed incubator in his arms, which contained marine biological samples he had collected over the past two weeks.

Upon seeing Yu Jiuyuan, he immediately stood up, his eyes shining like stars: "The samples are all preserved. We can start gene sequencing as soon as we get back. I've already contacted the lab, and we can begin tomorrow..."

He talked on and on about his research plan, his tone full of excitement, completely oblivious to the stares of those around him.

Yu Jiuyuan listened patiently, nodding occasionally in response: "Take care and get some rest, don't stay up too late."

A simple sentence made Yuan Xu blush instantly, and she nodded repeatedly: "I know, don't worry."

For this man, who was engrossed in the world of biology, a word of concern from her carried more weight than any experimental data.

Lin Yanran leaned against the door frame, her hands in her pockets, still with that arrogant posture, but at her feet was an exquisite gift box.

When he saw Yu Jiuyuan's gaze sweep over him, he awkwardly turned his face away, his voice stiff: "I bought it on a whim, it wasn't meant for you." As he spoke, he kicked the gift box, gesturing for her to accept it.

Yu Jiuyuan bent down, picked up the gift box, opened it, and found a hand-carved seashell brooch inside. The pattern was delicate, exactly the style she had casually mentioned liking in town a few days ago.

She looked up at Lin Yanran, a sly smile flashing in her eyes: "Thank you, I like it very much."

Those five simple words made Lin Yanran's ears turn red instantly. He coughed lightly, turned around, and walked out of the villa first: "Hurry up, don't miss the flight."

That hypocritical demeanor had long since lost its initial resistance, leaving only the docile obedience that came with being tamed.

The private jet taxied smoothly on the runway. Yu Jiuyuan leaned on Rong Shenghan's shoulder, seemingly resting with her eyes closed, but in reality, she was organizing her work arrangements after returning home.

She had to personally handle everything, from the student council's leadership transition and the handover of power in the Yu family to the upcoming university opening.

However, she didn't feel tired; on the contrary, she enjoyed the feeling of being in control.

Everything proceeded according to her plan, and this certainty gave her immense peace of mind.

"Thinking about work?" Rong Shenghan's voice was deep and gentle, his fingertips lightly stroking the back of her hand. "It's rare to relax like this, you can think about it when you get back."

Yu Jiuyuan opened her eyes, looked at the gradually shrinking Santorini Island outside the window, and a faint smile appeared on her lips: "I'm used to it."

She paused, then turned to look at Rong Shenghan, a hint of seriousness in her eyes, "However, this trip was indeed very enjoyable, thank you."

This sincere thank you warmed Rong Shenghan's heart.

He knew that Yu Jiuyuan's gentleness was mostly driven by ulterior motives, but at this moment, he preferred to believe that this warmth was genuine.

He tightened his arms, holding her even closer: "I'm happy to be with you."

Time flies when you're on a plane.

Xie Zhecheng sat in a seat not far away, dealing with work emails while glancing at Yu Jiuyuan from time to time to make sure she could detect any needs she might have immediately.
